We spent 20 years living in Hillsboro and absolutely love the Gorge, so many cool hikes out there, my husband tried windsurfing etc. We moved East into the Santiam Canyon a few years ago but still visit Hood River. 💕

I lived in Troutdale in the 60's when my folks bought 8 acres on Cherry Park Road. I didn't see or hear much about the wind blowing down the gorge.

I lived on the Columbia River for a couple of years when I was younger as my father took a job in the Tri-Cities in Washington. Very familiar with all the little towns from Portland to Walla Walla. We would make the trip two or three times a year and always stop in The Dalles which I thought was so beautiful. Thanks for all the videos, as I enjoy hearing wonderful things about Oregon.

The Dalles is Beautiful? Seems like a big ass drug den in the desert😂 Sorry dont mean to hate, I just can't stand it there, especially with all the smog from the Google plant🙄

@Andrew this was back in the mid 70s, lol. I'm in Southern Oregon now. I haven't been through the Dalles since 85. Had no idea the Google plant was there, interesting!

@@OregonLivingwithJessyRose Yes indeed. My wife wants to move to Oregon one day this would be the spot I’d move to with Klamath Falls a close second. I’m a truck driver over the road, and I shared this video with my wife. I run from ST Louis to Portland, Hermiston, and Washington.

@@Leonmiller407 I’ve spent some time in St. Louis, I went to Murray State University in Kentucky. I’m grateful to the truck drivers who spend time away from their families to bring us the things that we need! And that sounds like an amazing route along 84, unless there’s a foot of snow (I’ll never do that again)!

I spent time in Hood River back in the 1970s. Although I am partial to the Eastern US, I would have to say that Hood River must be one of the most beautiful places in the world.

It’s also one of the most expensive.

It sounds wonderful except for snow. I like just a little snow. Not too much.

I agree! I'm no geologist, but the rock formations around here are part of the reason I fell in love with the Gorge!

What kind of house could I get for $250,000. Cash. No mortgage. Prefer one level. No lot rent. Along the I- 5 corridor.

It just needs paint and a repaired deck, I would say you could offer $240 and that leaves some money for needed repairs. It's not a 3/2 though. Give me a call or email and we can do a more comprehensive search. RealtorJessyRose@gmail.com.@@999montanaguy
