  • Riding over a hour to the trails to see how the bike did on and off-road. Bike did great until I got a flat front and was stranded. Of course it was the last lap too.

    The XR650L is greater than the sum of its numbers somehow. Years of riding has brought me back to the big XR, and nothing brings a smile to my face quite like it. I feel like I’ve returned back home riding the XRL.

      Despite its weight and height for smaller people like myself. It is still very easy to ride and it does everything well.

      @@braapfactory9942 That’s good, because a lot of people get intimidated by it’s size. I guess you have to ride one to know what they’re really about. 👍🏻

    The whole XR line is maybe the most practical line of bikes on the planet. Gotta love ‘em. Call them a pig, yet everyone wants one after watching them in action. My favorite one was an 83 XR600L. That thing was modded into the best running dirt bike I’ve had, and great for the road too. It spent lots of nights racing Friday night mx at Ascot park, cruised the beach, handled the trails through Big Bear with comfort, finished Barstow to Vegas respectfully, blasted through the Riverside Raceway’s Viewfinder’s GP’s straight through with no pit stops or issues, and rode it back home 60 miles down the freeway with ease. Someone scored on that bike.. I bow to your fine XR650L..

      They are all phenomenal bikes. The ease of maintenance and ride ability sold me on this bike. I do plan to drop some weight and do a few things that will tailor it towards what I need, but out of the box it is great.

      I will have to get more XR content then. There is a little riding from the Colorado videos I've posted recently.

      If you're local maybe we can ride one day. Since the flat, I installed rim locks and haven't had an issue. I didn't think about these not coming with it and the tube ripped at the valve stem probably from braking.

    Nice! I have an 03 cr250 2 stroke and am gonna be selling it for one of these. I ride mostly stuff like this in Northern California mountains. The 250 is to wild and always gets me in trouble 😂 I just wanna brap some mountains

    Does the bike feel fast? And what bike would you recommend out of a crf300l, drz400, dr650, or xr650l. I am doing mainly road but need the bike offroad capable. Not just gravel, a little more than that like jumps and rougher terrain.

    • @braapfactory9942
      @braapfactory9942  Рік тому

      I have not had a chance to ride any that you listed besides my XR. Bigger displacement bikes will do better on the highway but I think the CRF would be the best out of the bunch for off road riding. It’s probably the lightest too.

    • @JeremyDovin
      @JeremyDovin Рік тому +1

      The xr is only ~40lbs heavier than the crf and has 350cc extra displacement. It seems just as offroad capable as the 300l is. It seems a bit tall but ok. Does it feel fast and did you have any issues with it the time you had it?

    • @braapfactory9942
      @braapfactory9942  Рік тому +2

      @@JeremyDovin the XR is pretty tall and I am on the shorter side but I can make it work. There are companies that make lowering links for the rear suspension and the front you can adjust it in the triple clamps. The bike is deceiving because it makes tractor like torque and will pull you through just fine. However, it doesn’t make a lot up top so you shift early and use the torque to pull you.

    • @braapfactory9942
      @braapfactory9942  Рік тому

      For some reason they do not come with a rim lock. I believe I messed it up when braking due to the tube ripped at the stem.
