Previously I have used some heavy degreasing(Prickbort) plus a round with strong dilution on the snowfoam using either Bilt Hamber Autofoam, Nerta Active Diamond or Washking Diamond Active Foamwash and then finished off with hand wash using Chemical Guys - Citrus Wash & Gloss in wax-strip dilution. But this was a great tip! So thanks, will try it! :)
I’ll follow this method thanks. Applied a sealant a few weeks ago but would like to wax my car now with fusso coat. I’ll be using built hamber snowfoam and Koch chemie pol star apc
The only ways to strip fresh protection you’ll need to polish, isopropyl alcohol or a vary strong degreaser like citrol 266. I’ve tried so many strip products and literally none work unless the protection is already failed or failing. Claying the paint with a clay bar (not a mitt or towel) can help to abrade away old protection as well.
New subscriber here. Just found your video after wondering if i need to scrub by hand after foam cannon application of my stripper. Or if i can cheat and just foam and rinse lol. I guess I'll scrub. 👊💯😎
What product do you use to strip wax in a wash that is a store product because don't have a wash product that does it because last time today used a clay bar to get rid of the wax. But now minimizing my products so don't have too much of the same products at home.
@Charles Hines using the method in the video probably wouldn’t even remove a wax nevermind anything else, yh time seems to work, I put autoglym ceramic spray sealant on my car and had it on all winter and I was using bilt hamber auto foam every 2 weeks and that’s high PH and that done nothing over 6 months and I had to polish it and I had to use dedicated strips wash shampoo 4 times to get rid of it, the chemical guys one I saw a really review on google so I bought it and it never even touched it so after that used garage therapy one and that took a good few hits and it wasn’t even a proper ceramic coating which was over 6 months old
An easy way to figure out impact ratios is changing the measurements into ml, 5% of 5L isn’t too easy so it’s easier to find 5% of 5,000ml (also 5L). We do this by multiplying 5,000ml by 0.05 which equals 250ml. Whatever the literage is, turn that into ml and whatever the percentage is, turn into a decimal and muliply them. Another example is a 10L bucket and a 8% impact ratio: 10,000 x 0.08 = 800ml of solution to a 10L bucket which will provide you a 8% impact ratio
Yes you can strip paint sealants off if they have been on there for a while otherwise you're not getting it off unless you polish It off. This is one of the biggest misconceptions in auto detailing
Wrong , using The correct product can remove sealants or waxes that are new, I don’t think the products mentioned in the video will strip the wax or sealants
@@anth115 ez car care reset is good but need to be careful as it’s strong and may damage things like chrome so best to spray on to cloth or mitt then rub on to panel , TFR’s are good but again need to be careful , garage therapy decon shampoo but with that might need a couple of hits for freshly applied wax or sealant

I Surfex my car at 10% weekly then use auto foam then use auto wash & my Sonax wax is untouched which I’d expect as all these Bilt products are LSP safe, what on earth was on your car to wash away that easy? This video makes Bilts products look dangerous & they certainly are not!
It was a Carnauba wax but I can't remember which exactly. This method only works as well on LSP that's towards the end of its lifespan. I use BH Auto Foam on most washes and definitely wouldn't expect it to impact fresh protection. Surfex at 10% is quite concentrated though, I can imagine it being pretty harsh on a lot of other waxes and sealants
@@JZS171-W they are not ph neutral products so they will slowly have a affect on lsp but not a lot and would take many many hits to see the affects but they can’t strip wax’s or sealants, need something like poorboys strip down which can even strip a lot of fresh wax’s and sealants

One of the rare detail pros who talks about panel impact ratios of these chemicals! Really under appreciated concept!! You GO GIRL! ❤

I reckon you’d get away with just applying the foam if the wax was really on it’s last legs, but the mitt definitely helps! 😊
super helpful thank you
Really like this idea as I've got tonnes of product and didn't want to buy some decon shampoo as well...
To be honest this is a very old video and I think decon shampoo is a better option now I’ve tried it
Maybe one day Bilt Hamber will be sold in the States. Great detailing 101 video!👍
Thanks for watching! I’m really surprised they don’t already, their products are really popular in the UK.
It is sold there now

I think Garage Therapy /ZERO: Decontamination Shampoo is a good option 😊
Hi, why wouldn’t you just go straight onto the panel with the Surfex HD in the foam cannon?
You can and lots of people do as a prewash but not great as a contact wash as there’s not brought lubrications like a dedicated car shampoo

its just because it doesn’t tend to cling that well to the paint without the foam
