It has the opposite effect for me. It's like watching a good suspense movie but skipping ahead every so often to the ending and spoiling things. If I already know the ending, where's the suspense?
@@Lorri. I see that and at times I agree like for the demo for horde night. Maybe instead of the specific events like showing the demo it could just be general zombie flashes or maybe at the start of the video have like a quick preview flashes of blood moon for like 10 seconds

Having sleepers semi-active also plays into the improved stealth mechanics. You can stay hidden and use stones to lure those sleepwalkers out for you to ambush.
The nerd hood: I've found its abundantly less tedious to bring the hood wasting 1 space, wear it, read, take it off, than it is to cart loads of books to and fro across the world.
As for the mines, Jen has a voice line: "Did you know you can pick up land mines with a wrench?" So it's either a joke by devs to make people kill themselves or it actually works like that - I never tried it.
The amount of work you do for editing is super impressive and amazing! Thank you for all this extra effort you put into entertaining us. Still number one on UA-cam for me!
You know it would take less space to bring the nerd piece with you than to bring the magazines home. When stealthing, you can hit triggers to wake sleepers, but they don't actually know where you are, and just wander (and sometimes run) towards the trigger.
The the first Dire wolf did 42 pts per hit. 43 pts of damage from the 2nd one! I notice that the bottom of the ramp is sitting on snow... seems like that could be a problem if the wrong zombie were to blow up there. The fact that Repair was available should have been an indicator. The cinematography for the Horde Night was AMAZING!!
Saw the direwolf's new design and the first thing that went through my head was: "DAMNIT WESKER!!" As for the base... it took a lot less damage than I thought it would. I guess the frost from the arctic conditions helped hold the mortar together and keep the base relatively intact.
I’ve seen bad performance everywhere. So much for the promise of optimization. I feel like these guys weren’t great coders to start and iduunno. Didn’t plan well.
Probably wouldn't be bad to go into Intelect and throw them from the base with a stun repulsor on a stunbaton. Nice work. Congrats for surviving horde night. It got me killed because I didn't expect demolishers this early and paniced when they blow my base.
You should dedicate a slot in your inventory for the nerd gear that increases your skill points from books so you dont need to lug all the books back home everytime.

I had my own run in with the zombie direwolf yesterday. It was in a tier 2 POI, the animal handling building to be exact. I went from 115 HP to 1HP in 4 hits. This new zombie animal is crazy awesome.
telling ya now a head of time we are almost to day 91 on our server... at night in the wasteland these zombie dire wolves spawn like crazy worse in cities... may the odds forever be in your favor lol and yes my first one gave me the same scare the pucker factor was real
You were severely outclassed in terms of zombie resiliency vs your DPS - and that just shows how excellent your fighting position design is. You were punching well above your weight class. It seems that TFP have changed the difficulty and progression up a bit, but your base front-end is able to keep up.
The direwolf is awesome. I have been really wanting more zombie types that are an actual danger, but rare to encounter. Something where when you see it, you know you might die. The feral wight used to be like that but not nearly as much for me anymore. I have been using the behemoth mod, and that does it very well.
First Dire Wolf I saw was during horde night day 14. I was like, "sweet Jesus WTF is THAT?". It took one swipe at me, took a whole chunk of health out of me, gave me a concussion, and just for shits and giggles, infected me as well... ME: *mag dumps 9mm pistol into the hell beast whilst screaming* OH SHIT OH SHIT OH SHIT OH SHIT... hooo, so that's a Dire Wolf huh? I guess I have Dire Wolves now. Wonderful...
That rads buff is just insane. Massive health boost, and it seems (at least to me) that they are more common. That combined with much slower weapon progression... I got swarmed by 10+ rads (2 mutaded, 4+ soldiers, 2+ spiders, and some hasmats) in tier 4 infested clear loot room (one of Fort POIs), on day 16. I had t6 stun baton, and t1 toilet pistol :P. Managed to take out maybe 2 of them before they took me out. Should have just run away :( Or into mine field, but I do not have the book, so it would not be easy in Forest biome.
What a difference one demolition zombie blowing up makes. Everyone hated them when they were added in A18 but they definitely make the game more interesting.
Just blown away with the Dire Wolf, zombie dogs were and still are my biggest fear in this game, BUT THAT...well that changes things and not in a good way either lol.
I’d be making a super happy fun slide under the drop doors at the fighting position to deposit the zoms away from the important bits because that will be both practical AND visually funny 😂
8:58 I was mining one night in the desert and a whole horde of those “Dire Wolves” came sneaking up on me and scared the life out of me. Good thing my vehicle was nearby. That’s something i would expect to see in Darkness Falls. Not vanilla 🤣
I’m sure I’ve seen that new Dire Wolf model already. That thing is hideous. I’m not looking forward to getting to that point. Been enjoying this series while sitting back on vacation for a week. Thanks Tem for the good times
I kinda like the process of saving the books for base when i can put the Nerd Chest on. It forces me to be a bit more picky with what i carry out of POI so I dont end up with quite so much clutter everywhere. Alternatively, leaving one slot saved in the bike etc just for the chest piece is another viable option.
Yeah dart traps, maybe a sledge turret would be nice for that fighting position. I was also thinking, down the line, if you could use a powered door and connect that to a switch you might have an easier time dumping zombies instead of trying to see in between those security gates.
My suggestion for the nerd armor inventory issue : keep the armor IN your inventory. In that case, you can periodically swap into the nerd armor and read the magazines on the spot, freeing up your inventory at the cost of a single inventory slot!
Awesome idea for traps. Build a "guard tower" alongside your base that is setup to shoot two dart traps directly across your fighting position, and with a couple smg turrets as well. Keep it unconnected except by wires to your base to avoid any pathing issues and build a second on the other side for symmetry and to protect both positions. That way you have a street sweeper switch you can flip to brutalize the zombie hordes without having to door dump them. Give it enough of a gap so even a demo blast wouldnt reach it as both darts and smg turrets have a decent range
re magazines, you lose less storage, ie 1 slot, if you keep your Nerd Hood in your backpack instead of losing 2 to 4 to 6 slots to magazines if you keep them to take home
Love that demo’s come earlier now and best of all I was looting a Crack a Book in the Wasteland on day 6 at night and a demo came in. Sure I panicked and he blew up the front half of the store but now I know that threat is out there.

21:14 you can see how the body dismemberment lags up the game there. Hopefully they have a workaround for that.
Not sure if it's the dismemberment or the explosions. In the dev streams it looked like lag spikes when explosions happened. Hope they fix that.
