The key is olaplex is not protein based. This is beneficial for those who are unable to tolerate too much protein in their hair. This is a major reason why I chose olaplex, especially since I am able to use it multiple times a week.

So I bought 3 and 6 and decided to do my hair because I am having issues with shedding. Unfortunately it was a disaster. I used the no 3 treatment for approximately 2 hours. Went in the shower and washed it out, I noticed it was being a little stiff. Anyways I have never used it or Olaplex so I just figured that's normal. I went in and used a shampoo and what happened next was ........I don't know what to say........my hair started getting harder and tangled immensely. I was unable to detangle I washed out the hair and added a mixture of conditioners and it did not help. I washed with a different shampoo and then half bottle of conditioner, the hair softened a little bit it was too late. I got extreme damaged I had to go to a salon and they took time to brush it out but unfortunately most of my hair broke off. I don't think it was the product perse, I honestly think it's because after washing out the treatment I went in with a clarifying shampoo. My hair is ruined significantly. The hair instantly matted and hardened......l am trying to tell myself it's just hair, going to cut it very short and let it regrow because at this point the hair broke from several areas and is very thin now and uneven......,lesson learned, going back to natural again.
Yes definitely the clarifying shampoo. I use a moisturising shampoo after olaplex 4 and a moisturing deep condioner after olaplex 3. I also layer number 3 with creme of nature plex pretreatment syrum, for 30 max under a plastic cap with no heat. Hope this helps and your hair is health again soon

She cut it very short and it still has thon areas but don't look too bad. Last night I washed it myself for the first time since above incident I did use Revolution 3 and 6 but followed up with my Chi products and It's a 10 Miracle Mask. I de-tangled diligently and I did a patch test in the back. My hair came out fine so it was definitely because of the shampoo I used. Thank you

This is supposed to be a dupe, so it's not going to have the same formulation as olaplex. A lot of people don't have $34 to spend on 100ml of no 3. So this revolution plex treatment is an alternative to achieve similar results. Here's what I found on the description for revolution plex: Revolution’s Plex triple molecular weight protein cascade system targets different layers of the hair fibre helping to repair and strengthen damaged from within. The Plex range not only contains the triple weight molecular protein system but each formulation has been expertly formulated to provide the best ingredients for the hair. Oh I totally get that Olaplex might too expensive. My point was there are plenty of good protein treatments that cost less than $14 for such a small bottle. Personally I use the op blonde n.3, it’s a closer dupe, the price range is similar but you get 250ml of product instead of 100ml. It’s an Italian brand, but I’m pretty sure it ships internationally

Great question! People who have the money to afford olaplex will buy it. The revolution treatment is a good dupe for people on a budget. I’m heavy-handed when applying products so the olaplex no 3 last me 2-3 uses. Olaplex has a value size bottle but it’s hard to find and expensive. So I like that the revolution one has a lot of product for many uses at a fraction of the price. Overall, I prefer the results from using olaplex no. 3 but I’ll be using the revolution plex treatment more often since it’s so affordable.
I have relaxed hair - olaplex lasts a long time. I agree the quality is so good you only need a little. I have tried olaplex 3, 4, 5, 6, and 9 not sure about the shampoo no.4 but the others are great. Been using them for just under a year and can see the diffrence in my fine shoulder length hair. Hope this helps someone.
