Saved the best (IMHO) for last .. 😉 That last concert video clearly shows that there were changes in the lineup of "Sugar" during the history of the band. The very petite blonde singer was not with the group earlier on in their history ..
@@randykidon1172 What? Dave passed away also? (Edit) Yep, he did. tasteofcountry.com/dave-and-sugar-singer-dave-rowland-dead-stroke/ As for Jackie, I know nothing about her post-D&S either, not even her married name. But I do know that the surviving Sugars (from the studio years 1975-81) are Jackie, Sue Powell Scott, Melissa Dean (known today as Etta Britt) & Jamie Kaye.
one of my favorites that wasn't a smash hit was "Baby take your coat off" - but I heard a version live that was much better (and longer) than the version that they recorded at a concert around 1980 or 1981. If they had recorded that version maybe it would have been a bigger hit! Anyway, I love the song either way...and really enjoy the the whole catalog. One thing that will always stick with me is the tremendous character of Dave - exemplified by the performance he gave in that concert I mentioned - only a very small turnout was on hand for the concert for some reason - and he mentioned to us not to worry about the people who were not there - that he would give us their best performance "ever" - and they proceeded to sing their hearts out just like it was a sell out crowd. It was a benefit to boot - so they were not being paid.
I can't find anywhere to download this music. My mom and dad always listened to this. It would be great to find it. Wow what a great blast frm the past. Any ideas on where to find?
They sure don't make music like this anymore, I miss it!! Love Dave & Sugar. RIP Dave and Vicki, now sing for the Angels.
Loved Dave and Sugar
Some of the best harmonies ever recorded. RIP Dave and Vicky
They're dead??? They did an inteview of Dave just three years ago and he appeared to be in good health .. ?
Perfect harmony just beautiful.
From Charley Pride's backup singers to their own stardom.

First concert I ever went too.. 1981 or 82 in Tupelo, MS I think..
it's too bad he couldn't keep these two ladies-- they both can actually sing, unlike replacements.
I don't know....
that brunette they had later on was pretty awesome ! 🎶
@@nickroberts6984 The brunette was an original....Jackie Frantz

there is a great anthology now on sale on eBay
Who is the singer on the left?
5:43 You forgot the L in "Silver." But good songs, all of 'em!
The female members of Sugar were always the same. However the role of "Dave" was filled by several different singers.
No true😡
@@glennaprimm8258 The group firmed in 1971. The singers were always the sane, but the band changed members frequently. They quit performing in 1988.
No desire to be confrontational but Dave Rowland was always there. The women changed over the years.
