He's right. The original 5 (R.I.P. Trini) are freaking legends. They will always be remembered. I still remember watching "Day of the Dumpster" when I was in the 3rd grade. I thought that was the coolest show I've ever watched and I didn't miss and episode for 10 years.
I was in 3rd grade too when I saw the first episode.
Actually during the try outs of the show they had a Puerto Rican girl for the take and Thuy Trang but the Hispanic chick sucked at the end and they chose the cute Asian hottie Trini
Actually the Hispanic chick wanted increase pay and she got fired for it.
Robert Carrillo actually the Hispanic chick was way too intense so she was recast
I was in 3rd grade too! Introducing my kid to it now.
Meet Austin when I was 10 yrs old at a car show in Houston where he was walking around casually. My dad asked him if he didn't mind taking a photo. He said "sure no problem". Awesome guy! Had to be around 94-95.
What is crazy is he was the leader of the team but the youngest actor lol
He was also the widest dude there!
Man, people forget just how BIG Power Rangers really was!!! GO GO POWER RANGERS!!!
I never forgot, the show's popularity was unreal. There were tons of Power Ranger toys, t-shirts and video games everywhere you went, discussions about it in school even little kids imitating the martial arts etc.
And people don't even mention what influenced power rangers, it's super sentai.
I stop haven’t forgotten . I grew up with MMPR I tried so hard back in 1994 to go to their show at Universal Studios but it was sold out quick !
Dict Saurus, that’s the same as Robotech, we will never get to really experience the original forms of the shows that were reproduced into the ones we knew in the West. It’s a shame.
I met Austin and hes very polite and not stuck up at all. I paid to have one picture of him he gave me 5 and took the time to talk with me for quite sometime despite the line behind me. This guy took the time with each fan and he was nice to everyone. In the PR fandom it seems you're either in camp Tommy or camp Jason. Im camp Jason, but respect jdk too. Great people both.
Jesse Tellez bro u mean jdf
I met him two days ago at a con he was so cool and gave my sister and I a hug! He really does take the time to talk to his fans. I like both of them.
JDF was cool, but after listening to an interview with him, I lost some respect. ASJ all the way.
Jesse Tellez am a fan of Jason & Tommy
Chris Earnhart u must have met the wrong guy or u weren’t nice so he wasn’t nice to u or u just got the wrong impression or he wasn’t & that’s the way u remember it & but that didn’t happen or ur just making stuff up or u just don’t like him
It is a shame that saban has refused to give them residual of the billions of dollars the cast brought them.
blackstarafro2 no kidding huh I say sign a petition for equal residuals regarding the old school rangers even the original yellow ranger r.i.p for her family at least
The Mark Hamil picture in the background, cool
He met Carrie Fisher too.
Yes. Mind... almost (hey, they're normal people, they can meet)... BLOWN :)
Jonathan Buchanan Heroes have Heroes. I have met Austin st John but have never met Mark Hamil
And is that a photo with Jason Momoa to his left.
I'd love to see Luke having a sword fight with Tyrano ranger haha
Saban clearly ripped them off. Despite PR huge success, these guys had very low salary . I'm glad now with the internet and all these cons, the original casts are able to make $$$ as they becoming popular again.
I met Austin last week at Indonesian con, awesome guy. He's visibly tired (last day & last session when I met him) but he's still willing to talk and even joke with the fans while signing and taking photos.
They need to stop bringing back Tommy and bring back Jason. The original leader!
He’s returning next year!!!
@@harveyquezada1056 Tommy is not in beast morphers
Gillian Wilson I was referring to Jason
This comment resonated so much. Constantly bringing JDK back over and over like he's the *only* legendary ranger.
Wow Austin saw the sincerity in your eye's. Those awesome memories defined a generation. To myself and millions of other's I was the red ranger as a kid. We loved you guy's, and still do I would love to see you guy's get back together in a movie bringing back the original mmpr except for trinie,so sad but yeah love you man thanks for an amazing childhood.
Israel Clough The pleasure was all ours! -ASJ
Fanward wow thanks man, really didn't think you would take the time to talk to a fan. I appreciate that man you are awesome and I was wondering are you and the old crew doing any power rangers remakes on UA-cam or a movie studio? I understand your a busy man and don't expect a response but man would I love to see a reunion episode evan if it's a low budget you tube thing it would be awesome!! People when I was younger would always ask me why I liked power rangers so much it looks so fake!! I would tell them that the concept is awesome with a little imagination power rangers are some of the coolest super hero's ever and I will never stop loving the rangers 😁
Israel Clough - Fanward is just a team of people who got together for the point of helping artists like Austin do consistent vlogs. (See our channel intro video). When a response comes from ASJ, that is word for word his response. We at Fanward don’t make up responses for him. So those questions about his future plans with other Rangers and so on, we at Fanward would love to see that kind of stuff too!! We don’t know everything he has in the works, we do stay in touch with him on a regular basis, and when he can let the Fandom know about upcoming projects, then he often calls us up help him shoot a vlog about it, like we did with his Online Store vlog. Super cool that you like our concept here at Fanward! Hope you keep up with us because we have a lot more content coming your way from all the artists we are working with! Thanks for the support, comments, and suggestions! - Sincerely, David Blair - Founder and CEO of Fanward
Fanward I appreciate you clearing that up and yeah I'm subbing and would love to help support the channel. I'm broke cause I've got 4 kid's at home but I'll watch any pr content put out and am hopeful for the future of power rangers. Like I said an amazing concept all it needs is a descent budget and imo would easily rival marvels mcu.
Israel Clough - Raise those kids brotha! We have investors, we aren’t asking for money, we just hope fans like what we are doing and keep coming back!
My dad waited outside toys r us at 5 am to get me a megazord in a massive crowd. Some lady offered him like $200 but he said no cuz he knows i would of been devastated 😂 i freaked out when i got it of course & thought it was the coolest toy ever cuz the show.
That's why I'm glad I had a Consumers back then. I got the book from the store that had the Megazord in it. Went to the store and got from their stock before the show aired. It was so great to have it during the first episode.
Mezmerized4Life Jay Such a cool memory and good for your dad! Lol. Honestly man Thank you for sharing! Our team at fanward love reading about everyone’s memories and moments!!
I cant find my dang toys. Think someone stole them during move. We waited at toys r us too
I still have my Megazord and Dragonzord, and the Dragon dagger an Saba saber from when I was a kid. No boxes of course, but they sit on my shelf in all of their MMPR glory
When I was a kid i was in line at the Astrodome to see Austin St John and I felt this arm come around me and i look up and there he was with his arm around me. It was the most Epic moment ever.
Let Saban know I was the biggest MMPR fan but stopped watching when they changed Jason, Zack and Trini
xavier r same
Me too
xavier r agree
me three
@@mhuirnin3722 How did you get it? :0
He is a great story teller! I love this.
My best birthday to this day was back when I was 9 and my mom got me the action figures of the entire team!!! The ones where their heads would flip to their helmets!!! Best birthday ever!!!
I love how he says " Original 5 " Lol fuck the green ranger lol
My brother saw Ninja Turtles at Universal.... I saw The POWER RANGERS in 1994 and then again for the tour at the Los Angeles Coliseum, I still remember defeating Lord Zed With My Holographic Card !
Magic Journeys I saw mine in New York at Nassau coliseum
I saw both in LA too!
It was funny that the tour was called the Coming Out of Our Shell tour. Because, it sounded gay. As a kid in the 80s, it was very funny.
Was it the out of their shells tour for TMNT?
Its funny cause even when i was in school, the cool kids and the nerds watched Power Rangers, it was universally loved.
The LEGENDARY RANGER!! Best ranger of all time!! RED TO GOLD BABY!!
Sorry tommy😏
If I ever meet him..He's gonna have to deal with me calling him Jason. :P
BigK0003-Well it's actually his name! Lol.
Yrs after growing up and watching this, he’s still the leader of the rangers! He’s amazing in person! So glad bought infinicon tix met him and Karen Ashlee and my daughter got to see the heroes I grew up with. Def got go and see
His real name is actually Jason believe it or not.
Yeah Jason Geiger, ASJ is his stage name
I was there. It was pandemonium! I still have the photo handouts from that day :)
Yeah, you think Saban would have that on home video somewhere that can be released for us.
I was there! I still have pictures !!!thanks dad I love you !!
I was ACTUALLY there for this. It was late afternoon, so I think it was probably the second or third show they did that day. My dad took me. I didn't get any toys because they had sold out. I was really upset about that. Still, it was great seeing the cast. Everyone had such a HUGE appreciation for us showing up.
I love the expression on his face at the end. You can tell he has the look of “how did the hell did I get this”?
i saw both the PR Live & PR Tour but the PR Live was my fav. my Mom & Dad skipped work just to take me & my twin sis to see u guys Live & we caught the 2nd show & still managed to get some toys b4 they sold out. i still have them in my locked crate in my garage but my dad was ready to leave & take us with him but we told him to stay & it was well worth it. although my dad insisted to never do something like that ever again cuz hes a workaholic but sometimes he needs to spend time with us
Omg I saw you on MMPR toys commenting
i miss those days, couldn't miss an episode right after school back then, still a big fan
I know back then, if you missed an episode, you were out of luck and had to listen to your friend tell you about it the next day.
kody noble what I wouldn’t do to go back to those amazing times!! Couldn’t wait to get home to snack and watch the power rangers!! The original cast!
Amazing to hear the passion and enthusiasm he still has. Him and JDF are the best ambassadors this franchise ever could've asked for.
I'm almost crying! Thank you!
And that is why Jason was cooler than Luke or Kirk.
This series is a fantastic treat for fans.
This was like watching Will Smith. Loads of charisma and energy. I’ve always loved Austin and his character.
To me you will all way be the best Ranger
RIP Yellow
my side, it was so deafing loud. and the people were being turned away due to fire safty codes. i was 11 but man it was just awesome.
What’s crazy is in your head you’re remembering all those little kids in the audience going crazy for the power rangers and we are all in our mid 30’s now. And when I see you or watch an episode of mmpr I’m right back to being 7 years old again excited for the afternoon because its morphin time!!
Austin St John you were the greatest , I loved the power rangers ever since they came out. I remember when the green ranger came out and I missed an episode, I felt so hopeless at that time. But I loved watching them. My second favorite season was power rangers in space,
He has to be red ranger again
Or at least in a mentor role
He will return as Jason in beast Morphers
Everything about the 90s was wild. That was kind of our motto. Lol.
If you needed to recover from those camera flashes like it was a Star Trek ship going into lightspeed...I guess you needed a Lightspeed Rescue? ;P
UltimaKeyMaster
best joke ever. i love it
def in the top 5 best seasons
I was I think a Freshman in high school around this time. At the time I knew the popular opinion would be that I was “too old” to like Power Rangers. I didn’t care though. I loved the show - especially the first few seasons.
I even bought a yin yang necklace and wore it against a white shirt. ^_^ In my mind I was the White Ranger.
Time has gone by, and I’ve got my own kids now that are getting close to the same age that I was then.
One thing a realized is things that you really love never change regardless of your age, so it’s best to disregard the voices from others that try to persuade you otherwise or may not understand, and just love what you love.
I hope I can instill that in my kids.
By the way, later in life, in a somewhat of a interesting twist of fate, I was contacted by a recruiter while living in Japan and as a result worked at Bandai America for several years supporting the people who developed Power Ranger toys for the U.S. Crazy.
Love what you love, and don’t let anyone convince you otherwise.
I remember that first show.....i still get Supper Hyped when i think of it.
Supper Hyped is a great name for a burger/wing/beer joint!
Who wants to go to Supper Hyped?
Austin St John On Fanward
It's Awesome 😀😀👍👍
Thanx man for making my childhood awesome.never let that feeling go
Austin is an awesome story teller
you know you hit it big when you are on the same stage MJ and Madonna preformed
I do community theater in the Perry Warner Robins area of Georgia. At 6:45 in the video Austin St. John mentions no do-overs, take twos and so forth. Just cover it up and if you make a mistake then just do it and don't let anyone know. I did 1776 in Perry in 2005, I messed up a line during a performance and I didn't let ANYONE know that I did. I got teased a little bit from fellow cast members but I messed the line and just went with it. It happens. Kudos to Austin for doing that stunt with everything that was going on. I don't think I could have done that if I were him.
I met Jason when I was a kid and he autographed my silver Zordon statue. I never forgot that day.
No one is better than Austin St.John he is just an amaising person the original red renger goooooo Jason. For Ever Red Austin St.John All The Way.
I was there that day i was 4 years old me and my twin sister, me and family live literally 10mins away from Universal (no freeway) it took us over an hour to get there i had my red ranger costume on
Easily the best moment of my childhood I was an absolute awe at seeing the Rangers
His comic con pics in the background are awesome!
Your story is a very big example that even a small descision, that might not seem much in the beginning can end up into being something huge! One role and you ruled over the hearts of million and are still ruling. Much love man! Much love!❤
@6:12 That's fucking bad ass. I could only imagine the feeling.
Thanks for the backstage pass wow sounds like an epic rock show for sure and you rolling from a back jump and springing forward into a kata shows the drive determination enthusiasm you guys had which makes the original cast the most beloved still today you def almost "broke a leg" and thats what showbiz is about . Again thanks for sharing those fantastic moments God Bless
Long live Jason the Original Red Ranger!
That's so awesome man. Found ur channel this morning. Takes me back. I still have my red ranger outfit that my mom got me for christmas. I feel blessed to have found your channel. Take care.
Zack and Jason were my favs, Tommy's rivalry with Jason was epic but he was ranked 3rd for me. I LOVED IT when Zack used the Dragonshield's power.
Shame was for just a short time
That is an epic story asj!!
The whole world was hyped back in the days , me to. 🔥
this was amazing i was an infant but my mom showed me the video of us there when i was alittle older and i see my self freaking out as a baby
I AM NOT ASHAMED I AM TURNING 19 THIS YEAR
AND I STILL LOVE POWER RANGERS
@Chicken Bubblegum Cheers Man
Power Rangers for life
Im 33 still love them lol.
ASJ is such a fantastic storyteller.
I was there for that...I don't really remember it, cause I was 4, but I was there in the nosebleads and I'm pretty certain I loved it.
I remember when the power rangers first came out - years later my boys loved them too (they are now 15 and 10) The red ranger was always our favorite 😉
Best voice red ranger. Best 6th ranger. Gold Zeo. Love you Jason!
AUSTIIIN! You are the best. Your "It's MORPHING TIME" will never be outdone. :-)
Hearing this story straight from the horse's mouth is really awesome.
I can’t wait to see my favorite childhood Austin St. John the original Red Ranger back to action soon on TV agin is Morphing time.
the best rangers are the original 5 and you are their leader ...the true leader of the rangers
When I got my Dodge Challenger it HAD to be “TorRED”(Dodge name for bright red)And when I drive it wearing my red power ranger hoodie...I feel like the red ranger. I feel like I’m ploughing through traffic as in the Tyrannozord. It feels amazing. I still have yet to meet my childhood hero
Austin you will always and forever be the true leader of the power rangers. And I SO WISH I could've been there to see that show as a kid.
Austin is such an old school guy, I love it
Man I remember when they showed that it was a new show coming to fox kids when I was at daycare after school, I was 7. I went crazy by just seeing that. Lol I watched faithfully everyday
The first memory I have was being 4 years old standing in my grandparents living room and discovering the original power rangers.
Now thats how u do a interview thanks for making this u should really make more of these.
I begged my parents to take me to the PR tour and they did, in Dallas. Man I still remember it to this day. It was so awesome!
They finally re-released this! Been looking for it for years!
Talk about your experience in the "forever red" episode.
...oh its coming...
Madonna was like a virgin.... RIGHT HERE!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Greatest Red Ranger
It was an incredible time to be alive for everyone. Even adults enjoyed being adults in the early 90s.
that story was amazingly awesome to hear hear from Austin. the original red ranger of mighty morphing power rangers. i love hear from the original power cast. i was and still am a big fan. the first power ranger team was the best. they always will be forever one of the greatest superhero teams one all time. thank you to the whole cast of mighty morphing power rangers and the people who worked on the show. i still watch the mighty morphing power rangers to this day. i will be 29 in june of 2018. i still like wearing my power ranger hat, t-shirt, and the communicator watch. while carrying around the morpher in my pocket. i am a great be nerd of the mighty morphing power rangers 1st team. i will never stop watching it. now matter how old i get. thank you for being the best superhero team of all time.
I was 2 when MMPR first premiered. When I got older, I'd watch it when I'd come home from school. Kimberly Hart was my idol. I wanted to be just like her. I literally used to wear nothing but pink so I could be the pink ranger too.
Thank you for sharing! Great vid! You inspired me when i was a young kid in the 90s. Appreciate the posts!
I love you man you and tommy are still my favorite power rangers of all time
😇I believe you Austin. You seem like a good guy and I don't think you would do something like this and even if you did, no one has any right to judge you about that it's hard to make money in this economy it's even harder to get and keep a job. I'm rooting for you man.👍
Will always be my favorite Ranger
Memories indeed!. I was one of those kids. 5+ hours but I got to see u guys. :)
And he has a pic in the back with Luke Skywalker...holy f**k. This dude is still my hero... Next to the green ranger punking out van damm lol
i wish u inserted clips.. ive been imagining the whole 8mins 😂😍😍😍
Definitely a memory he'll never forget :D.
You guys were our Madonna or Michael Jackson, no you were better...you gave imagination to us 90s kids you taught us right from wrong, how to be a good friend, and to never give up in the face of adversity, you my friend were the Mighty Morphan Power-Rangers.
Huge LOL at the furious parents not getting toys comment! Even during the holidays back then, the scars that came from hunting for MMPR toys was insane! Grateful for Netflix to still relive some of memories
I remember this when I was 14 years old. I wanted to go but couldn’t get tickets to it. I heard it was crazy. The 101 freeway was backed up. It was at old universal amphitheater.
Those reporters missed a perfect joke. They should have called the traffic jams the "Morphing gridlock"
Back to those days when performance came from the heart..
The way you tell the story, I've been there, Austin, I've been there.
One of my friends in 4th grade went to a power rangers event (not this one) and brought back a bunch of autographs. I remember that Trini’s name was misspelled “Treeny” on her autograph 😂
That black Megazord toy in the background looks sick.
That would fit right in a Super Robot Wars game
Love those classic toys in background
