I saw this live in Cleveland in 1994. My wife was 8 months pregnant with our youngest son. He claims that because of that, he's not into hip hop or rap he's a rocker all the way like his dad. And a very good guitar player! Thanks for sharing this with you kids!
Back in 1966 one of Floyd's first gigs was in a school in Notting Hill, London. The kids were so stunned they were in a trance. So, when the music stopped there was complete silence. I couldn't help but notice a similar effect on your delightful daughters. This is one of those rare songs that take the listener to another realm. Taking the audience to other realms is a Pink Floyd specialty.
Great reaction. It’s wonderful to see that your daughters are experiencing the high quality music that Pink Floyd creates and plays themselves. They are true professionals. So called “bands” today can’t touch PF. PF is in another league. No one makes a guitar express emotions like Gilmour , he’s an expert.
I saw them in concert for this tour in May 1994 at the old Foxboro Stadium. I can honestly say it was the BEST concert I ever went to. It truly was an amazing experience. Every time I see clips of this concert, it brings me back to that breezy, May night in Foxboro. I think it's great your daughters are experiencing Pink Floyd. They are legends!
A monstrous amount of musical layers and sounds, all done live. Nobody like them, nobody. Incredible beauty. Ciao from Italy. P.S. Small and beautiful. You have a father who loves rock music, you are lucky, take advantage of this, it will remain a beautiful legacy and memory. Ciao from Italy. the most beautiful country in the world that maybe you will visit in the future.
Pink Floyd - Pulse 1994 live, simply imposing, majestic, mystical, I never tire of seeing and listening to it, I have it on cassette, CD, VHS and DVD 👌👌👌👏👏👏
I bought my first PF album at 16, I did odd jobs to earn enough money. I bought the album "Wish you where here", which I still have after 45 years, but I didn't have how to listen to it. I found a friend who had an uncle who played and made us use his plate. An unforgettable experience.
The person seen from behind at the beginning, in the video on the circular screen, looks a lot like the legendary Syd, the hair is identical. Syd is mentioned in the song. We will never forget it. A genius who shone bright and fast. Ciao from Italy
I have PULSE on DVD, but the older version with different angles, but let me say, the moment Nick Mason hits that gong, the song just goes up another level.
This is good parenting :) I think it's both good and important to show the younger generation what real music is. And as a music nerd myself, I feel that this kind of music do something on the inside of your body and mind. Something that modern music can't do
I was at Earl's Court on the night before this performance, the entire concert was almost 3 hours long, in the 1st half they played the entire 'Division Bell ' album with some classics and in the 2nd half they played the entire 'Dark Side of the Moon ' album with some more classics and when they returned for the encore they played 'Wish You Were Here ' ,' Comfortably Numb ' and then they closed with 'Run Like Hell ' ,I hope that helps your daughter with her question.
This is one example that an excellent text can be written by someone other than Roger Waters. And Abum Division Bell is an example that Pink Floyd was viable even without Roger Waters...
More Pink Floyd! Your concept of listening with your daughters is a great idea, keep going! Play them "Dogs"! Maybe a big long song with some crazy middle section but I think they will love it. Cheers!
The porch concert lasted about three hours and felt like one hour. The arena was absolutely enormous there were cranes in the background holding up the lights his wife palsy wrote a lot of the lyrics from this era. Not only is David a great guitarist but just And a decent human being. Do you never ever hear anything negative about him you need to watch video He sings sonnet 18 on his flow team recording studio on the river Thisbe It’s really beautiful also he does a cover by Elvis Presley called don’t it’s a beautiful song as well
Terrific review by a terrific team. I am looking forward to the day when they hear a great version of Time. Looking forward to your dad explaining the meaning of that song to you, girls.
Gilmour is awesome. You're right, the Nightwish version is more of a tribute than a cover. And that there is no comparison, just enjoy them both for what they are, both awesome! 🤘🤘
It would be wonderful if you reacted to the David Gilmour concert "Live in Gdansk" where he plays "High Hopes" with a different ending, which, in my opinion, completes the song. By far the best version of this song! Yes I was at the Pulse concerts in '94 at the old Pontiac Silverdome in Michigan. FYI, total run time for the concert was over 4 hours because they also played DSOTM in its entirety. This was the best concert I ever attended. Great reaction. Thank you.
Great tune! Very good reaction, from you and the girls. They definitely pay attention and have very good insight for the songs. It will be interesting to hear what they have to say about the Nightwish version. They play a little bit harder version, but stay true to the original.
So awesome your girls love Floyd. My daughter does too. I forgot David Gilmour plays lapsteel! This was almost hard to listen to for me. Stirs up a lot of emotion from a very memorable time in my life. Brings me back every time I hear it. Lovely reaction guys. I give it a 5 too. High Hopes *English accent * 🤘❤️
Will always be grateful for the High Hopes Pink Floyd song. But the Nightwish tribute is so emotional.. A great song, at the end.. I love both version 🤟
Metal Dad, before I start watching you and your daughters conception of the music and video, I commend you on introducing your children to many genre's of music. It transcends language as it speaks to the human condition. Kudos to you! No, really. Kids/children, some adults would benefit from a world class music listening experience. One genre only listening will pigeon hole anybody! I commend you!
@@metaldaddaughters as I watch you explaining the music to your children for the third time! It's refreshing to see, I'm assuming your parents or relatives did the same for you or if they didn't, you realised how important it is to have an adult explain abstract concepts to us as children. I grew up playing and listening to classical music but my first CD was michael jackson's off the wall. it's a 5! lol
@@metaldaddaughters Recommendations for your daughters, same P.U.L.S.E live videos: Keep Talking and Sorrow. I think they'll get a kick out of "Keep Talking", and Sorrow is just fantastic! I'm sure they will NOT be disappointed!
Saludos!!!. ✌✌
The Division Bell Concert was about 3 or 3 1/2 hours long (there was a break after they played the "Dark Side of the Moon" album in it's entirety). Still have my ticket stub...
PF performed this concert that included the entire DSotM LP. I witnessed this show at Foxboro stadium. It was the first night of 2 scheduled events. As good fortune would have it, PF stayed for a 3rd sold-out concert. I believe the show lasted 3+ hours. Nobody wanted to go home, of course.
HI guys, great reactions. We are a kids family band from NZ and we wanted to get in touch but couldn't see an email so thought we would message you here. We've just done a cover of Comfortably Numb and put it on our channel along with heaps of other songs and hoped you might like to see it. Please delete this message if you don't like it. Thanks very much :)
Great reaction and all that. But within seconds, this song makes me unmeasurably sad. Is that really what you want to be showing to your beautiful daughters? I litterally had to stop the video and find somewhere else to go and cry. And Pink Floyd are probably my favourite band of all time. You'll probably do "Comfortably numb" next. Sheesh.
thank you for the kind words! I chose this song to show my girls the emotion that floyd brings. I wanted them to hear the song with me first and experience the amazing playing of Gilmour and company. Comfortbly Numb we did already and had the same feeling!🤟😃

"SORROW" by Pink Floyd from the same concert !!! PULSE!!! YAY!

One of the greatest album of the year by 94 and underrated ever in music history.
