    Viewers- If you know this trail, please keep coordinates and trail names out of the comments section. Thank you .
    Note: I can't believe its been over a year since the last time I rode this!! Super stoked I got to see it again before winter.

      Out of curiosity, what is the logic behind keeping the trail a secret if it's not public land? Or is it not public land?

    • @madjack_757
      @madjack_757  Місяць тому +1

      @Whitaker69696969 part of the reason these places are incredible is that they take work to find them. If I published something and suddenly 100,000 people know the area and everyone shows up, then we risk having trails covered in litter, traffic, heck they may even shut down a trail like this if too many people get hurt on it. I leave it for the adventurers out there to get a glimpse and be inspired to pick up a map and plan a trek of their own!

    My MAN!! We are the property owner at the end of this trail that met and talked to you a few weeks ago. Thank you so much for posting this video! You did an excellent job explaining the multi-use issues that we have with motorcycles and livestock. I appreciate you explaining all of that and thank you for being respectful and going slow when you saw sign of stock on the trail. You will do so much good in making this trail safer for all of us. Definitely the very best video I've ever seen posted on this trail.

    • @madjack_757
      @madjack_757  26 днів тому

      Thanks so much for the kind words! I really wanted to spread the word about those issues so I was glad to help. As I said last time, if there is anything else I can do, don't hesitate to reach out.
      On another note, during the filming process of this ride I did encounter a group of pack horses and I listened to your advice. I saw them well in advance, pulled my bike to the side, took my helmet off, and waited for them to come to me. The animals had no issues with me, but the person leading the group was pretty aggressive and told me I didn't belong there. He even threatened to beat me up with the help of his other group members. He looked like he was leading a hunting party. You might know who this guy is and I'd appreciate if you told him that not all bikers are bad lol! That said, I don't hold a grudge. You guys have undoubtably dealt with some disrespectful visitors before so I understand.

    I have commented on your videos before. I owned a TW200. I found a quad trail with my Polaris quad a few months ago, and it was easy. I very nice trail. I said to myself that I needed to take my 200 on this trail. I found the time, and went up this trail on my TW. Now, remember, I said that the trail was easy. Well, I was scared to death all of the way to the top. Going back down was a little bit better, but still not good. I am 77 years old, and have been riding dirt bikes since 1966. I finely just admitted to myself that due to poor balance and sorry reactions, I needed to sell my TW. I sold it a couple of months ago. Part of me was sad, but part of me was relieved.
    In my younger days, I question if I was ever good enough to ride on a trail like this. You do such a good job of both riding and narrating your videos. I have said it before, I do not want to even walk on a trail like that. The fact that you did this trail on a 501 is also amazing to me. I had an XT600 for years, and those big bore bikes have a fairly high first gear. They also have good low end torque, BUT, they are still high geared. At least when compared to my TW.
    I really do enjoy watching your videos. I still have my quad, and I ride it all of the time, and the best part, it does not tip over. LOL Well, a quad CAN tip over, but I really work at keeping the rubber side down. I am glad to see that you so-called wimp out at times. That is good. That means that the little voice in the back of your head is paying attention and trying to get you home in one piece to make another video that I can watch. Like I said, good job on the video and with the riding.

    • @madjack_757
      @madjack_757  Місяць тому

      A healthy respect for the dangers of this sport are wise! I'm happy that you still have that quad to go explore the mountains!
      Thanks so much for all the support! I love producing these videos and hearing these kinds of comments makes me really happy. Honestly, this trail is easier than you'd think. There just isn't any room for error. The 501 also sits super tall and has a touchy throttle, so those are the things I usually have to be the most careful on. I think its one of those trails where you just ought to know your bike well if you want to ride it. I've seen a couple of those XT600s before and they're super cool bikes! Kind of like the TW, they are purpose built machines.
      I'll make a deal with you- I will do my best to keep the 501 rubber side down and you do the same on your quad 🤟🏼🤟🏼

    • @BuilderofRat
      @BuilderofRat Місяць тому

      @@madjack_757 Yes, the rubber side definitely needs to be down. You have a deal! LOL My 1986 XT600 was a dirt bike that you could take on the road. I sold it years ago, so 3 years ago I started looking for another XT600. I found a 1994 XT600 down in Cali, so I did a road trip and bought it. I gave it a top end overhaul because it was a little tired. When I started riding it, it was very apparent that the 1994 XT600 was a road bike that you can take to the dirt. There IS a difference! was riding a 2 track with it, alone of course, and as I was going around a tree that was across the road, the bike tipped over. It took me 25 minutes to figure out a way to lift up that top-heavy high-geared beast. I loaded it up after riding it 30 miles back to the truck, then I took it out to my favorite Motorcycle shop and had him sell it. That was when I bought the 2022 TW200. At least I could pick it up if it tipped over.
      That trail might not have been too challenging, but I have a thing about cliffs, and I would have been soooooo nervous about making a simple mistake, that I am sure that I would have made a mistake.
      I could probably walk that trail if I had my walking stick, but my body would stop working after a mile or two. LOL
      I will make another deal with you, you keep making your videos, and I will keep watching them. Thanks so much for the reply.

    It’s funny you talking about the fear of smacking your bars on the rock face and going over. The turn at 9 minutes, I did exactly that and ALMOST went over on my first time on that trail. I dug my right foot into the edge of that turn and just kept pushing against my bike until I finally regained my balance. Scariest moment of my life. 😂

    One of the trails my son and I ride is a multi use trail system. Rule is if you come upon a horse you pull over, turn your bike off, remove your helmet and wait for instruction from the person on the horse. PS - that is one sketchy looking trail. Awesome views though!!

    • @MakeCriminalsIllegalAgain
      @MakeCriminalsIllegalAgain Місяць тому

      I used to do this for every horse, still will if it's a very narrow trail. But I have been told by every horse rider that I removed my helmet for that I shouldn't have to do that. They say if the horse is that spooked, it's irresponsible to take them out on a public trail. Makes sense.

    FYI, no one who knows that trail will call any type of riding you do pansy riding there- that's shits legit.
    Here's a way to think about duck walking (or any safety decisions on) your bike (what I say) - "I do whatever it takes to make sure me and my bike are able to ride again tomorrow". A hoaky way to look at it is, "there's lots of bold riders and lots of old riders, but there aint no old bold riders"
