You guys are amazing, first time in Singapore, already know dip the yummy crispy kaya toast with the eggs. It could be better if you add a little soya sauce and white pepper. I'm Singaporean, always happy to see UA-cam influencers explore Singapore. And yes, if taking public transportation (MRT /Bus)it good to have a EZlink card. Can get it top up at any MRT stations and bus interchange.Dont forget to try another local foodies too. Hope you guys have a great time in Singapore!

Hi just saw your video. I am surprised no one stopped you from filming the immigration area. It is prohibited under the Infrastructure Protection Act 2017, Changi Airport and Seletar Airport are infrastructures protected under the Act. I wouldn't film any airport immigration area - it is considered protected area. That aside, your video is good. Tx for coming to Singapore. For the kaya, it is made with coconut milk and sugar and the green color came from pandan leaves. It is very tedious to make kaya as it can take hours to reduce to that texture. For the soft-boiled eggs, add soya sauce (half a teaspoon will do) and add pepper - and mix it all up. Dip your toast in there and it will bring it to another level.
Singapore's Coffee (Kopi) Lingo can be tricky to catch for new tourists. Hope this list is helpful to you. Kopi/Teh - Black Coffee/Tea with Condensed Milk and hot dilution water Kopi O/Teh O - Black Coffee/Tea with Sugar and hot dilution water ('O' means black, no milk) Kopi C/Teh C - Black Coffee/Tea with Evaporated Milk, Sugar and hot dilution water ('C' was used to refer to Carnation Milk) Siew Dai (after saying Kopi, Kopi O, Kopi C) - Less sweet drink (less condensed milk/sugar) Gah Dai (after saying Kopi, Kopi O, Kopi C) - sweeter drink (more condensed milk/sugar) Kosong (after saying Kopi C or Kopi O) - no sugar added (kosong means empty in Malay) Poh (after saying Siew Dai, Gah Dai or Kosong) - more hot dilution water is added (thinner dilute drink) Gao (after saying Siew Dai, Gah Dai or Kosong) - less hot dilution water is added (thicker, concentrated drink) Ti Loh (after saying Siew Dai, Gah Dai or Kosong) - no hot dilution water is added (Kopi/Teh poured all the way from the coffeepot or teapot without additional diluting. Super concentrated full-on strength drink) Peng (after saying Poh, Gao or Ti Loh) - Drink is poured over ice cubes and served cold
After having first drinks we did our research too 😂 But in any form kopi/teh are super delicious for us being foreigners! Maybe a little bit too sweet with condensed milk haha
@@JayandKarolina> Kopi/Teh Siew Dai or Kopi/Teh C ~ that’s how I like my Kopi/Teh… But absolute fave is Teh Tarik from a Mamak shop coz the tea is different > they use tea dust (called teh sarbat) that very dark orangey in colour.

You missed out the soya sauce. Kaya + butter + egg + soya sauce + pepper = heavenly. Add soya sauce and pepper to eggs and mix. Dip kaya toast into mixture. That is how we eat.
normally, we(singaporeans) would put pepper and dark soya sauce(which can be seen both are available on ur table) onto the eggs to go with the toast or just plain bread. perhaps u can try that on ur next visit =)
For the drinks you can actually have any requests. like without sugar or less sugar. less milk or without any. they have condensed milk and sweetened too, which you were drinking. The kaya is a mixture of coconut, pandan and sugar and eggs. The dark sauce is sweet that goes with the poached eggs, mixed. Dont put too much of it. usually a teaspoon is good enough with the pepper for spice.
Soya sauce is put on the soft boiled egg together with white pepper. Tweak the amount according to ur taste likeness. Mix it up after adding and voila u have a slurpy egg mixture with savoury concoction of saltiness from soya sauce , pepperish from white pepper and last creamy from egg.
Hey man! I'm a 1st generation Singaporean and it's always great to see travellers' vlogs about SG. By now I believe you and Karolina would have left SG and I hope it was a wonderful trip for the both of you! I just discovered your channel a few days ago, and I have been watching LOADS of your videos. And now I checked your first ever video. I LOVE your channel, so nice, so much fun. It is also nice to see someone that is as OCD as I am with suitcases etc. ha ha . Thank you guys for starting this channel. Greetings from a Dutch guy living in Berlin
Very detailed well explained video. You definitely have done your research well about where to go and what to eat in Singapore! And your annunciation of the local terms are on point! Well done.
Just a quick tip, if you have GPay, Apple Pay or Samsung Pay with visa/master, you pretty much can tap and go on all public transports. It's possible to survive in Singapore without cash. (Only downside is not all stalls are contactless ready, but most are).
Thank you for the tip! We do have Starling cards (with great exchange rates) so them are always helpful when we need to make an international transaction 😬
I love watching travel vlogs like these. Makes me more appreciative of my country. We don't think much of kaya toasts or jewel airport bc it's a norm for us. But pple be travelling far to Singapore to experience it.
Loved your reaction to the kaya toast! Next time you visit Singapore and have the kaya toast you can pour some soy sauce and pepper, beat the eggs up and dip away! When you're done with the toast, just sip the remaining eggs to complete a hearty local breakfast :) Cheers!
Welcome to Singaore, although you guys should have returned home by now. I hope you guys it has been a wonderful trip for your guys and I look forward to more videos from you on your visit to Singapore. Oh, one thing about the egg, we call it ‘soft-boiled eggs’ here and it’s really up to the individuals how he wants to eat them. For me, I would add dark soya source and a bit of pepper, and next, I would normally scoop out the yoke. Your Tea-O means tea without milk, ‘O’ is Hokkien, a Chinese dialect, meaning ‘black’, like coffee black, Kopi-O. 😃
We have really enjoyed our time in Singapore but currently staying in Malaysia! However, we still go for our favourite Kaya Toast sets breakfast quit e a lot and eat it how it should be eaten - exactly the way you described 🤭 Thanks!
Awesome! Thank you! We really loved our 7+ months in SE Asia since it completely changed our lifestyles and perspectives! As you know, we've been already planning our second visit as of Sep'24!!! So hope you'll enjoy exploring new countries with us too 🥳
At 6am, you can actually get traditional kaya toast with soft boiled eggs at most coffee shops or hawkers center. just look for the stalls that sells drinks.
thats a common sg breakfast the eggs go great with the dark soya sauce with pepper, add a few drips of soya sauce and pepper to taste... mix it all up, dip and enjoy. Kaya is a coconut based jam its very popular in singapore and malaysia. Weclome to sg
You should add pepper and a few drops of dark soy sauce into the eggs and mix it up a bit. Then try it by dunking the Kaya Butter Toasts in the egg mix.
The soy sauce is for the eggs. There are 2 types - light and dark, the former being less viscous and more salty while the latter is sweeter. Add a few drops in with pepper. Gives the eggs additional umami compared to salt imo.
One of my colleagues from work is also to Singapore for the first time and she is excited to go, but only for 4 days. I have been there a lot while staying in Malaysia. Normally I go by coach from Melaka, Malaysia to Singapore with the family for one weekend. Singapore is one of my home countries, because of family and I enjoy watching vloggers like yourself visiting Singapore.
Jay, didn't realise you had this channel.. watched all of your gig hustle uploads and really enjoyed, so looking forward to catching up with this series... I've been to Philippines many times and have stopped over at Singapore before. Lovely place, exceptionally clean, and very friendly people (as with all of Asian people) Didn't get chance to do much as it was only an 18 hour stopover, but we had some lovely food whilst there.. Enjoy your new ventures around the world. By the way, your girlfriend seems very nice too, so a wonderful couple, made for one another!!
love the vid! just thought i'd give a helpful tip for ordering tea and coffee in local stores such as yakun, or coffeeshops in Singapore in general: kopi - coffee with condensed milk kopi c - coffee with evaporated milk and sugar kopi o - coffee with no milk, but with sugar kopi o kosong - black coffee with nothing (kopi, kopi c, kopi o) gah dai - more sugar (kopi, kopi c, kopi o) siew dai - less sugar if you want the coffee or tea to be thicker, you can add "gao" to your order (e.g. kopi o gao, thicker coffee with sugar and no milk) changing kopi to teh is just the tea version for everything above. and if you want the iced version, you can just tell them you want it cold, but if you wanna sound more local you can say "bing" which means ice in chinese
Pinnacle at Duxton is a PUBLIC Housing estate smacked in the heart of town. Having lived in Hove for a few years, I’m quite sure most British will find our public housing is so different from public housing in UK.
Thanks mate! I’m keeping Gig Hustle open so that I can make videos in the future on that channel but I just don’t know what’s going to happen but you never know!
Jayesh mate, I hope your UA-cam journey goes well. But a couple of tips: The on the ground realities of where you are secondary to UA-cam success. You are not tour guides. Be 'STARS'. The locations are just a backdrop to the story unfolding. Focus on Carolina. Smiling at you. Enjoying your profound wisdom, humour, insights, etc etc. Never show vision of her trailing behind you. It's not a good look unless it is to bring to light her trepidation in following you into a bold and exciting future. Carolina is not baggage! Highlight your careful and sensitive approach to her feelings and reactions. Shared discoveries are magic. You don't have to highlight your careful research and deep knowledge. Your discovery of new worlds is the magic. Oh, and Ya Kun Kaya Toast is sort of like the McDonalds of kaya toast. As an alternative, look down every little alleyway for undiscovered local gems. Finding such places, like Carolina's smile, lights up the UA-cam sky. M
Brilliant first video on the new channel man! I love how excited Karolina is. Reminds me so much of the first time I ever visited Asia. I was so excited by everything.
Welcome to Singapore! Try adding some soy sauce and pepper to the poached egg which we Singaporeans like to call either half boiled egg or soft boiled eggs and yes that dark coloured sauce is in fact soy sauce!
Hi, pro tip for using Singaporean trains. Just like London in Zones 1 - 4, you can use contactless for the MRT systems here. Save that card money for some nice Singaporean food :)
wow u have done alot of research on Singapore before u even came to Singapore im amazed that you know some of the places . hope you enjoyed my country!
Hope you both have a wonderful time travelling around Asia. Its so nice to meet you girlfriend. Really enjoyed this first video, its so good that people speak English isn't it!? Your arrival, after 12 hours, woo, was very good, the young lady in the booth was lovely and the people at the cafe too and you really enjoyed that food lol! Oh and it was great to see you making new friends on the plane, hello to George if he reads this! Take care you two and I'll see you in the next one.
That’s so nice of you too! We’re both super excited about the journey so hope you’ll enjoy following us! 😬 We went on a direct plane from Berlin to a Singapore and arrived straight for breakfast time to SG 🇸🇬 Kaya Toast was exactly what we needed and the service was more than kind 🙏 Like all Singaporeans we’ve come across tbh!
Hey Jay. Seen your vlog for the first time. Welcome to Singapore!! Hope you and your girlfriend enjoyed your stay and vacation here! Tay-OH! 😅 cute.. thanks for showcasing our little island!
Kaya make by pandan leave and a lots to of eggs and sugar put it in have to keep on stirring it until it melt down,There are also a kaya with brown color with brown sugar
Should put a little black sauce into the half boil eggs. Mix slightly and eat. Kaya is made from coconut cream, sugar & egg flavoured with pandan leaves.
As a Singaporean, im here to share some tips ;D : 1. If you wanna order soemthign from they menu like located at 18:10 and 18:32 , try to order like "can we have 2 Set A" as its denoted in the menu, it speeds up your order process 2. Pronounciation Time: Teh O = T-ayy Oh Kopi O = Koh-Pee Oh Kaya = Cah-Yah 3. Kopi = Coffee w Milk, Teh = Tea w milk, O = no milk, C = Evaporated Milk, Siew Dai = Less sugar, Gao = More Caffeine. So if you want a coffee no milk with less sugar and more caffeine, you'd say "Kopi O Gao Siew Dai" Hope this helps ;D
Hi welcome to Singapore and enjoy your holiday ❤ you will love Singapore coz we are full of nice places, so much good food and cheap too. Take more great pics while you are in Singapore and stay safe whenever you are 🥰
Excellent video Jayesh, well shot and very well presented. You should seriously look at doing this professionally on broadcast TV, so good luck with UA-cam. I've been to SIN a few times in the last year, arriving at T1 is not the best terminal at Changi but I see now that they have the immigration e-gates. That will help speed things along through that bottleneck. For travel in SIN I use the Tourist Pass (the red and white one), it lasts for up to 3 days unlimited travel and you can also top it up (only for a couple of days) after it expires, the cost of the card itself, and any remaining balance, can be refunded at Changi when you leave. What camera did you use for the video?
Singapore is fabulous first stop for this travelling adventure 😊 enjoy this new chapter🎉 and you started off bravely going on low budget economy for 12 hours!
19:00 for the uninitiated... teh - the standard tea with condensed milk at regular coffeeshops. (Some places like Yakun/toast box addition of evaporated milk is standard.) teh-C - tea with condensed milk and evaporated milk (some places omit the condensed milk and add sugar instead) teh-O - tea without any milk with sugar. teh siew dai - literally means "tea less sweet" No sugar just add kosong behind. teh-C kosong - is tea with just evaporated milk teh-O kosong - is just plain tea without milk and sugar. anything you want ice add "peng" behind. the above list. Kopi(coffee) would be similiar. however there's some special variations like Ti-Loh (which roughly means all the way) it's pure kopi no dilution thick AF. You have been warned.
On all of Singapore 🇸🇬 currency 💵, you will see the picture of Singapore 🇸🇬 first President Mr. Yusof Bin Ishak from 1965 to 1970. Deceased on 23rd November 1970. KAYA TOAST:- Kaya Toast is a classic Singaporean breakfast, especially when served alongside a cup of kopi and two soft-boiled eggs. An oldie but goldie. There is good reason for the sustained popularity of such a simple sandwich: the sweet, pandan flavours of kaya (coconut jam), salty pat of butter, and mouthfeel of white bread make quite an irresistible combination. Traditionally, kaya is served on thin, well-toasted slices of bread for a very crunchy, coffee dunk-able bite. However, there are many new renditions of Kaya Toast, usually swapping out the crispy toast for different breads: steamed, thick toast, french toast, crackers. You get the gist.
Not "all" Singapore currency, but "most". Don't forget the Bird Series, Orchid Series, and Ship Series that was circulated before Yusof bin Ishak and its portrait notes. All of them are still legal tender.
You have missed it.... the egg, best method is to put a few drop of dark soya sauce, usually i put just 2 to 3. And be generous with ur pepper ( i like pepper) gentle mix of the egg with the sauce, dont break the yolk. Gulp the whole thing down. It feels suuuuper awesome and good.
Thanks for your videos! But such a pity you did not explore the others parts of SG, there are very nice and budget food around and fun beautiful places to explore! 😢
When you return, perhaps do a shout out to those who are keen to meet up with u. We will all have different gems to share with u both to enrich your understanding and experience of Singapore. :)
@@JayandKarolina not sure abt ur side, but for sg side going budget to places, u need to add on for luggage and meals. Whereas, scoot biz have 30kg and meals included. On top seats are bigger and comes with individual charging point. At least this is what i exp pre covid when i travelled to twn. Definitely worth it in my perspective.
Hey.. Where have you guys been?? Haven't you guys read or heard anything on Singapore before the trip?? Singapore is developed first world one of expensive cities..
Noticed that you'd left your bags behind at the table in Yakun while you got your food. Nowehere else can you do that and not loose your possessions. Kaya is coconut jam . Glad you liked the local breakfast:)
hi bro all stations are Air con and all indoor places too ! in singapore. have a nice trip, Which airport did you fly in to singapore ,you did not mention , you keep your viewers wondering!
Add a few drops of soya sauce onto the egg and a dash of pepper. Mix the eggs thoroughly and dip. Sweet, creamy, and savoury. ❤. Kopi C kosong (without sugar) perfect combo.
The half boiled eggs we eat it w pepper and soy sauce. Sprinkle abit of pepper or ur preference. Then pour abit of the soy sauce. Stir it and it's yummy😋😋😅
Welcome to Singapore :) Should try putting the soya sauce and pepper into the egg and mix everything together, dip the toast in the next time you try, the combination will be delicious, try it! Hope you guys enjoy the kaya toast! Cheers!
Alas I should have watched your video earlier before you left Singapore. I would have urged to visit some hawker centres tourist wouldn’t have gone. They’re right in the heartland of locals. Pls visit us some day again.
We went to the old airport road hawker centre and filmed a video there! Is that not a touristy one? We will be coming back to Singapore for sure because we really like it there :)
Should have gotten the teh instead of teh-o. Teh would come with condensed milk. Personally lovveee their kopi-c though. In any case, ya kun was a perfect choice - my favourite traditional kaya toast chain in Singapore by a far margin!
Thank you for the comment! After spending couple of days in Singapore we could have finally ordered what we really wanted to 😂 So many choices... Kopi/Kopi-C/Kopi-O (and all that might have also been Kosong/with ice)! Kaya Toast was indeed our favourite breakfast in Singapore ❤️

Then try it by dunking the Kaya Butter Toasts in the egg mix.
We have actually done that after filming (only knew about this way because of watching what the locals do tbh hehe). Thanks, mate!
The soy sauce is for the eggs. There are 2 types - light and dark, the former being less viscous and more salty while the latter is sweeter. Add a few drops in with pepper. Gives the eggs additional umami compared to salt imo.
It tastes so good that way! We prefer the salty one though 😌
25:19 - thank you for giving them great compliments, especially early in the morning! I am sure they appreciated that a lot!
Hello from Singapore.
I’m sure they did 🥹
One of my colleagues from work is also to Singapore for the first time and she is excited to go, but only for 4 days.
Lovely place, exceptionally clean, and very friendly people (as with all of Asian people)
Didn't get chance to do much as it was only an 18 hour stopover, but we had some lovely food whilst there..
Enjoy your new ventures around the world. By the way, your girlfriend seems very nice too, so a wonderful couple, made for one another!!
Thank you mate! How did you find the new channel? Through Gig Hustle?
love the vid! just thought i'd give a helpful tip for ordering tea and coffee in local stores such as yakun, or coffeeshops in Singapore in general:
kopi - coffee with condensed milk
kopi c - coffee with evaporated milk and sugar
kopi o - coffee with no milk, but with sugar
kopi o kosong - black coffee with nothing
(kopi, kopi c, kopi o) gah dai - more sugar
(kopi, kopi c, kopi o) siew dai - less sugar
if you want the coffee or tea to be thicker, you can add "gao" to your order (e.g. kopi o gao, thicker coffee with sugar and no milk)
changing kopi to teh is just the tea version for everything above. and if you want the iced version, you can just tell them you want it cold, but if you wanna sound more local you can say "bing" which means ice in chinese
Pinnacle at Duxton is a PUBLIC Housing estate smacked in the heart of town. Having lived in Hove for a few years, I’m quite sure most British will find our public housing is so different from public housing in UK.
It is indeed!
Superb video I'm already hooked 👍 will still miss the other videos but here's to the next adventure on UA-cam.
Thanks mate! I’m keeping Gig Hustle open so that I can make videos in the future on that channel but I just don’t know what’s going to happen but you never know!
Jayesh mate,
I hope your UA-cam journey goes well. But a couple of tips:
The on the ground realities of where you are secondary to UA-cam success.
Thanks mate! This is a brilliant analysis of Karolina because it’s exactly that haha
❤🎉😂
Welcome to Singapore! Try adding some soy sauce and pepper to the poached egg which we Singaporeans like to call either half boiled egg or soft boiled eggs and yes that dark coloured sauce is in fact soy sauce!
Hi, pro tip for using Singaporean trains. Just like London in Zones 1 - 4, you can use contactless for the MRT systems here. Save that card money for some nice Singaporean food :)
Amazing! Thanks!
Really interesting to see a different side of you, love it!
Glad you enjoyed! More to come!
wow u have done alot of research on Singapore before u even came to Singapore im amazed that you know some of the places . hope you enjoyed my country!
We had done indeed! We loved our stay in SG so hopefully we will be back soon! 😍
Hi , for the poached eggs (aka half boiled eggs), we eat them direct with dash of pepper and dark soya sauce (the ones you collected from the counter)
We went on a direct plane from Berlin to a Singapore and arrived straight for breakfast time to SG 🇸🇬 Kaya Toast was exactly what we needed and the service was more than kind 🙏 Like all Singaporeans we’ve come across tbh!
This month is so hot n humid feels like 35c. Should visit during december-jan its around 24c
Indeed! It's not ideal but we have a lot of plans so it was hard to be in the calendar winter in each of the places 😂
Hey Jay. Seen your vlog for the first time. Welcome to Singapore!! Hope you and your girlfriend enjoyed your stay and vacation here! Tay-OH! 😅 cute.. thanks for showcasing our little island!
Thanks! We very much did! All pleasures ours 😌
I'm a Singaporean and I am proud of it
Kaya make by pandan leave and a lots to of eggs and sugar put it in have to keep on stirring it until it melt down,There are also a kaya with brown color with brown sugar
Omnomnomn... We had the brown version, right? And as far as we know, there's a green one as well? 🤭
Should put a little black sauce into the half boil eggs. Mix slightly and eat.
Kaya is made from coconut cream, sugar & egg flavoured with pandan leaves.
great content! good luck with your new channel!
Thank you so much!
Thanks! Much appreciated!
Now I see why this chap was always buggering off to Poland every few weeks. Well played, lad. Well played.
😂😂😂
Singapore is beautiful country 😍❤
Welcome to Singapore. Thank you for your sharing and contribution.
what i like about westerners is how they all seem to be comfortable with just engaging in conversations with each other randomly.
As a Singaporean, im here to share some tips ;D :
1. If you wanna order soemthign from they menu like located at 18:10 and 18:32 , try to order like "can we have 2 Set A" as its denoted in the menu, it speeds up your order process
2. Pronounciation Time: Teh O = T-ayy Oh
Kopi O = Koh-Pee Oh
Kaya = Cah-Yah
3. Kopi = Coffee w Milk, Teh = Tea w milk, O = no milk, C = Evaporated Milk, Siew Dai = Less sugar, Gao = More Caffeine. So if you want a coffee no milk with less sugar and more caffeine, you'd say "Kopi O Gao Siew Dai"
Hope this helps ;D
Hello Jay! Happy seeing you start this new adventure! Good luck to both of you. But i would miss your GigHustle videos 😊
Hey Mathan! Thank you so much bro! I’m keeping Gig Hustle open because I can always make videos when I’m in the UK and maybe some here in Asia 😎
@@JayandKarolina that would be awesome Jay. Have a safe and fun trip in Asia
Kaya is coconut jam.soft boiled eggs are to be eaten with a swirl of soya sauce plus pepper then dunk in bread to sop it all up yum
So good!
Love your curiosity and the way you enjoy the kaya toast. Welcome back soon
🙏🏽❤️
Pinnacle @ Duxton is a public housing (government built residential apartments). It is a public housing project.
Wow your pronunciations of all singapore road and places is on the spot! Hopefully you enjoyed here
Thanks! We really did!
Welcome to Singapore. Hope you had a great holiday here. ❤ thanks for the video
Singapore is fabulous first stop for this travelling adventure 😊 enjoy this new chapter🎉 and you started off bravely going on low budget economy for 12 hours!
Thank you very much! 🫰🏽
19:00 for the uninitiated...
teh - the standard tea with condensed milk at regular coffeeshops. (Some places like Yakun/toast box addition of evaporated milk is standard.)
teh-C - tea with condensed milk and evaporated milk (some places omit the condensed milk and add sugar instead)
teh-O - tea without any milk with sugar.
teh siew dai - literally means "tea less sweet"
No sugar just add kosong behind.
teh-C kosong - is tea with just evaporated milk
teh-O kosong - is just plain tea without milk and sugar.
anything you want ice add "peng" behind. the above list.
Kopi(coffee) would be similiar. however there's some special variations like Ti-Loh (which roughly means all the way) it's pure kopi no dilution thick AF. You have been warned.
Amazing! Thanks for sharing!!!
kaya is basically coconut 🥥 paste. oh ya , like the others had said , mix the eggs up.
Our fave ❤️
On all of Singapore 🇸🇬 currency 💵, you will see the picture of Singapore 🇸🇬 first President Mr. Yusof Bin Ishak from 1965 to 1970. Deceased on 23rd November 1970.
KAYA TOAST:-
Kaya Toast is a classic Singaporean breakfast, especially when served alongside a cup of kopi and two soft-boiled eggs.
Thanks for explaining the money aspect!
Oh, from the way you’ve just described the Kaya Toast it makes us missing it even more ❤️ So delicious!
Not "all" Singapore currency, but "most". Don't forget the Bird Series, Orchid Series, and Ship Series that was circulated before Yusof bin Ishak and its portrait notes. All of them are still legal tender.
The chap on the Singapore Dollar note is known as Yusof Ishak, the first President of Singapore ☺️ 12:27
Welcome To Singapore 🤗 Hope you both enjoyed your stay and moving around enjoying all the good yummy foodies. See ya around!👍😆
Thank you! Will really did!!!
22:42 kaya is basically coconut and pandan
You have missed it.... the egg, best method is to put a few drop of dark soya sauce, usually i put just 2 to 3. And be generous with ur pepper ( i like pepper) gentle mix of the egg with the sauce, dont break the yolk. Gulp the whole thing down. It feels suuuuper awesome and good.
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for your videos! But such a pity you did not explore the others parts of SG, there are very nice and budget food around and fun beautiful places to explore! 😢
We had limited time unfortunately! Looking forward to coming back already 🤭
@@JayandKarolinalet me know, I will treat you good food☺️
When you return, perhaps do a shout out to those who are keen to meet up with u. We will all have different gems to share with u both to enrich your understanding and experience of Singapore. :)
21:51 can always opt for kopi o/c Kosong if don’t want it sweet :))
Also, scoot, not sure if they have the scoot biz option, i feel the scoot biz is the best budget biz class u can get. Ideal for long hauls
It was about $300 starting bid so not sure if it’s worth it 😅
@@JayandKarolina not sure abt ur side, but for sg side going budget to places, u need to add on for luggage and meals. Whereas, scoot biz have 30kg and meals included. On top seats are bigger and comes with individual charging point. At least this is what i exp pre covid when i travelled to twn. Definitely worth it in my perspective.
Really looking forward to your adventures!! Enjoy 😊
Me too haha :)
Hey..
Where have you guys been?? Haven't you guys read or heard anything on Singapore before the trip?? Singapore is developed first world one of expensive cities..
We did but it is 100% more stunning in person!
You forgotten about the pepper n black soya sauce to be put into the eggs before eating
Lovely review and another you tube couple doing flight related reviews which i enjoy i follow alot of you tubers greetings from the Netherlands
Much appreciated! Welcome!
Best of luck on the journey Jay!
Cheers bro!
Love your new video's. What camera do use for vlog ?
GoPro Hero 11. No external mic and a windslayer for windy/high speed activities!
@JayeshChhaya thanks buddy do miss your gig hustle videos. I'm glad you started doing traveling 😊
Ah sweet! You got a vlogging channel!
Yes let’s go 😎
Noticed that you'd left your bags behind at the table in Yakun while you got your food. Nowehere else can you do that and not loose your possessions. Kaya is coconut jam . Glad you liked the local breakfast:)
Thanks for the tips!
You need to add black soya sauce (just a few drops) and pepper into the half-boiled eggs and mix it
That's what we've been doing since that time!
for the eggs, you have to put the soya sauce and pepper and eat it. better and more tasty
Welcome to Singapore! Hope you come back someday! And also… I forgot to mention if you had a nice trip! I hope you did.
I hope so too! We loved it!
hi bro all stations are Air con and all indoor places too ! in singapore. have a nice trip, Which airport did you fly in to singapore ,you did not mention , you keep your viewers wondering!
Haven't I haha? Changi Airport 🙌🏽 It's huge!
@@JayandKarolina which airport did you depart from?? Was it Greece,?
Add a few drops of soya sauce onto the egg and a dash of pepper. Mix the eggs thoroughly and dip. Sweet, creamy, and savoury. ❤. Kopi C kosong (without sugar) perfect combo.
Oh yeaaah!!!
Actually most of the coffee shops have breakfast set kaya toast, 2 eggs and coffee or tea, $3.00-3.50 range.
You’re saying about the Hawker Centres ones? We got a feeling that we need to spend around 5-6S$ per person for that set 🙌🏽
HDB area coffee shop and hawker center breakfast set also cheap. Cannot be $5-6.
Nah, you can buy the local SIM card at 7-eleven convenience stores … for $12 , $14 or $15 sing dollars .. depending on which service providers.
We needed to buy the best one from the airport providers though 😬
Should try mix the eggs together with pepper and soy sauce till it becomes a mixture. Then dip the toast into the egg, soy sauce, pepper mixture.
That’s what we’ve been doing since that time 🙏🏽
Welcome to our beautiful country guys 🇸🇬😍 Enjoy your stay and have fun! 💖🍺Cheers
The half boiled eggs we eat it w pepper and soy sauce. Sprinkle abit of pepper or ur preference. Then pour abit of the soy sauce. Stir it and it's yummy😋😋😅
It taste more delicious when you mix the soya sauce and the white pepper with the eggs. You can eat it like that or with the toast. Da bomb!
The chap on the dollar note is Mr Yusof Ishak, he was our first president.
Welcome to Singapore :)
Should try putting the soya sauce and pepper into the egg and mix everything together, dip the toast in the next time you try, the combination will be delicious, try it!
Hope you guys enjoy the kaya toast! Cheers!
Like abt 1 tsp of soya sauce
The Phone card you bought - Cannot understand the name you are saying. Very important as I will be going to Changi soon. John Mc
Hi John! Here is the link www.klook.com/en-MY/activity/16676-4g-travel-sim-card-singapore/
Love your ambition Jay and Karolina (hope spelling ok). Farewell to Gig Hustle.
Hi Jay, congratulations on the video you made 😄
Hi Karolina, you're nice as always 😘
It was our first video ever so glad you enjoyed watching it!
You break the eggs, add dark/light soy sauce into them, add some white pepper if u want.. stir them.. then dip the toast with jam into eggs..
Welcome to Singapore! Hope you enjoyed yourself 🎉
Welcome to SG🇸🇬 to both of you. I believed ur flight landed at T1 where it is link to JEWEL. Have a safe & good stay in 🇸🇬...
We could have done that but maybe next time! Thanks 🥳
You definitely need a local guide to bring you guys around next time!
Are you volunteering? We will take you up on it for the next time we're in Singapore! haha
@@JayandKarolina let’s do it!
i am Singaporean to!! I hope you enjoyed the scenery and the food + drinks!🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬
Yes we did 🥹 Already looking forward to be back in Singapore one day!
Now you know the true power of the Changi Airport :)
Yes we do hehe 😎
Should have gotten the teh instead of teh-o. Teh would come with condensed milk. Personally lovveee their kopi-c though. In any case, ya kun was a perfect choice - my favourite traditional kaya toast chain in Singapore by a far margin!
Thank you for the comment! After spending couple of days in Singapore we could have finally ordered what we really wanted to 😂 So many choices... Kopi/Kopi-C/Kopi-O (and all that might have also been Kosong/with ice)!
Kaya Toast was indeed our favourite breakfast in Singapore ❤️
There is also Teh C which uses evaporated milk. :) Richer milk and less sweet.
