In this video Dusty will teach you how to install Upper and Lower control arms to your truck.
Control Arms: carlisuspensio...
Great how to video. Love the chainsaw scrench and the use of the wood file. Use what ya got, adapt and overcome.
That humor is gold mate
Love your neighborhood. Look at all that space!
Neverseezing bolts reduces the friction on the threads. If you torque them to the dry torque spec you will over torque them. Being these are probably grade 8 bolts probably not a big deal. Neverseezing wheel lug bolts is a common way people over torque their wheel lugs. Nice work.
Interesting. The interwebs say to reduce the torque by 25% to compensate for the anti seize
Great video good 👍🏼infrastructure information keep it up love that 2nd gen content .
Thanks. We love 2nd gens also. More good stuff coming soon !
Use a rubber mallet it won’t ding up ur Purdy parts 👍
The struggle to get the bolt in is real, when one man is doing it.
That's a nice 2nd gen 👌
About time someone makes videos for 2nd gen owners on this stuff. I put a 3" lift on mine. After installing the control arms I have wheel wobble when I turn. I can't figure it out. Maybe you could make a video on how to adjust the camber bolts after upgrading control arms ?!?
Take it to an alignment shop. Setting toe for steering is easy enough but something like caster angle I’d definitely get it aligned
@@Dirtyol12valve thank you 👍
What didn't you put the back bolt in first then use the adjustment cam to move the Axle? Instead of the tractor 🚜
Im trying to put new control arms on my 00', running into the issue with the exhaust placement, how hard was it for you to get a tool to fit without disconnecting the y-pipe? I really don't want to do that if i dont have to
Use anything other than the swivel
I just used a short extension with a swivel on the impact. I really was surprised it worked to be honest. Everything I looked at said you had to cut the pipe or remove the exhaust. I guess I got lucky.
Did you get that bolt out. I am having the same problem
You should look at CORE 4x4 control arms they are awesome! That what i used I bent my control arms hitting the median hi-way strip. And had to cut the bolts out and they are damn exspensive.
would be a great video if the wind was tolerable and could here you over it. Should change your name to - WindyAFDiesel
LMAO...I hear ya. We need a microphone.
Everybody knows those stickers are only worth 10hp ea now cmon
What is e coating?
Great video. Did the arms make a difference? I have a 3rd gen and trying to figure out what is causing steering wonder. Steering linkage seems tight. I might have to look at the ball joints too.
I did the arms at the same time I did the springs and shocks so I can't say for sure. One of my arms was bent pretty good and all of the bushings were shot. The truck did not drive too poorly before but it is definitely improved now. The DT Profab track bar and 99HD steering made the biggest difference.
@@dustydiesel564 thanks Dusty. Looking at track bar and steering box too.
2nd Gen 2500 owner here and I can’t recommend the EMF BJ’s enough but a lot of guys change BJ’S when they aren’t actually the problem.

👀😂🤣👌
I ain’t tellin nobody else
Right, Love that guy's videos but I don't want my truck in them!
What’s the torque spec?
130/135 ft lbs I believe
Shouldn't be wearing gloves when using the bench grinder, great way to get a pinched finger.
dang .$800.00
