The trick with using a magazine for protection is good! I'll definetly use that for repotting cacti from now on

I have seen a “fence” of San Pedro a few times now. Each time I am more impressed at the speed, abundance and size they can grow. Thank you for sharing, the cactus thank you too!

Unfortunate about the buying experience, hopefully the cuttings will flower again sooner than later.
I really enjoy watching all your videos, thanks for the great content and happy growing!

This clone reminds me a lot of the clone known as Big Bertha, it's somewhat rare but Misplant has made some amazing crosses with it. At any rate, it too is a fat bridgesioid with some insane looking spines just like this Tiburon clone, I do wonder if it's same plant but different name.

I have some very long spined San Pedros. I always bought them as Pachanoi but I got some Peruvians and Bolivians with them too which is ok. Most of my Pedro's are from seeds with a few from cuttings and some very small rooted ones which are now growing really big. I plant in the ground and leave them growing like wild plants most of the time. Occasionally I water them in summer and look out for pests but they seem to be able to survive our very hot dry summer really well and even in full sun

You must have a nice collection! I'm quite envious that you can plant them in the ground. I have the right climate for that here, but unfortunately I can only use pots (I live in an apartment with terraces).

@@sanpedromastery6262 yes I started about three years ago. I have about 150 of them probably more as I haven't got to counting them yet. I have the perfect sub tropical semi desert climate in Malta. They do great together with my agave, yucca, prickly pear and other opuntia plants. My field and back yard is like my little Sonora/Andean desert heaven retreat

Cool. I bought a couple cactus from a neighbor, hes good and I just saw what all the mother plants going on was about. In Thailand Orchads use some trees as mums. My San Pedro cutting is now 2 months old and getting very fat. I used household cinnamon after the cut, and I was told to triangulate, somewhat vertically the cut on the mother for drainage. Im looking forward to doing the cutting on the bridgesi tiburon, each of the mums had 4 base pups, and I top cut the san pedro and it has a pup up top. There is blackness on the top of the pedro mum plant, I just washed the knife in hot soapy water couldnt find isopropynol, but it seems to be mending, maybe the cinnamon helped. I would like to see flowers, and maybe harvest seeds.

Thanks for the comment! Good to hear that soapy water was good enough for the graft, at least that one time. :)

I'd be mad as hell if I didn't get the size I had paid for.

Can you warn who the seller was?

Sorry I prefer not to say, but it's not a Trichocereus specialist, more of a general cactus seller from Spain. I don't quite understand why people would do that to be honest, as otherwise I would have been a returning customer, since he also has another couple plants that would have interested me. Oh well.

@@sanpedromastery6262 Next time you go to purchase something like this. It's best to put in writing the size of each cutting. Such as 1 meter 1.5 meter etc. Unless you did that and still got shorted.
