Lovely! Looking forward seeing the next day. Hugs!
Thanks Jose, editing day 2 now 👍
Great video Justin. Thanks for sharing. Planning to do the walk in September so hope to have blue skies like you!
Thanks Alan. I usually wait for a weather window and go, I love hiking in great conditions. It's so much more enjoyable and looks better in videos 👍
Good one. I’ll be taking your route in summer. 👌👌👌💪💪💪💪
Nice one Paul. I really enjoyed the HWP. Subscribe and let me know how you get on 👍
"Banged on a metal feeding trough..."
Crafty, Mr Whiting, very crafty... 😄👍🏻
I’m always banging on about metal and feeding….. 🤘
@@JustinWhiting9 There's worse things to bang on about...!! 🙂
Forgot to mention, in case you didn't spot them, 2 more songs from Banner on this vid, plus a belter on the trailer 👍
@@JustinWhiting9 Yeah, of course I noticed them! Works really well - it's a genuinely nice touch to have "proper" music from a good band on your hiking vids rather than having to depend on UA-cam Audio Library. It also takes AGES to find good tunes!
I know, hours and hours.... It’s good of Adam to let me use his music 👍
Looked a grim start Justin pleased for you it turned into a nice day good going for day 1 a nice 22 miles 😀 let's see what day 2 has in store atb daz
It was rainy early on but I knew it would ‘turn out nice again’ 😉 A cracking day and they got better and better 👍
Going to do the wall in May, thanks for the preview and the tips on how to deal with too much friendly cows lol
Glad you enjoyed the vids. Did you watch all the way to South Shields and also the teaser vids? Good luck! 👍
Beautiful places!
Thanks Filippo! The views get better every day on this awe-inspiring trail 👍 Check out the trailer video too.
Yes, I saw it some days ago and I couldn't wait to see the fist episode (and now the second)👍
Very informative and interesting. Thanks :)
Looking forward to next episodes ;)
Thanks Linda. 👍 Next one in progress...
Interesting and varied start Justin - well even global. I really enjoyed the castle and church built out of the walls. Fabulous history. Mark
Hi Mark 👋 This trail gets better and better. Amazing up in the high country where the wall survives 👌
@@JustinWhiting9 Alright Justin. I bet it does. I've saved another so will be back. Peace.
Great video Justin! You know your history. Xx
Thanks Julia 👍 I did my homework beforehand 😉
What a disappointment that was.....not hiking to Rome 😅
Just kidding. Looks like a great first day. Looking forward to the other days.
Now that would a long road….
@@JustinWhiting9 would have given at least loads of videos 😊
Walked the wall awhile back did five days, but stayed in accommodation & had the luggage transferred.
I really enjoyed it, especially the high country and the end at Arbeia in South Shields.
As regards the bus service from Carlisle to boness on solway. 4 buses a day and none on a Sunday. Taxi fare is £35 one way
Thanks Derrick 👍 Subscribe sir!
Great video, very informative. You had fantastic weather in Gods country! Your Lanshan looked well pitched, what height do you set your poles?
Cheers Ade 👍 God’s country indeed Gadgie 😉 Poles about 115cm plus or minus a few cm to suit pitch.
Pity you didn't get to Tullie House - opposite the castle - it is Carlisle's main museum and has a great section on the city's Roman history - sets you up for the walk. Although Carlisle is small with regards to it's built-up area and population, for the boundary area it covers, it is one, if not the, biggest in the UK. I did this walk last year, my first thru hike. Went with a walking holiday company and walked over 6 days - hotels every night, luggage transfer, guide (really good as they point out so much that you can easily miss)
I know Tullie House but not yet been inside. Will do on my next visit to Carlisle. 👍
Congratulations on your screen play (or is it called scripting 🤔) Maybe on the next trail we will see some Tarantino style sequences 😁 Anyway, you are really putting in a lot of effort and it does show 🙌
Of course, I didn't not fall for the bull trick 🙃 I am sure you waited about two hours for them to move 😂
Thanks Stefan, I do work hard filming on trail, thinking about different shots but also what to say (or not to say) to keep it flowing. Music really lifts the footage but editing always takes ages 🙄 Tricking the bullocks really worked! 🤠
@@JustinWhiting9 The bullock trick is being shown in the outtakes, right 😄 Yes, I believe it is a lot of work in all stages - but you are making people happy 🙌
Hi Justin. Just a quick enquiry. Parking the car in Carlisle. Time did you start from. Bowness. And. The main question. How did you get there from Carlisle. Looks a bit of a treck via bus. Early and a walk. But fine. If that’s what it is
Paul 👌
Hi Paul, Parking is cheap and easy to leave it for several days. Official Carlisle parking website.... www.carlisle.gov.uk/Residents/Car-Parkingnew/Car-Parks There are 2 car parks very close to the trail. One behind the castle, the other called The Sands which is where I parked. Easiest way to pay is online via MiPermit. The Sands car park ref is 712006 and you just input your licence number. Sat & Sun are free. Weekdays costs only about £4 per day, but only £2.80 per day if you pay before 8.30am or so. It's called the Early Bird tariff. You have to remember to pay each morning (set a reminder on your phone). Bus 93 or 93A from Carlisle bus station to Bowness-on-Solway costs about £7-8. cumbria.gov.uk/buses/93/ Very few buses per day. I caught the earliest one at about 6.30am and it took an hour. Double check weekend services, might not be running. Otherwise it's a taxi 15 miles. 👍
@@JustinWhiting9 thanks Justin.
Justin the 🐮 whisperer 🤣
😂
Excellent video. Hope the next 4 days are as enjoyable too.
This amazing trail got better and better Jase. 👌 Have you seen the trailer vid?
