      I’ve never been a fan of his eponymous show or even his standup, but like so many of these killer videos, I watch anyway thinking that the truthfulness and the spark KN brings out in the guests will cause me to engage and be entertained. Haven’t been let down yet. Even other guests whose material or persona I almost seriously disliked, shine through in these videos thanks to Kevin and the format. Great series all the way. Kudos.

    I always wonder how people with an anxiety disorder can be super successful. The condition can be so debilitating.

    • @bluemeaford
      @bluemeaford 2 роки тому +5

      As a mental health clinician- from my experience- many individuals who have anxiety either have intergenerational trauma, childhood trauma or undiagnosed ADHD.
      All of which is treatable.
      Often anxiety is a symptom rather than a diagnosis.
      It’s unfortunate that many suffer needlessly with chronic anxiety without finding the underlying cause.
      (Again just based on my experience and education- not as a blanket statement)

    • @kybercrow
      @kybercrow Рік тому +2

      You have to lean into it. A lot of talents with anxiety disorders play upon that-they *use it.* If you try to pretend it's not real and build your life around a disorder, it'll do nothing but eat you up inside until you're a husk.
      I have debilitating social anxiety and my life immediately improved when I stopped fighting it and hiding it. When I'm asked why I don't want to go somewhere crowded, I no longer fabricate some lie as to why I can't go-I just tell the truth.
      Look at the singer, Sia. She has terrible stage fright and a fear of judgment, primarily of her appearance. What did she do? Instead of pretending like that wasn't the case and powering through to her own detriment, she adopted that signature face-covering wig and leaned *into* her weaknesses/fears. It became a quirk that propelled her brand and made her even more successful.

      Everyone's level of anxiety and experience with it is different from one another, and some people say they have anxiety but what they really have are stressors (stress being the real issue, anxiety just being a symptom of the stress) that they simply can't deal with properly (sometimes through no fault of their own, such as being a teller at a bank during a bank robbery), or just don't know how to deal with the stressors properly.

      @@bluemeaford I take exception to this. In my family anxiety runs through it from my coddled and beloved grandmother to cousins to siblings and there was no trauma. Many are very successful people, PhDs, MDs and we just were shakers. One nephew was the favored son and knew it. Incredibly loved and finally controlled it enough so he could do his PhD orals. I feel it is genetic. It might be due to trauma with some but I think this is wrong just from my experience and stigmatizes people and blames innocent people.

    One of the better hike/interviews, as Romano is quite an interesting man. I could have listened to him talk about his life, the vagaries of the comedy/entertainment business, and, yes, his anxieties for a lot longer. And it was good because he talked at length about certain topics and so the chat wasn't as choppy and all over the place as some of these can be. Many thanks.

    I loved Vinyl. I was hoping to see it make it to at least three seasons and possibly five. But, today, there are so many good shows on TV that even very good shows can still get cancelled after only one season.
    It would have been nice if they could have at least completed a second season and tied up all of the hanging story lines. It would have been nice to see some closure in the show, even if the show had to end with with a string of tragedies like characters dying from drug overdose, a plane crash, a drunk driving accident or if they had to go to jail for murder, fraud or drug possession.

    Kevin had the best idea! Just 2 people hiking, that’s where you can really talk deep about ones issues and feel like it’s just being released into the environment. If you get anxiety.... run up a steep hill and get tired, you’ll feel much better afterwards. Kev I’ve always been a fan since SNL so when you have your co stars on they’re my faves ❤️ just subscribed and take my walks to these and feel like we’re old friends 😁 peace and love 💕

    Cacti or Catcuses? It all depends on the cactus's preferred pronoun.

    Turns out Mr. Romano, ‘The Irishman’ was a very enjoyable, entertaining (if not entirely accurate), movie. Shame it had to knock 5years off your life....☘️
