Every once in a while, a song pops in head from the past while asleep, then when I get up I try to find it before I forget again. I clearly remember this song from the 70s but forgot who sang it, it all comes back to me now..... This video isn't from the 70s probably from 10-20 years ago but still sounds like the original, thanks for posting........
Thank you for your post! This video was recorded at Church Street Station in Orlando, Fl in 1988. I am a former professional deejay. I retired after 32 years in 2020 when the COVID epidemic hit. I started The Ranch channel on UA-cam as a fan hobby. Music videos became a mainstay in the music industry in the 80's. Prior to that, the live performances of bands were generally the only source of music videos there were. Since the 80's, television formats and quality have changed dramatically. Prior to 2010ish, most videos were done in the old box tv format of 4:3. Today it is 16:9. With all of the changes, music videos suffered the most. Many done prior to 2010 lack the quality of today's videos. Many have also been lost in time. What I do on The Ranch is take live performances and sync them to their studio version of the song. Kind of a milli vanilli approach but not all that different than performance videos. I call the technique "hillbilly vanilli". The only big difference is that I admit it from the get go. I'm not trying to hide it or con anyone. I do this for a few good reasons. One, it allows me to make quality music videos of older material from times when the video quality wasn't as good or their just wasn't music videos in that era. The idea is to preserve the music and turn other generations on to country music and its history. Two, many nightclubs and venues don't like deejays to use live performances. The crowd noise and special effects can interfere with the ambiance of the club crowds. Or so I've been told numerous times. With what I do, the better quality videos I produce can be viewed and played in clubs because it avoids those little hiccups. It's a live performance but studio music. Three, it advances what disc jockeys can do in their presentation. Video and audio is always better than just audio. It's the evolution of the business like 8 tracks to cassettes to cds to mp3's. And the final reason is just because I'm a fan of the music myself. I am a country boy by birth and raising. Country music is my life put to music. It's who I am. It's how I feel about things. And most of all, it is a reminder that there are others out there who wrote the song, performed the song, etc. who at one time or the other felt exactly as I do. Knowing that somehow makes this world not seem as lonely as it often can. Regardless, it's a fun hobby and your post here is exactly why I do it. It took you back to a moment and a memory you'd forgotten. In essence, the music lives on. Please subscribe to my channel for more content. Thank you for watching!
Yes, this video is from the 70s when, it was originally sang and, the person otherwise would’ve never been able to post it, UA-cam has certain rules, regulations and, rights people must follow! I don’t know why you seem to assume that, but, the person that post it was apparently at one of their shows because, it does take you to a site and even under more it will lead you to a site where it will tell you all the information on that video! They don’t have sound and look a like bands that much in the 70s like they do nowadays. This is the original because, I was a kid who grew up in the 70s and, my parents were into country music and The Queen of the Silver Dollar was one of my favorites while my dad liked The Door is Always Open, the original group that is them and, that is why it sounds like them! Gee, you people that make a comments like this seem to act like you think you know something the rest of us apparently don’t, you seem to come up with some off the odd ball comments! So, they aren’t the original band and, this isn’t the original song, yeah keep telling yourself that!
@@sonyafox3271 Song was was written by Shel Silverstein and was first recording by Doyle Holly (December 6, 1972).
