Blizzard Shuts Down Interstate Travel out of Fargo, ND - 2/14/2023

- A #blizzard is ongoing in eastern #NorthDakota this evening. Very high winds and fresh snowfall have created zero visibility, forcing the North Dakota Dept. of Transportation to close Interstate 29 from Canada to the South Dakota border and Interstate 94 from Fargo to Jamestown, ND. Video includes footage of travel in low visibility on I-94 from Fargo to Casselton just before the closure, and I-29 on the north edge of Fargo, ND.
Shot Description
1) I-94 closed sign
2/3) Very low visibility and slow travel on I-94 just west of Fargo
4) Tow truck rescuing vehicle on I-94
5) North Dakota Highway Patrol protecting stuck vehicle, waiting for tow
6,7,8) Treacherous travel on I-94 in blizzard conditions, westbound I-94 traffic at stand still

10) I-29 on ramp, showing extremely low visibility

My good friend was stranded in the ditch for 14 hrs. So relieved she is ok.
Amazing how quickly things can go bad.

Safe travels to you here in the Fargo-Moorhead area… I went out earlier, not a good day to pick up a new car… and it was starting to get worse out there when I was out and about

That was me ahead of you at 2:20. I was able to push through in about an hour with a group of 4 and it finally cleared up enough to see the road.. But got hit by another white out just before Bismarck.. Nowhere near as bad and long lasting as Fargo, but I found it more dangerous due to how fast it came on us while we were traveling at higher speeds.
That wind is bad here in Fargo last I checked it was 63 mph gusts but then it got worse
that last scene, my morning commute goes off that exit lol
Been on that interstate in that spot and in a blizzard! Not fun! 😱😱😱😱

I live in Fargo. I have my entire life of 37 years. This has to be one of the worst. I just saw a video before this. I believe it was you from us a video I couldn’t recognize anything in town and I live right by downtown and then I finally recognized a little bit of downtown. Other than that I can see nothing. I’m hoping we’re done with stuff like that I am, but you never know. I also don’t know how anyone didn’t die because this was a bad one that is bad you can get

I don't understand how this closed status works if there are this many people out driving when it is closed?? Is this a suggestion and you can drive anyway? Just trying to get more info.
They close the highway entrance ramps. We were the ones that were on the highway already when the blizzard hit.
