In 1976 ish, a couple of mates and I were sitting in the set room on top of a mountain in Cyprus, listening to BFPS (British Forces Radio). It wasn't brilliant, but suddenly the DJ stated that some squaddie had asked for the B side of Blue Funkey Moped. None of us had heard Jasper's Magic Roundabout. Needless to say, we were almost wetting ourselves laughing. BFPS never played it again. A friend of mine partnered Jasper in a charity golf tournament a few years ago, and said Jasper was an ace bloke.

His original shows on LWT were about the time that Carrott in Notts came out, and were even better than this (IMHO). Just him in a rugby shirt and denim jacket with the ever present guitar. Ill have a guess at 1976-78ish? A couple of years later, for reasons that I won't go into, he somehow ended up round ours one Sunday for lunch, we went on to see him that evening at The Central Hall in Chatham. Very happy days.
