    Great video, thank you John. 6.42 aerial view of the junction of the Hinckley railway spur. Apparently built but never opened to traffic.

    John, really cool video. Any idea what type of base this was? Fighters, bombers, etc.? That old building looked like your classic American quonset hut to me. So your dad took an in-service RAF aircraft, during wartime, to take his wife on a family vacation? How did he ever do that? Clever man!

      The base was transport and training. I think some Americans were based there too. And yes the aircrew often got up to various tricks. My dad told me when was on the Berlin Airlift he ‘liberated’ a few items including a small arms Luger.
