I'm not a complete youngster, since I'm now in my 30s, but I've learned a lot about being a proud Brit since the day I discovered who Starkey was. (The day that he tore a strip off Laurie Penny in epic fashion)
David Starkey is a joy to listen to as he is so lively and positive. Neil Oliver depresses me on GB News but I use to love to watch him on Coast

He did not make a crass mistake. He merely invoked a form of emphasis commonly used in spoken English - he intended no denigration of black people. The people who attacked him are woke dolts too ignorant to understand their own language. In my opinion he should not have apologised - in the event it made no difference anyway. They were determined to have his head and they did - apology or no.

I believe that the biggest issue here is not the really obvious craziness, but the willingness by a lot of us, even those standing up to "woke-ness" as a full time job, to give an inch here and an inch there - I don't believe his words should have been made anything of at all, at most just a clarification that he didn't mean it 'that' way if anyone who didn't understand the use of English happened to ask. No apology was necessary, Nigal Farage needn't be commenting on it as 'crass' a year later, every interviewer needn't feel it necessary to bring it up at the start of every interview to virtue signal that they noticed that he did this awful thing.... It is complete craziness.
