Both didn't make it through the full season
AR15 was a running QB, Bryce wasn't. JD will have to pick his spots because if he makes running a major part of his game, he's gonna get snapped in two.

I watched Jaylen last night for the first time ever on his Pro Day (PD). I caught about 10 to 15 throws, went, “Wow!” then caught some LSU highlights and returned to watch the rest of his PD. He reminds me a lot of CJ Stroud, what with that release and arm. He was hitting guys on his PD 60 yards downfield on the money - he only had a couple overthrows - and he’s the real deal. When Jaylen throws the ball comes out really quickly and it has a smoke trail coming off it.
For sure Jayden is a top tier talent, it doesn’t hurt either the fact that CJ is one of his good friends and he’s been working out with him. Probably picked up some good habits.
Stop it! His arm is average at best. He throws with very underwhelming velocity and has ball placement issues. You can't watch highlights and pro days and reach a determination that he's "the real deal." This is complete nonsense! Respectfully

Not worried about size. Kurt Cousins, Jordan Love, Trevor Lawrence, etc. not every quarterback looks like Cam Newton.
I 100% agree he doesn’t need space to throw. I do worry he uses a little too much “arm” on a lot of his throws (and not stepping into it using his core), but still it is impressive. He can power up that ball and really torque it without even stepping into the throw.
Assessing college QBs is the most difficult thing. JaMarcus Russell, Ryan Leaf, Akili Smith, among others were all raved pre draft. Even Johnny Manziel had a good pro day workout. Young QBs have to have the right: Offensive coordinator and a good supporting cast to succeed. So many promising young QBs have been destroyed early and discarded because they were rushed and put into situations where they had little chance to succeed (Couch, David Carr, etc). I wish Caleb and Jayden well. Hopefully, they will succeed right away like CJ did last year.
I Hate the Way Fans Look at pro Days....It is basically a personally interview...throwing in Shorts with no Defense.....Who cares?? Best pro day ever was Jamarcus Russell That says it all.

I read his release time is 2.91, that's a sack in the NFL or a fumble. So he can't read defenses? 2.91 seconds is way too slow to make up your mind. I sure hope the Raiders don't waste 3 or 4 first round picks to move up for such a player. Aidan O'Connell in his 2nd start posted a 2.13 release time. Other teams will see this. Some will think they can correct it. Jury is out.
I don't really care about pro day workouts, and a guy missing a few throws or being a little off target isn't that big of a deal to me either. But what did raise an eyebrow from me was some of the late timing and lack of anticipation on Daniels throws during this workout. There was multiple instances of his receivers waiting for the ball to arrive. In a completely controlled environment with his own receivers, that shouldn't be happening.

I saw dimes and a I saw receivers not running the full speed of the anticipated throw. They were out there jogging and he’s slinging it.
This is what you will see on his game tape too. He wouldn't throw until a receiver was open. Complete lack of anticipation. That plus his pressure to sack ratio are HUGE red flags and the reason i will be sick to my stomach if we take him over Drake Maye.

i thought Daniels was late on every out pass and curl. The ball should be in the air before the receiver finishes the move and right on him as he comes out of the break. i suppose it can be taught.

I understand the point you’re trying to make…..but just comparing two players can give you any result you want…
A more accurate comparison would be to have a larger sample size of QBs .
Honestly though,the odds are higher that a “running “ qb that is thinner has a higher chance of their legs not being able to hold up as well as someone who has a body that can absorb more of the punishment…that’s just common sense…I’d rather get into an accident in a Cadillac than I would in a Mini Cooper.
I remember that day when RG3 got hit …up until that happened,he was unstoppable.

I thought Daniels looked uninterested and not terribly engaged through the throwing drills. Lackadaisical drop backs with loose feet, no urgency, mediocre accuracy. That said, I think his pro day was about meeting him, the interviews, and letting Nabers show off so it doesn't mean too much.

It's bursitis, what you are seeing is the bursa sack filled with fluid. I'd say it's a result of his throwing style. I also say it will become a problem down the road. Most QB's drafted will fail. Those are facts. Just look at SF. Their QB was drafted last and replaced a very similar QB to Daniels who in Trey Lance was traded and is in the bust category until further notice.

He didn’t throw with any anticipation. Players had to stop and wait for the ball. I don’t think it was that special.

If I'm the Bears, I would think long and hard about trading down to #2 with the Commanders and take Daniels instead. Washington is an ideal fit for Willams with Klingsbury now there as the new OC. They should send that #2 pick, along with that 2nd Rd (#40) they got from the Bears in the Montez Sweat trade, for the #1.
The Bears should then package that pick (#40) with their #9, and send to ARI for the #4. Then I'd draft Nabers. We might be looking at a Burrow/Chase dynamic right out the gate in CHI
This is a deep draft and to only have 4 picks is horrible. The Packers have 11 picks in this draft, 11picks! When saw that I said this is how they turn it around so quickly. They keep draft capital. If I can trade back a couple of times I would. Trade that 1st for for the number 2 and a second round and that 9th for the 12 and a 3rd this year and 3rd or 4th rounder next year.

Caleb Williams pro day workout was the worst QB workout out I've ever seen. Dude was so nonchalant it was ridiculous.
Unimpressive to say the least. Wobbly, off-target throws everywhere on a day when everything should be crisp. No bueno.
So who had a an great pro day to you? Caleb williams had an awful pro day to imo. Bo nix would be heading to Chicago by this metric. JD had an awesome pro day compared to the others so far.

Nobody like to talk about JD's aggressive running and unwillingness to slide or protect himself. Alabama didn't have a problem with him because Dallas Turner, in a clean hit, knocked his butt out of the game. Who thinks it will get easier in the NFL? Richardson is more powerfully built and his running got him knocked out for almost the whole year in 2023.

Everyone is wrong! All of these guys will be a bust. They all get to go play for dysfunctional teams. I'm a Commanders fan so believe me when I say I wish it wasn't so. The Commanders should get all they can for the #2 pick and build the ground work for a top QB free agent next year. The top four are all gambles as we all know. Williams might be as good as he will ever be. He is special, in college, but that does not mean a thing in the NFL. Daniels is good as well as Maye, but both of them need a lot of work to become NFL starters. JJ McCarthy? Are the bet takers putting out hype videos and press rumors to increase betting? He may be good but he threw like 50 passes in college (yes I'm being sarcastic). He has very little experience and will struggle to adjust to the NFL if he is expected to start this year. Nix, Penix Jr., and Rattler have better chances of success because they will land on teams that are all ready pretty good and won't be depending on their young QB's to make them great.

So far, JJ McCarthy has had the best pro day by far. And he's been playing in a pro system under NFL coach Jim Harbaugh for three years! I'm 49ers fan. When Harbaugh became the coach we wanted him to get rid of draft bust Alex Smith. But Harbaugh developed him into a serviceable game managing QB that led us to the playoffs. This is why i think JJ should go #1
