    I'm going to take a shot here and defend the Revolution line. I would LOVE to be able to afford the Olaplex products but I just cannot do that. I've got a family to feed and a mortgage to pay. I'm really grateful for the companies out there who try to make things more affordable for people like me. I know it won't be the exact same thing and that's ok because it's close enough for me until I can one day afford the real deal.

      The cheapest “plex” in the drugstore is Schwarzkopf’s “omega Plex” line of shampoo/conditioner/leave in, it goes on sale regularly. A step up would be the Tony and Guy “plex” line, which also goes on sale routinely. Idk why people think revolution is ripping of Olaplex, when plex has become short-hand for “re-bonding” and doesn’t reference olaplex itself.

      I agree totally with you. The price of olaplex is disgusting. And it's nice that companies understand that we all don't have stupid amounts of money to spend on ourselves. Some of us have to put bills and kids first. 🤣 I wouldn't call is a rip of company!

      @@kristinabryan3529 I tend to find that these have really good reviews, peppered with a few really terrible ones. Maybe try a strand for a few weeks and see if there's a difference. I tend to use the strand just behind the right ear, as it's easily hidden and my scalp is most sensitive there, so I cam gauge reactions of both my hair and scalp.

You really have been a lifesaver for my salon damaged hair( stylist colored it orange) I’m trying to use clarifying shampoos , once in a while, different shampoos and splurging olaplex 3, leave in repair, the oil and hair mask . I’ve also cut down on washing my hair to 2 t a week. Love your content🌸🌸

    I love your videos. They are informative, clear, and practical. I have been using Olaplex 3, 6,7,8 for a few months. I also only rarely use the bond smoother. I use it only when I over do the styling products. It almost instantly softens the hardness or crunchy feelings from too much hold.
    I agree with you about the shine and glossing. I also am noticing that my curly hair is less puffy and almost frizz free. I skipped an olaplex treatment like you did in this video and also did not get the same result. I started mixing the moisture mask, 8 with 3 in my pre shampoo treatment and am getting even better results. My hair is also becoming less dry, smoother, with more defined and separated curls!

    I just used the shampoo and conditioner for the first time yesterday and my hair has never felt as soft as it did!! I feel like it made my hair feel dry while in the shower and I thought the conditioner wasn’t as thick as I thought it would be BUT after my usual blow dry routine my hair felt SO soft!! I’m very happy with it after just 1 use.
    If anyone is wondering I have fine thin hair and not a lot of hair either. My scalp felt very clean doesn’t look greasy even on day 2 and my scalp starts to look greasy by day 2

      @@laurieclarkson9180 gosh, good question. Umm probably no 6, the bond smoother, which is the styling cream, as that I put in before I style and I also add some in between washes if my hair looks a bit fluffy. And obviously that stays in the hair and doesn’t get rinsed out, so I feel like it’s doing good all the time, if that makes sense. My hair was in a terrible state in Dec 2020, so much so that I was going to the hairdressers and getting it all cut off. I’d found pictures of short styles and was prepared for the lot too go. My hairdresser said don’t be hasty, try this first. So I did buy the complete range (and not from her, so it wasn’t that she saw me and was rubbing her hand together with £ signs in her eyes), but literally after just the very first use my hair was noticeably better. It was quite miraculous. And I got to keep my long hair.

I’m just using it to keep my hair as healthy as possible so I can grow it out more. As a college student I just can’t afford olaplex, but I can’t afford to get my hair professionally colored either. As always, thank you for the time stamps! I think my hair needs a break -- I am well into the initial loading period for K18, and it's taken all the texture, willingness to hold style out of my already style-resistant, pretty healthy hair. I never noticed Olaplex doing anything. I don't know that I'm the target audience for many of these -- minimally processed, healthy, style-resistant, never frizzy -- but I still want my hair as healthy as possible; for it to want to do anything, I think my cuticles need a bit of imperfect lifting. I think I may just stick to clarifying and Amika Kure, which I love.

    • @queenkoi
      @queenkoi 2 роки тому +3

      Judging from your hair description, you aren't at all the hair type these damage repair formulas are made for and that's a good thing lol 😄 you would likely receive more favorable results just maintaining the healthy hair that you already have. That being said, I don't think it is harmful to experiment with repair products. If you color or highlight incorporating something like olaplex into your routine is likely a good thing. K18 is nice for that because applications are infrequent after the initial few uses.
      If you find a product is making the hair less manageable I'd discontinue that particular product but if your enjoying it and your hair responds favorably then it's all good ❤️

      @@queenkoi Elizabeth -- thank you for your advice. I agree 100%. I am 2 wash cycles now away from K18. It's not that I don't get split ends, but my hair is naturally extremely slippy. If Abbey's is super tangly, mine is its mirror image. I'm at a place now where I can't even keep a hair tie in it without crushing it to smithereens. I want to keep it optimally healthy, so I've given these things a shot!!

    Hi Abbey. I might give it a shot. My hair is in good shape since all the lockdowns. I stopped coloring, and seldom use any heat, at all.

    I've been using Olaplex for about a year or so now because of hair damage that stemmed from thyroid issues. I want to switch to a different shampoo and I've been binging on your UA-cam videos. I have thin to medium hair that's mostly straight but does have some natural wave when I let it air dry. I'm trying to decide between the Redken Acidic Bond Concentrate and the Pureology Strength Cure. Do you have a recommendation? I just feel like my hair is way too used to the Olaplex and it feels dry and flat to me. Thanks Abbey!

    Would love a video reviewing Briogeo's new "Rice Water Protein + Moisture Treatment". I know you have had bad experiences in the past with rice water, but this weekly treatment is purported to deliver the perfect protein and moisture balance. Because I struggle with maintaining a balance between protein and moisture in my haircare, I would really appreciate your thoughts on whether using this product would help resolve this dilemma.

    Have you heard of ph plex, it's a 2 step product that you use like olaplex 1 & 2 in bleach or also as a stand alone treatment. I have used them on occasion when I couldn't get olaplex 1&2 and found step 1 seems to work just as good but step 2 isn't much different than any other after bleach/color treatment.
