    The timing on the Demaryius Thomas play and Julius Thomas play with Welker is incredible. The safety or nickel corner man covering Welker is having to keep an eye on Manning as part of his coverage. As soon as Welker sticks his route and comes out of his break, Thomas (either one depending on the play) are just a second or to from their respective break and heading downfield. Whether Manning threw that ball to Welker or Thomas, the ball would be released at the exact same moment. That is how you beat man coverage. He was the best ever at it.

      @@steviesevieria1868 it wasn't too early per se. I'm glad for Peyton's sake that we let him go, because we wouldn't have been able to give him the support to be as successful as he was in Denver. Irsay made the right call to take Luck and start over. It was a W for everyone imo

    As a life long Colts fan I'm just going to say this, Peyton's best years were in Denver. I feel like the man had waaaaay less pressure there.... And had a beast in Demaryius Thomas

    • @johead8516
      @johead8516 3 роки тому +2

      Agreed 100% and also diehard Colts fan... yes even though he was a better player with the Colts and with the Colts his life was on the line every single night.... he had so much pressure on him no matter what stage the game is in.... and if special teams fumble then it’s on Peyton, if the kicker missed a field goal it all comes back on Peyton... In Denver he had so much more team support and it took that load off of him.... I like Peyton because I love the cerebral aspect of his game and the Ex’s and O’s...... his single season 55 TD’s record may not ever get broken... Do you know how smart you have to be in order to throw 55 TDS..... you have to know Defenses, schemes, defensive coordinators tendencies, offensive concepts, game time situations, calling plays, calling protections, audibles, player personnel, route concepts, dummie plays the list goes on

    Two things here I have questions about. Is that concept on the TD what has morphed into the RPO in the 2022 NFL? Like "why not give the RB the exploit if the safety doesn't bite the PA"? And also you mentioned Manning always lined up his throws from behind the center. Is that concidental to the pass pro? Is the pass pro purposely designed to align to his drift? Does he choose his drift in relation to the slide? Does ANYONE else do or even teach that?

    On the last play, the fake outside zone, how does Peyton know not to give the ball to the RB and throw it to his WR ? Is that the play call from the get go ? Or does he have to read the 4th defender ? Cuz it sure looks like Peyton didn't even look at that 4th defender !
    Keep up the great work JT !!

    I was going to ask if it was poor form to ask you to review one of your contemporaries but seeing as you did Peyton, I was wondering if you could do Chad Pennington - I find him super interesting as he was a starter for many years not pro bowl level or anything like that but a solid long term starter despite having middling athleticism, and a really "weak" arm. I'm intersted how he overcame the physical limitations and how coaches and scheme helped compensate for lack of arm strength

      I’m a huge Peyton Manning fan and obviously not a fan of Brady... Peyton is guy all day long... HOWEVER game on the line playoffs or super bowl, 4th qtr down by 4 with 2 mins left and needing 87 yards with a TD.. “ remember your down 4 so a field goal won’t work “ is this critical game situation for all the marbles then it has to be Brady... Brady is a better player in those playoffs gms or Super Bowl situations

    • @johead8516
      @johead8516 3 роки тому

      Peyton is my favorite player but there’s a big downfall in his game.... Peyton Manning is a perfectionist and everything is precise and orderly and in those playoffs and super bowl moments there comes a point when the game gets screwed up... wether it’s a interception or fumble like in the SB against Seattle when the ball got snapped over his head.... because Peyton is a perfectionist he needs things to go according to plan and once things start to alter his plan then he’s not the same player.. I think sometimes he relies too much on studying and reading the book instead of just going out there and going to the playground and saying ok can you stop me ok stop this... in this situation he relies to much on the books instead of going out there with will and determination and saying ok heres what Im going to do so can you stop it

    • @johead8516
      @johead8516 3 роки тому

      There comes a point when things aren’t gonna go according to plan and you have to embrace it and overcome it... overall Peyton Manning is Peyton Manning and he usually wins but those tight playoff and super bowl moments you can definitely rattle him a bit and Tom Brady in those moments you can’t rattle him

    • @johead8516
      @johead8516 3 роки тому

      Instincts over paranoia.. Peyton is paranoid when this are screwed up rather than going with instincts... most of the time Peyton is Peyton but it’s those post season moments he struggles with
