'Your house was very small, with woodchip on the wall' and in a single line, he evokes a whole time and place - as someone who grew up in the 70s/80s in the north of England, this was completely recognisable to me.
Pretty sure your "Common People" review was the first of your videos I ever saw. You've since become one of the few reaction channels I subscribe to and watch on the regular.
You get the feel of it alright! I think many people have someone that they fancied in their past whom they wonder about. If things had have been different how it would have turned out?!? I think that's one reason this songs 'speaks' to so many!
Most of Pulps songs are very 'coming of age' and very good lyrically and a lot of fun. I think Different Class and His N Hers are both superb albums, I don't think theres a song I dislike on either of them, and I doubt you will either.
More essential *Pulp* hits: - "This Is Hardcore" (1998 - best experienced with the amazing official video) - "The Trees" (2001 - produced by Scott Walker!) - Jarvis Cocker - Fat Children (2005 - solo) - "Live Bed Show" (1995 - _Different Class_ ) And you are correct, "Disco 5000" was one of many anthems from that sweet Britpop Summer of '95: - Echobelly "King Of The Kerb" - Blur "The Universal" / "Charmless Man" - Supergrass "Alright" - St Etienne "Nothing Can Stop Us" - McAlmont & Butler "Yes" - Chemical Brothers "Life Is Sweet"
I Saw your reaction to Common People... Loved your reaction... the way you were boppin' along, then This was suggested... YES I Remember this song too now... Can't believe you never heard of this band.... I'f like to see your reactuon to a Canadian Band Me Mom & Morgentaler and their song oh well ua-cam.com/video/IPc1X8kfS7E/v-deo.html
I’ll die on the hill that this is the best pop song ever written.

Yep, I remember. From a Yorkshire lad.

This entire album is so good! It takes me back to my 20's in the late 90's running around Seattle
This was in my recommended, I love pulp. I just wanted to say that I love the name of this channel. 😂💀

I never use the word quintessentially, but this is quintessentially British 😁
I Spy and This is Hardcore are both great Pulp tracks worth reacting to.
“Gloria, Gloria…”

Great Song
Agreed! It’s in my regular song rotation. It’s so good!
please review ‘I spy’ by Pulp! It’s from the same album and has very interesting storytelling
You definitely need to check out Pink Glove, Babies and Do You Remember the First Time? They're brilliant Pulp songs.

A video of Jarvis singing at Deb's birthday is on youtube.
I've always loved 'Bad Cover Version' by Pulp but never mentioned in the top tunes so maybe just me on that one but I recommend anyway
I liked in the video when you had "Debora" making a fried egg on toast and hoping beyond hope that she isn't pregnant.
