Lulu, just a suggestion. Think about adding a “reflective tape” across the back of your great cargo box. Just thinking that it might be questionable for another driver to see at night. We had one on the back of our 5th wheel. It was very nice.

I’m a great fan of the box. I had a Thule box it carried my skis, kayak equipment radio controlled plane. It lasted over 30 years. I loved it. Mine was on the roof of my Subaru. Never diminished my miles per gallon. You will be so happy you have it. Good luck with it. ❤

Vehicles have weight limits on axles and now you are displacing weight on the rear of the vehicle and then when you add a second level that displacement becomes greater when you add more weight.
The further out from the center of the back axle, you’re doubling the weight.
Also a Safety suggestion: Cover your license plate when videoing.

hello!! the unit holds 100 pounds or storage and the hitch and box together weighs about 90, so 190 is the weight of an average man. I think the van was made to hold that little weight in the back. like if a person was sitting and traveling in the back of the van, that's how little weight. so I am not concerned whatsoever. I have carefully considered my license plate being in sight and I've decided that for me it doesn't matter, just a personal decision. I'm so glad you enjoy my channel and I sure hope to meet up one day too!! even the Ozark Trail lounge chairs are 22" wide. I'll keep looking! 😊

I was thinking of a bike rack because you like exercising. Another box would interfere with the rear doors also, you are fussy about appearance and this would emphasize your van is not sufficient. Kind of like having a house with extensions. I find they are an eyesore 😊.

it does claim to hold 100 pounds, but not sure if that's more spread out or if it could handle it in one spot the size of a generator. maybe in the middle spot, right on the hitch would be the best spot for a very heavy item!!
