HOOD RIVER, OREGON! Fruit Loop Trail, Breweries, Pizza & Historic Hotel in the Columbia River Gorge

- We are in Hood River, Oregon for the night. We check into the Historic Hood River Hotel in downtown Hood River and hit the ground running. We walk over to the waterfront along the Columbia River to have dinner and a few beers at the local breweries.
Along the waterfront are breweries, restaurants, coffee shops and businesses soon to be opening. It's great place to hang out during the summer months to watch the wind surfers and kite boarders and the rest of the year as Hood River host many events.
We have a pizza and a few beers at the Solstice Pizzaria. Even though we aren't vegan, we still enjoy many of the vegan options on the menu, and we ordered the vegan pesto pizza, which was awesome.
While we waited for a table at Solstace, we walked 5 minutes down the waterfront to Pfriem Family Brewers and enjoyed their beers and sat upstairs overlooking the waterfront park.
After the Pizza we visited the Ferment Brewing Company. We have always enjoyed their selection of beers since they have opened, and they NEVER disappoint. Unique varieties of beer alone traditional Northwest favorites we satisfy everyone in the party.
Heading back to the Historic Hood River Hotel we use our coupons for a free cocktail at Whiskey Tango and meet some friends. We have a few more and move on to have a few more. A great night and so close to the hotel, just a short 5 minute walk away.
In the Morning we have breakfast at Broder Ost. This Nordic restaurant serves traditional meals such as Danish Pancakes for breakfast and Swedish Meatballs for Dinner. We will now come here to eat each time we visit Hood River.
After checking out of the Historic Hood River Hotel, we start the Mt. Hood Fruit Loop Trail. Along the way we stop at cideries, bakeries and country stores. We will come back to do the trail in the summer when all the businesses are opened for the season.
The Mt. Hood Fruit Loop is a scenic driving route located near Hood River, Oregon. It is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike, especially during the fruit harvest season. Here's some information about the Mt. Hood Fruit Loop trail:
Location: The Mt. Hood Fruit Loop is a 35-mile loop that winds through the Hood River Valley, located at the foothills of Mt. Hood in northern Oregon. The loop is easily accessible from the town of Hood River, which is approximately 60 miles east of Portland.
Scenic Route: The Mt. Hood Fruit Loop offers stunning views of orchards, vineyards, forests, and mountains. The route takes you through picturesque landscapes, with plenty of opportunities for photo stops and scenic overlooks. You can expect to see a variety of fruit trees such as cherry, apple, pear, and peach orchards, as well as vineyards producing award-winning wines.
The Mt. Hood Fruit Loop is not just about fruit and farms, but also offers opportunities for outdoor recreation. You can go hiking, biking, or horseback riding on the many trails and roads in the area, or take a scenic drive to enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding landscape.

Not every video will be an award winner but all we need is someone to laugh and enjoy the ride along the way.
Hood River is like the coolest town and greatest town! The people are very, very friendly, cool and caring they'll help you with anything and let you do anything. It's very rich the schools are perfect. You can drink beer and alcohol anywhere in the town it's the only town in the state where you can. It doesn't get too hot in the summer and doesn't get too cold in the winter. The cost of living is not overly priced. The views are very beautiful and stunning. The people are seriously the most coolest, sweetest and helping people they're help you with anything. It's seriously the perfect town!

Great video! I remember traveling up to Hood River way back in the 70s with my family. I loved it then and have always wanted to go back - now we have a bunch of great places to check out thanks to you guys (gonna have to try a Danish Mary)! Great job on the video and editing - I love how much fun you guys have on your trips !
Yes we will stay in touch and keep watching your travels cause you are covering areas we have never been. Just make sure when you start making plans to head this way keep us posted it would be cool to do a meet up. The farthest we are going this year is California, Nevada and of course Oregon, Washington and Alaska !

We visited oregon about 6-7 years ago and took a day trip to hood river and absolutely loved it. We cant wait to go back and visit more breweries- we loved Thunder Island brewing right along the river. We loved that you use untapped, we use it all the time! we'll make sure to take a trip along the fruit loop
Thunder Island was one of our favorites we would even drive across the bridge from Stevenson just top hang. Good and bad they are still around but they moved we loved that spot by the water on a picnic table on a nice day we love finding small breweries and great views. They are now up the hill and they are very big they have several stories and a couple outside decks. They are big now but still have good beers. Well let's stay in touch maybe let us know ahead of time when you are coming out and we will do a You tube meet up. We have several videos of other towns that are just 10 to 60 minutes from this one that you may also love. Funny that we live so close to Hood River and have never really explored it. What little we have done has been when we camp over at MaryHill State Park. But then we hit the winery up there. Love the classic Rainer T shirt! Great Video
Thanks I gave that shirt to Ron last June for his birthday after hiking when we went to Crooked River Ranch and Smith Rock. We love Maryhill we stayed at Peach Beach and Ran around in a video as well. Every time we come back from Hawaii or a big trip we alwasy say we have many hikes and places around us we still need to explore!
As long as it is clean, thats the most important thing. Regular rooms are great, especially if you are not planning to spend much time in your room. I do love good craft beers. Peter likes a good Guiness or Stout. I am more of an Amber Ale or a Pale Ale. Pizzas are great. Nice cocktails. The Danish Pancakes looked delicious. Love the George White House. Hmmmm Cherry Cider! I do like a cider, but not sweet! That bakery looked delicious. I used to watch "Little House On The Prairie" too! 🤣Bag a Muffin, awesome store. Loved the adventure, thank you for taking us along. 👍🏼🙏🏼❤

Nice. I spent a summer w the USFS as a wilderness ranger in the Mt Jeff wilderness in the late 90s!

Well unfortunately we have seen that with many towns and cities over the years unfortunately things are always changing and not always for the better. We do enjoy Hood River quite a bit we have been visiting it on a regular basis for the last 20 years and ut is honestly better then many other areas but we do understand what you are saying. Hi my friends, it's always 5:00 - brewery time. I like the pictures they have up in the room. pFriem - how do you pronounce that? freem? Oh wow that smores dessert looks so good. Oh ok "Ferment" lol. too bad you can't send me a sample of the strawberry ferment you are talking about. Oh boy you don't want to leave on probation. oh wow a birthday drink - that is neat. Goodness you guys are really making us second guess stalling our next trip out west. I can't wait to hit some good Breweries out there. Do you have a Top Breweries per State list? Or since that is probably tough, Top Breweries per region? Great video, we always enjoy watching you guys. Keep up the good work and the Alcohol content! (Pun intended!)
Excellent Pun!! We do have several breweries from most states. Do you have the App Untapped if not you should check it out then we can message you how to find us on it. Basically it is for beer lovers and its fun you earn stamps for different reasons. Mainly it is fun cause you can keep track of what you like and get info where it is made. We like it cause we can look to see if we had something before and if we liked it. Also you can see what your friends tried and thought. I found a beer that was made in Oklahoma and fell in love with it and Ron thought it would be fun to take me on an anniversary to that brewery anyway the plane tickets were crazy ridiculous for some reason and it was cheaper to fly to Maui. Yes you are correct it is so difficult but the sacrifice we are willing to make. What you don't see is we started fasting and working out more. During the 2 to 4 weeks in between filming we have been working hard but we are scared because we are having longer trips this summer we are just going to have to hike more, bike more and learn self control!
