The Padang is an open playing field located within the Downtown Core of the Central Area in Singapore. It includes the Padang Cricket Ground. The Padang is surrounded by several important landmarks, which include Saint Andrew's Cathedral, City Hall, the Old Supreme Court Building and the City Hall MRT station. Esplanade Park:- Built in 1943 when Singapore was ruled by Japan, the Esplanade Park is one of the oldest parks in Singapore. The park was redeveloped in 1991. Many historical landmarks are located at the Esplanade Park, including Queen Elizabeth Walk, the former Indian National Army Monument site, The Cenotaph (completed in 1922), Tan Kim Seng Fountain (moved here in 1925 from Fullerton Square), and the Lim Bo Seng Memorial (which was unveiled in 1954). The Esplanade Park is bounded by Connaught Drive, Stamford Road, Esplanade Drive and the mouth of the Singapore River. In popular culture:- The park is featured in HBO series Westworld, as part of the third season. Merlion Park:- Merlion Park (Malay: Taman Merlion, Chinese: 鱼尾狮公园, Tamil: மெர்லயன் பூங்கா) is a famous Singapore landmark and a major tourist attraction, located at One Fullerton, Singapore, near the Central Business District (CBD). The Merlion is a mythical creature with a lion's head and the body of a fish that is widely used as a mascot and national personification of Singapore. Two Merlion statues are located at the park. The original Merlion structure measures 8.6 meters tall and spouts water from its mouth. It has subsequently been joined by a Merlion cub, which is located near the original statue and measures just 2 meters tall. History:- Main article: Former Merlion Park The original Merlion Park was first designed by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) near the mouth of the Singapore River in 1964 as an emblem of Singapore. On 15 September 1972, the park was officially opened at an installation ceremony for the statue, officiated at by then Prime Minister of Singapore, Mr Lee Kuan Yew. The original statue of the Merlion used to stand at the mouth of the Singapore River. The building of the Merlion was started in November 1971 and was completed in August 1972. It was crafted by the late Singaporean sculptor, Mr Lim Nang Seng and his 8 children. The sculpture measures 8.6 meters high and weighs 70 tons. This massive statue with the spouting stream was constructed by Stanley Mok. Marina Bay Sands:- Marina Bay Sands is an integrated resort fronting Marina Bay in Singapore and a landmark of the city. At its opening in 2010, it was deemed the world's most expensive standalone casino property at S$8 billion (US$6.88 billion). The resort includes a 2,561-room hotel, a 120,000-square-metre (1,300,000 sq ft) convention-exhibition centre, the 74,000-square-metre (800,000 sq ft) The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands mall, a museum, a large theatre, "celebrity chef" restaurants, two floating crystal pavilions, art-science exhibits, and the world's largest atrium casino with 500 tables and 1,600 slot machines. The complex includes three towers topped by the Sands Skypark, a skyway connecting 340-metre-long (1,120 ft) with a capacity of 3,902 people and a 150 m (490 ft) infinity swimming pool, set on top of the world's largest public cantilevered platform, which overhangs the north tower by 66.5 m (218 ft). The 20-hectare resort was designed by Moshe Safdie architects. Gardens By The Bay:- The Gardens by the Bay is a nature park spanning 101 hectares (250 acres) in the Central Region of Singapore 🇸🇬, adjacent to the Marina Reservoir. The park consists of three waterfront gardens: Bay South Garden (in Marina South), Bay East Garden (in Marina East) and Bay Central Garden (in Downtown Core and Kallang). The largest of the gardens is the Bay South Garden at 54 hectares (130 acres) designed by Grant Associates. Its Flower Dome is the largest glass greenhouse in the world. Little India Singapore 🇸🇬:- Little India is truly one of Singapore's most colourful historical districts. Lime pits, brick kilns and a race track once dotted the neighbourhood, and its streets thronged with herdsmen, merchants and garland makers plying their trade. To this day, this enclave of Indian culture retains its unique heritage. •Why is it called Little India in Singapore? Its location along the Serangoon River originally made it attractive for raising cattle, and trade in livestock was once prominent in the area. Eventually, other economic activity developed, and by the turn of the 20th century, the area began to look like an ethnic Indian neighbourhood.
Hey gig hustle, I''m a Singaporean and i've enjoyed every delivery videos you've put out! To answer your question on National Day Parade, it is basically an annual parade held on 9 August to commemorate her independence. Have fun in Singapore and please visit hawker centres to try our local food. I will highly recommend trying chicken rice, duck rice, rojak, nasi lemak, roti prata, char kway teow and many more! You can visit old airport road food centre for some authentic local food!

Honestly i am a big fan of your channel! Thx for visiting my home country, Singapore and we Singaporeans hope to welcome you back here soon! Try visiting the west and north side of Singapore! It may not look like the beautiful south side of Singapore but it is still good to explore :) by the way, have fun in malaysia!
The "stadium" for the Padang is there because Singapore's National or Independence Day is coming, 9th August to be exact. They do full scale rehearsals starting from late June (on weekends) till the actual day. There's a military display, including an actual parade - sort of like Trooping the Colour in the UK, and alsp flypasts.
If you’re sticking around this Saturday, you’ll see aerial displays of military jets around 7pm and fireworks at Marina Bay between 8-8:15pm. They are all part of the rehearsal for NDP 2023. Enjoy Singapore!
At 10:50 TWG tea has the best boutique tea I have ever tasted ( even better than T2 tea) ! You have to try their Early Grey Fortune blend of tea, nothing compares to it. I feel like a kid in a lolly shop when I’m there 🍬 ....
Wow that shopping centre with the boats! Singapore looks very nice and the food at the restaurant looked very tasty and it's great that everyone is so nice, helpful and speaks English! Stay safe you two, see you in the next one.
I think if you were here in August, the padang ( field in malay language) were staged for our Independence day or in Late September, it would be tge F1 race. This area is a happening place n from May To September the rain yrees therw are gorgeous with white wild orchids n Tiger orchids blooming. Yes, the SG tourist pass is the smartest way to get around ( kind of like London’s Oyster card) , and you get the deposit back from the tourist card when you return it after it expires. Purchase it at the Changi airport station, or limited stations around the MRT network.
the Padang was used as the NDP (national day parade) Show this year on 7th august it is basically a day that commemorates the nations birthday or when singapore gained independence on 9 august 1965
Hi Jay, Watched a load of your food delivery videos last week. You come over great! Just joined your new channel. I was in Singapore in January and travelled through Malaysia and Thailand. I was in that same cafe having sweet toast and egg like you when I first arrived. It was delicious. Anyway keep up the good work. Martin

You guys are doing very well as UA-camrs. Looks very natural and spontaneous in front of the camera. By the way, just subscribed to your channel yesterday (17 July 2023) and is wondering what gear you are using to film. Enjoy your trips.
Thanks for subbing! We are using GoPro 11 and no external mic, just the inbuilt one. And the wind slayer when it's windy or when we're on moving transport 😉
haha if u had come few years back u probably find more people hanging around MBS trying to catch pokemon there. Lots of pple hanging around trying to spot dratini or lepras there.
I'm a Singaporean..word of advise if u intend to come back for another visit. We are not as safe as before. 10 yrs ago, yeah u can leave your bags on the chair etc, but crime exists. People hv lost their laptops, bags, when they left them on the table. We are not as clean as before. I grew up with a very clean state but now u can see people litter anywhere and they hardly get caught. Over populated is one of the reasons, we lacked manpower to keep an eye on crime or just cant keep up wth petty crimes. Its sad because we hv to live wth 6million people in a small country and pray hard the government is not going to target 10million in few years time.
My Wife is from Singapore(Tamil-Singaporean) & we visir Singapore every so often. It's such an amazing place. Food is one of the best in the world. Recently got back from Singapore & Thailand on Holiday 2 months ago. Singapore better for Food, but Thailand is better for history, - & ridiculously cheap for our British currency. When in these countries I bring a pack of tissues with me at all times 😂 Subscribed brother!
Hey Ciaran! Yes the food was amazing! It’s pretty expensive in Singapore but the food in hawker centres are pretty cheap compared to restaurants! Cheers bro 😎
Hi welcome to Singapore🌹There are upcoming events preparation in tat area. Singapore National Day parade at the Padang on 9th August so there will be several rehearsal over the next few weekends. Following up in Sept there's the annual F1 nightrace happening. Hope you will enjoy yrselves in Singapore💞
Great video. I've heard that the punishment for crimes and stealing in Singapore are very extreme so it is very safe like you said. Wish they would implement the punishments here in the United States as crime in the big cities is out of control.
Stone Island is a street brand but these days, best not to wear as you will be snitched when in the UK. Likewise for Canada Goose. Avoid at all costs hehe

Omg, thank you so much! We really want to go back as soon as possible because there's so much more to see, explore and try! Will definitely try out your recommendation next time 🤩
You guys are doing very well as UA-camrs.
@@JayandKarolinaThanks for the reply. Love your clips. 😊
haha if u had come few years back u probably find more people hanging around MBS trying to catch pokemon there. Lots of pple hanging around trying to spot dratini or lepras there.
Hahahaha that would be awesome!
Oh, wow! We haven’t heard that the situation got worse 😢 Hopefully it won’t change in the years’ time at least…
In Singapore you can go to visit the Uss.
USS: Universal Studio Singapore.
The boats in the mall is such a cool idea lol
Is that you Manny? The boats were definitely cool and unexpected haha
@@JayandKarolina Yes it is! Yeah it was really cool
That's for our National Day event.. Usually is a plain green field.. When you said it's for sports, it cracks me.. Hahahahahahaha! But WELCOME TO SG!
Exactly! Thanks!
national day parade is held at padang this year thats why its blocked up
My Wife is from Singapore(Tamil-Singaporean) & we visir Singapore every so often. It's such an amazing place. Food is one of the best in the world.
Recently got back from Singapore & Thailand on Holiday 2 months ago. Singapore better for Food, but Thailand is better for history, - & ridiculously cheap for our British currency.
When in these countries I bring a pack of tissues with me at all times 😂
Subscribed brother!
Hey Ciaran! Yes the food was amazing!
It’s pretty expensive in Singapore but the food in hawker centres are pretty cheap compared to restaurants!
Cheers bro 😎
@@JayandKarolina Ah yeah. Hawker centres is were it's at. £2.50 for some really good tasting chicken, rice, & sauce did me a treat haha.

Beautiful jay
Jay! Next time you're here...visit gardens by the bay at night! Our night life is stunning too hehe
We’ve been on the evening show too 😍 But the lighting is not great for vlogging so we enjoyed it off the camera instead!
Welcome to Singapore 👋👋
Need to mix the sides properly with rice.. would recommend to see some videos.. you might have missed out on the flavours
👍👍👍
Great video. I've heard that the punishment for crimes and stealing in Singapore are very extreme so it is very safe like you said. Wish they would implement the punishments here in the United States as crime in the big cities is out of control.
Go garden by the bay at night/Marina Bay for light show also u guys didn’t went jewel
We've been there and done that! Could totally recommend! ✨💯
100plus best drink to hydrate after a workout

Mer-Lion is hybrid mythical animal of Mermaid 🧜♀️ and Lion 🦁
Stone Island is a street brand but these days, best not to wear as you will be snitched when in the UK. Likewise for Canada Goose. Avoid at all costs hehe
