It's a bit more talked about in the book but Dumbledore's theory about what happened in the graveyard was that because Harry and Voldemort's wands had the same core (a phenix feather from the same bird) they where "reluctant" to harm each other, so the magic casted at each other kind of went haywire, hence the weird cage that appeared and Voldemort's "search history" appearing; the _priori incantatem_ spell is used to visualize the last magic casted by a wand, and the last magic Voldemort did was to murder those four people: Cedric DIggory, the old caretaker of Riddle Manor and, 13 years ago, Harry's Parents
the bit of magic you seen with voldemort and harry is called priori incantatam it happens when two wands that share the same core ((the phoenix tail feather that came from fawks dumbledores phoenix)) fight with each other they start to spit up spells in backwards Cedric Digory frank bryce ((the old man)) Lilly Potter James Potter
I always thought that was a mistake, James showing up before Lily, because Voldemort killed James first and then Lily, so they should reappear in reverse order - first Lily, THEN James... 🤔 And in the books there were also the silvery hand and Bertha Jorkins
The edit with the dancing cat really had me laughing for way too long. I knew you'd like this movie best out of the bunch because now it's a bit more mature and taking things more seriously compared to the rest. Can't wait for the next reaction especially when it comes to the next Dark Arts teacher.

As explained by Dumbledore at the end of The Goblet of Fire. Because Harry and Voldemort’s wands share the same core material. A feather from the tail of the same Phoenix. When the two wand’s owners force them to do battle against each other, something called Priori Incantatem occurs, the reverse spell effect. This means that, during the connection, like what happened between Harry and Voldemort in the graveyard, one wand can force its brother to regurgitate what Dumbledore described as a “reverse echo” of the previous spells that the wand had cast. So, the echo of Cedric Diggory, Bertha Jawkins, the elderly muggle man who’s name I believe was Frank Bryce, and finally James and Lily Potter. As also explained by Dumbledore, these were not the actual ghosts of Voldemort’s victims. They were just reflections of them. I believe, at least James and Lily Potter chose to “go on”. So, no, it wasn’t actually Harry’s parents.
I will explain a few things that were not and will not be addressed in the movies: • The Death Eaters' Dark Mark is non-removable. Everyone who was marked will forever have it. Karkaroff was only showing Severus that the mark is appearing "full" again, and they can feel its presence (until it's not activated/called, the mark is just like any tattoo). That was taken as a signal that Voldemort could be alive/returning as he would usually call upon his "loyal" supporters using the mark. Also, and that's kinda important, not every Death Eater has a Dark Mark. While many can be Death Eaters, only chosen ones (very few of the most loyal circle) could be marked by Voldemort. All the Death Eaters that were called by the Dark Mark to the cemetery and didn't come (excluding those who were in the Azkaban) will be hunted and killed by Voldemort. It's a suicide to NOT appear when Voldemort calls. BTW, everyone knew Lucius is a Death Eater, but he was "pardoned" by the Ministry of Magic. • I don't know if that was clear in the movie (probably not) but unforgivable curses aren't only outlawed, but they're also very difficult to perform. Even during that first class, Moody told them if all of the students in class put their wands together and shout in unison "Avada Kedavra" at him, nothing would happen. Harry was great at doing Imperius curse later on (and resisting it - the only curse out of three you can learn to resist). That one is also the easiest one. Cruciatus and Avada are two very difficult ones, especially Avada - the death curse. Cruciatus, performed on someone long enough and/or by a powerful person, can drive mad or even kill someone from the pain. Avada, besides being pretty much an unstoppable curse (no shield or spell can protect from it, only a sacrificial act, like what Harry's mother did, *could* potentially save you), is also damaging to the one who casts that curse. You can also only perform it if you truly wish in your heart for someone to die (that is besides being also a powerful wizard). There should be a very clear and strong *intent* to kill. In general, there are many curses that require stronger magic and lots of practice. Not every curse can be performed just because you have a wand. P.S.: And the "teen romance" is just as valid as any "adult romance" 🙄 If Harry wouldn't have been such a gentleman, Cedric would still be alive 🙃
I was probably about thirteen when I started reading the Potter books. And the movies started coming out a year or two later. Prisoner of Azkaban was my favourite read, but when I read Goblet of fire I just couldn't get past the craziness of having a whole school year overtaken by some crazy magical death competition. Plus the moodiness of the kids and relationship stuff was awkward to read. But the movies in many ways fall a little short (I think felt most let down by PoA because I had high expectations) . I remember being so excited for the first movie, but when I saw the Lord of the rings films I just fell in love with those so much more. Anyways it's been fun watching your reactions. Looking forward to the next one!
👍 Exactly what i thought you would say.. As a reader of the books i must tell you it's always starting with Harry in his aunt house but this book was much bigger than the previous, that's why they needed to cut their scenes out. The other thing is in Dumbledore's memory you can understand that Nevels parents are tortured till madness that's why he was so upset in class
There is so much subtle awesome. Like fakeMoody (Crouch jr.) turned Malfoy into a ferret bc he was mad at Malfoy's father for denouncing the death eaters when Voldemort died. He hated any deatheaters that didn't end up in Azkaban
I just realized, after so many years, i FINALLY just noticed something. When Voldemort is ripping off their masks, two of the names he said sounded very familiar. He called one guy Crabb, and another Goyle. Draco Malfoy's two lackeys are also called Crabb and Goyle. Those must've been their fathers.
As a book fan, I have to agree the story is best so far (My own favorite is Half Blood Prince)... but again, as a book fan, knowing how much they hacked off the story to fit it in one movie... I cannot in good conscience call it a good adaptation! Thanks for the vidoes... Love the reactions. P.S. the cannon thing IS funny every single time LOL
Also to add, in the books there are other echoes of people murdered by his wand & they circle the dome speaking words of encouragement to Harry & also speaking condemnations to Voldemort (telling him he will never win etc), which I always found quite interesting as it displayed intelligence beyond what one would really consider mere echoes.
I'm glad you really liked this movie, its definitely one of the best HP movies. I remember the first time I seen it in theatre years ago and I was blown away by it. Can't wait for your next reaction!
I love the fact that you are the first person to actually react to Filch's cannon-fire every time..It's hilarious! But no other reaction seems to focus on that point
So glad you’re starting to see the magic! As always, I’ll say the movies are decent but I highly recommend the books because the movies can’t hold a candle to them. Something great that they leave out of the movies is Harry’s snarky/sarcastic comments. Our boy is the King of Sass 😂 Here’s my fave from GoF when Ron interrupts Harry talking to Sirius: Harry seized one of the POTTER REALLY STINKS badges off the table and chucked it, as hard as he could, across the room. It hit Ron on the forehead and bounced off. “There you go,” Harry said. “Something for you to wear on Tuesday. You might even have a scar now, if you’re lucky…. That’s what you want, isn’t it?” @Hello, Newman
Your edits and commentary are so funny 😂 the cat dancing was so unexpected and I burst out laughing. I'm excited/patiently waiting for you to get to the 6th movie (my personal favorite).

Okay, so for the next part, Order of pheonix it is important to know that barty crouch jr. did not go to azkaban, he never told what did he do, and that he helped voldemort because minister for magic let dementors in school and they killed crouch jr. Remember that
Hi, Mr. Newman, another delight as usual. If your teaching style is anything like your reactions, I envy your students. I hope you can release both parts of the next chapter simultaneously. I love to savor them as a whole. In keen anticipation, I await...
Loved these videos! I’m so glad you enjoyed this movie so much comparatively to the others, it’s my personal favorite. I’m not sure if you caught this but didn’t include it after editing but the reason Neville was so uncomfortable with the spider being crucioed (tortured) is because his parents were crucioed to the point of going crazy and have been in the hospital since he was a baby, they were discussing it in the court room memory scene. Cant wait for your next reaction and I hope you enjoy the movie for Order of the Phoenix more than I did! (It’s my favorite book at least 🥴)
Like your humor, as a teacher I probably would have hated you tho 😂. Well lucky for you I'm out of school😉 Subscribed, really cool stuff you have on your Chanel
When i was younger, this was my second favorite movie! Prisoner of Azkaban had this really teen angsty feeling of loneliness, and Goblet of Fire had a teen romance problems and hormones revolution vibe and OMG, IT'S SO FUNNY!! And it's my mum's favorite, so i love to share quality moments together with Goblet of Fire (-:
I don’t know if you noticed but in the court scene when they charge Barty Crouch Jr. they talked about how he used an illegal curse on Neville‘s parents, that’s why he was so affected by it in the classroom. They talk more about it in the next movie so I won’t say anymore. But they definitely do not tell the whole story that the book does about his parents, it’s much more tragic. Also this book is a lot darker then what they show in the movie. But they focused a lot on relationships I think to break up the darkness and have it be more gradual coming in from the last three movies.
and now you know why neville has such a visceral reaction to the spider being relentlessly tortured by the cruciatus curse. he was picturing his parents
The Goblet of Fire wasn't my favorite movie, except for the graveyard scene which just gives me chills every time due to the acting talents of one Ralph Fiennes. I just never could get into the whole romance subplot- or at least how it was handled in the film. I'm really enjoying your reactions to these movies. Can't wait to see what you think of The Order of the Pheonix, since it's my personal favorite.
@@TDG_98 It definitely is. Both have a lot of mistakes, but the ones in the HBP are so much more noticable and much worse. In the GoF there are a lot of mistakes, but they are smaller and less noticable, while in the HBP we barely touch on the main things in the book, and just get loads of terribly done drama
It’s really funny because I feel like people who read the books kinda dislike the Goblet of Fire movie, and people who only watched the movies love it. I like it, I just wish other parts of the book could’ve been included. I understand why they couldn’t include those parts though.
This is the best movie in the series (and an even better book) by a huuuuuge margin. The books are all great, and the movies are all at least good, but this is the Empire Strike Back "apotheosis of the setting" chapter of the series, where everything EVERYTHING is in full swing. It's still a full-blown "normal" year of school at Hogwarts, we see the most of the culture of the wizarding world and get the warmth and whimsical magic of the first 2 movies, but it's also deadly and dangerous and genuinely dark at the same time. On the spectrum of everything, it's the most representative of the full scope of the Harry Potter series. It's not concerned with setting up the world anymore, and it's not yet concerned with wrapping up the story. It's the only entry where the story really just gets to....BE. Which I feel is also why The Empire Strike Back is the best.
After in depth thinking about your reactions and the tention aspects you seem to enjoy, I can really say Order of the Phoenix is going to be one of your top favs if not THE top fave.
Now I am even more curious about your opinion of the next movie(which is one of my favorites). I think you should like it even more. But I also thought you would like Azkaban more. Really looking forward to these reaction I like your style and the humor^^ I would love to hear more after the reaction tbh but I enjoyed this as well (:
Dumbledore is most powerful wizard. But he became very kind after some past experience. So he didn't hurt or kill anyone. Voldemort fear only Dumbledore. So Dumbledore freely taking Voldemort name everytime .
Great video(s) Mike! I'm enjoying watching your reactions so much! This film is a lot of fun. But it bothered me that they never explain why Voldemort's and Harry's wand connected. In the book it's explained that both of them have wands made with a feather from the same phoenix, making their wands twins in a way. Later Dumbledore tells Harry that when twin wands are forced to duel, they act weirdly and which ever wins forces the wand to regurgitate ghosts of its previous spells. Since the last spells Voldemort made was "Avada Kedavra", his wand started regurgitating the "ghosts" of the people he had most recently killed, including Harry's parents. This cements the strange connection Harry and Voldemort have, and becomes crucial to understand the plot in "Deathly Hallows". In this film, however, they omitted all this explanation, probably because they thought it would be boring. But I think it robs complexity to the story, and it makes it look as if Harry beat Voldemort in the duel just because he's the hero, which I couldn't really buy.
Can you imagine professor Snape teaching his kids to dance, seeing as he's head of Slytherin? "Put your hands on my waist" lol

The book blows the movie out of the water!! So many fun mysteries, characters, and plots left out
It's a bit more talked about in the book but Dumbledore's theory about what happened in the graveyard was that because Harry and Voldemort's wands had the same core (a phenix feather from the same bird) they where "reluctant" to harm each other, so the magic casted at each other kind of went haywire, hence the weird cage that appeared and Voldemort's "search history" appearing; the _priori incantatem_ spell is used to visualize the last magic casted by a wand, and the last magic Voldemort did was to murder those four people: Cedric DIggory, the old caretaker of Riddle Manor and, 13 years ago, Harry's Parents
He said ‘Avada Kedavra’ which are the words for the killing curse. Mad Eye Moody covers it when torturing the bug.
the bit of magic you seen with voldemort and harry is called priori incantatam it happens when two wands that share the same core ((the phoenix tail feather that came from fawks dumbledores phoenix)) fight with each other they start to spit up spells in backwards
Cedric Digory
frank bryce ((the old man))
Lilly Potter
James Potter
I always thought that was a mistake, James showing up before Lily, because Voldemort killed James first and then Lily, so they should reappear in reverse order - first Lily, THEN James... 🤔 And in the books there were also the silvery hand and Bertha Jorkins
The edit with the dancing cat really had me laughing for way too long. I knew you'd like this movie best out of the bunch because now it's a bit more mature and taking things more seriously compared to the rest. Can't wait for the next reaction especially when it comes to the next Dark Arts teacher.
13:07 definitely going to be my favorite meme. It works with any songs
That shit cracked me up.
Spoiler Alert [no, really; it's small but it's comin]
My HP people........ He thinks Myrtle is bad. He's about to start movie five
Do we think he'll still think Myrtle is the most annoying after [her]......?
Place your bets, folks XD
Here I go falling into another conniption 'cuz I can still see the words "Hem-hem!" in my mind as clearly as the blood I now see in my eyes having thought about [her]
She never even does it in the movies, but I can see the words on the page like I'm reading them now
'CUZ SHE DID IT EVERY FIVE FRIGGIN PAG- ........................
...I think I'm better now
I can't wait to see how he reacts to that one character in the next movie that everyone hates.
Spoil more.
I will explain a few things that were not and will not be addressed in the movies:
• The Death Eaters' Dark Mark is non-removable.
Don't worry. Reparo spells will fix the dragon damage to the school....lol.
About the teen angst.......
@@toodlescae Uh oh...
🤣😂🤣😂
So excited to watch :D I love your commentaries!
Thanks! Glad you like them!
I also absolutely lost it when you put the catJAM emote GIF during the Third Task's music ahaha
The dancing cat. *chef's kiss*
Those must've been their fathers.
all of them are familiar, we even saw mcnair in the movie beforel, he is the executioner for Buckbeak
Your facial expressions alone is what i love about these reactions 😂👌🏽
I knew u would love this one .... most ppl who don’t like the last movie loves this one , it’s either this movie or the other
That Cat Scared the Life out of Me! Jeeezz...
LOL
Actually it WAS the first movie he started a love triangle in! Twilight was the second 😂😂
Your channel is flying i just searched up harry potter yesterday and you came up
That's awesome. I don't make universal law, I just live by it!
Loved your reaction!! Your face at VoldyBaby and reborn AlienVoldy!! Just great!
I just discoverd your channel today and was sad that there are no videos left to watch :D
Same!!
Subscribed for the dancing cat! Seriously though I love your commentary and insights, keep it up!
Thanks a ton!
Our boy is the King of Sass 😂 Here’s my fave from GoF when Ron interrupts Harry talking to Sirius:
Harry seized one of the POTTER REALLY STINKS badges off the table and chucked it, as hard as he could, across the room. It hit Ron on the forehead and bounced off.
“There you go,” Harry said. “Something for you to wear on Tuesday. You might even have a scar now, if you’re lucky…. That’s what you want, isn’t it?”
@Hello, Newman
thats my favorite book and harry Potter movie .
by all accounts this is my favorite book and movie of the series
Wow! Fave book AND movie. Most people have said it is really either/or for most people.
@@HelloNewman well when you're done with the movies you should try out the books :D
Your edits and commentary are so funny 😂 the cat dancing was so unexpected and I burst out laughing. I'm excited/patiently waiting for you to get to the 6th movie (my personal favorite).
That's great! Hopefully you weren't drinking anything at the time.
As soon as I played it, I realised I'll have to watch the first one again to get into this in continuity 😄
(Already liked this one though) 😜
This is the way.
it's very cool to see a person who reacting to harry potter and dare say the things he doesn't like, it is uncommon on youtube, but it's great too to see you began to like the saga with this movie. can't wait to see the next parts :)
(absolutely sorry about my english, i'm french and not so strong at learning other languages... ^^')
Anyways, thank you to share that experience with us.
Love the editing on this! Can’t wait to see what are your thoughts for the next one.
Fun Fact: The rock band at the Yule Ball is called The Weird Sisters, and they’re quite popular in the wizarding world. 🎸
I love that you laughed for 5 minutes at filch pulling the trigger early on the canon lol he’s a mess and his moments always make me laugh
just binged all HP reactions really made my day thanx - instant sub!
Okay, so for the next part, Order of pheonix it is important to know that barty crouch jr. did not go to azkaban, he never told what did he do, and that he helped voldemort because minister for magic let dementors in school and they killed crouch jr.
Remember that
15:58 dude you are a teacher? We learned about this spell and the 3 unforgivable curses in the DATDA lesson. Pay attention 😅
I'm so excited to see your reaction. I can't wait for next part.
Can’t wait for the rest of the series reactions.
Like your humor, as a teacher I probably would have hated you tho 😂.
Well lucky for you I'm out of school😉
Subscribed, really cool stuff you have on your Chanel
You would have loved me as a teacher. I would have demanded it!!!
Dance Sequence: "Starts"
Everyone: *Skip 362846239184 seconds*
When i was younger, this was my second favorite movie! Prisoner of Azkaban had this really teen angsty feeling of loneliness, and Goblet of Fire had a teen romance problems and hormones revolution vibe and OMG, IT'S SO FUNNY!! And it's my mum's favorite, so i love to share quality moments together with Goblet of Fire (-:
Loved the reaction, I'm waiting for the next one. 😀
okay i don’t ever comment on videos but i’m loving yours!!!! super excited to see the rest!
I'm super glad you like them!
Favorite book and movie, so happy you've enjoyed it!
This seems rare. Most people have said they like one or the other, but not both. Thanks for watching!
Glad to see you liked this one, hopefully you like the next one, personally the next is my favourite and I can't wait to see your thoughts on it
I'm with you! To me, this is not only much better than PoA, but one of my favorite out of all HP-movies!
Yesss! I'm so looking forward to your reaction to the Order of The Phoenix, one of my favourites.
So am I!
@@HelloNewman Nice :)
The cat meme fkn got me so good! And you’re right, it’s is the best one ... so far! Looking forward to The Order of the Phoenix!
I love Goblet of Fire but compared to the book it's the worst unfortunately. But I do love it when I don't compare it to the book.
Honestly I think HBP is the worst compared to the book but I don't want to spoil anything
I love the books, but I'm subscribing because you sang "Soul Glo" at the beginning of your reaction. Made my day! 🤣😂
Thanks so much! I adore that movie.
Now I'm excited!
Ahahaha that cat vibing won my heart!
Now I am even more curious about your opinion of the next movie(which is one of my favorites). I think you should like it even more. But I also thought you would like Azkaban more. Really looking forward to these reaction I like your style and the humor^^
I would love to hear more after the reaction tbh but I enjoyed this as well (:
I'm a little unpredictable!
Love your reactions! Subbed and I'm excited to see more :D
Wow. Thanks a lot!
