FYI - At 15:25, the military pallet with nothing on it that can be seen on the ground where your wrench is, actually has ammo in it😉 Edit: For honey, yes stumps have a good chance to spawn bees. As a matter of fact , I think every stump I made had bees spawn. The light colored stumps will spawn bees, and turn the darker color after the bees are buzzing around it. After you harvest the honey, the stump can be harvested for logs as the bees will not re-spawn. Cheers!
Scaffolding ladder. Stoner can't shoot thru but you can. Don't stay to close you shall take damage :P and also V plate on ramps don't work. They start to beat plates instead of climbing the ramp. My horde base is simple elevated 14 blocks and on top 2 layers of scaffold for protection on top spikes for vulture and in front on wall bellow me spikes for spiders. I dig a trench to both sides of my ramp. they somehow don't wanna attack dirt. I hope you can understand me. My english is not high :D
Since the Stoners seem to want to attack from a distance, what about finding a large interior space like the basketball court at Navezgane High School and building inside? If you pushed the zombie ramp close to the walls maybe the stone throwers will attack the POI instead of your fighting platform? Or maybe add multiple layers of cheap blocks like wood as a kind of ablative cladding?
You can craft all the perk books in the research table. Its a bit expensive but unlocking all the batter up books will help a lot with stamina. Since PoI are easier to get through try to bring a stack of jars to collect easy water since most tend to have 1-3 water for collecting. The materials to make Inconel are easy to get. it just takes a long time to smelt in the forge. Chromium in the snow biome and Nickel in the wasteland. The inconel Mace is a massive upgrade compared to the Steel Club incase you need a new goal to work towards.
So far the best tactic I've come across for horde nights is to pick a random building, take out the stairs and hunker down behind as many layers of walls as you can. When the stoners have smashed those walls move to a different part of the building to give more shielding for them to hit. I've tried repairing as they hit the blocks but the wooden mallet can't keep up with their damage output. They also seem to have radar vision as no amount of thickness seems to block them from knowing precisely where you are and where they need to shoot to nail you. I'm going to try building a base with a crenellated roof top like a castle so I can try dodging in and out of cover to try and shoot them but they are very fast at firing and those stone balls pack a real punch when they hit you. Failing this I may try saving up mega crushes and just doing a run and dodge night :) Bust of luck on horde night fellow survivors!
Base suggestion: None for now, use higher tier POI's as sacrifices and build the real from concrete at least. Later build a watch tower type of base with ramp type fighting position. Hint: spikes on walls do wonders to spiders
Congrats on the motorcycle and better backpack. Way too many zombies everywhere, it's like an infested world, not just one POI. I like your base in the desert. That POI has a little place in my heart ever since A18(?) when I got caught out at night early on (was fairly new to the game) and just hunkered down on the roof of the garage.
idk if you checked the updates but those doors are WAY cheaper now. ;) the 5x4 one used to be 200 but now 60. For the rock throwers the best way I know is just to snipe them, I've built my horde base on top of the silo's this time with and it's holding up quiet strongly with peep holes here and there to snipe out of for those pesky throwers.
Hi Tem! So I've got some tips and tricks (though I haven't had time to watch this and the last episode, so ignore what you already know!): You can CRAFT specific perk books. Here are suggestions: -Complete batter up = full stamina on KILL (necessary) -Night Stalker that makes it unencumbered at night -Urban Combat that ignores armor penalties in combat -Army bases are the best way to accumulate ammo. The green ammo box piles (even the ones that just look like an empty ballet base have ammo) are often present in army bases and really give you way more than any end-loot can. -You can check which cans of food are used for cooking recipes. The ones you want to hold on too are peas (used for 3 recipes), beef (used for two), chilli (easy chilli dogs) salmon (easy fish tacos). If you can get a pumpkin farm going, pumpkin pie is awesome food if you have the spare eggs and a much better bang for your buck then bacon and eggs. I eat the canned foods that don't have a recipe and keep the rest. The best perks I got were the loot perks. They are worth their weight in gold.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the full stamina on kill only applies if you make the kill with a club doesn't it? I don't use clubs so getting the full set would be expensive and mostly useless to me.
@@BiffTech05 Indeed, but I was talking to Temreki, whom is using clubs. The same applies to the spear books and by the way, I think the spear is the best weapon in this mod. The push ability (power attack) can let you deal with rads, and then you have two perks that affect the spear : increased reach and more pushing strength. With all the spear books, you can pierce through multiple zombies with the power attack, push them back and do it from like 3 tiles away, and get full stamina of kill. It all synergizes super well. I've even dealt with two rads at the same time with a spear, which is kind of unthinkable under normal circumstances.
@@JohnDoe-fo7yi s'all good. I just wondered if I might have been wrong about that. I also agree about the spear, I've done playthroughs where it was my main horde melee weapon in vanilla, with the full set of books it's actually kinda OP. Haven't tried it yet in Afterlife, as I'm a stealth guy so my first priority was to see if it was even viable. .44 weapons and Magnum Enforcer books is also a good choice for the penetration, and since Tem is already on handguns it might be worth looking into as well (assuming he wants to keep going with handguns). The biggest issue in Afterlife is having to use stuff you actually suck at a lot to build up enough skill to suck a bit less.
The horde base u made at the radio tower is actually a really good base type… it’s plenty tall enough so they don’t go into rage mode but the big issue with that one is the ladder goes up the middle instead of on the outside… but using the scaffolding ladder would be best stone throwers and cops can’t shoot through but u can so doing a few layers of them should keep u far enough away so u don’t get hit by AOE damage from them… also making a nice 3 or 4 block distance for an over hang will keep the spiders from being able to get to u especially if u add spikes and/or barbed wire and then make a cage with spikes or turrets once u get far enough for electricity and whatnot lol but honestly that type of base for horde night would work best but ultimately the final decision is urs 💯🎯 but id try to find an open area in a tier 5 POI to build it on for the extra loot bonuses
Jd shipping is a large L shaped building with concrete floors, stone walls and multiple levels. Super easy to modify and impossible to take down. Also very easy to clear and has a lot of resources in it. Tons of possibilities.
More tips: Dont bother with the scrapping books nor the handyman mags : as soon as you find one nailgun or impact driver, all that progress of magazines is useless. (All you need are the loot perks) I didnt find that i ever needed medical mags The farming mags are worth it. Your food problems disappear once thats done. The 4x4 has 800kg, the box truck 2000kg, but the box truck is SO slow that it only a moving vehicle, not an everyday thing and isnt worth dumping the 450 steel it needs. Stick to the 4x4 and do two trips if needed.
Stumps: a little rhyme for you. 'if its brown with no bees around, It won't make honey so cut it down' They only spawn honeys once so cut them down after harvesting
Horde base Tem needs to be the order of steel watchtower, a tall column structure, some path ways up to a fighting position at the top of the tower with a 360 view to deal with the stoners with your new rifle and a spike pit at the bottom. from my experience with afterlife i think a horde base like this would work great.
You can easily scrap couches, sofas and double sofas/couches for 80/160 wood respectively and it takes around a couple of minutes. A single house could yield you 200-300+ Wood from scrapping these.I forgot the last time I chopped a tree down. It's worth picking up furniture and see what u can scrap. For example, scrapping beds can yield you 2.5k iron/scrap
Hope you had a nice bday Tem! Also, had a MONSTER horde spawn in my Afterlife game of about 40+ zombies at the same time and it crashed my game 😅 be aware!
Fighting stoners seems a bit like cops. I often use a fighting position jutting out from a solid base with a cage of bars above, below, and on three sides around me. Make it wide enough to run around. That lets the long-range shots explode a safe distance away but keeps vision open to be able to shoot them at a distance or if they run close. Build a ramp up or let the zombies rage below while you pick them off.
you need to go back to the final part of the shooting range and look through it again. there are so many military pallets that you missed hidden all over the place. i think you missed around 8 or so boxes, possibly more. oh and, did you see how the 2 boxes near the gate had a green plate on the ground next to them? that plate counts as a proper military box and has ammo. Also, you can use the silencer for the SKS and maybe even the pistol. it will give a small penalty to damage and doesn't grant the sneak attack bonus like bows do, but it will significantly reduce the number of zombies you attract when shooting in the downtown area
Craft Urban Combat books for no damage penalty with silencers. Mind you, I'm a stealth guy, so the entire series is a must have for me anyway. Maybe not so much for run and gun types. That said, everyone should have a good rifle with a scope and a silencer for basic perimeter defence and dealing with stoners... it's also helpful in the game as well.
@@BiffTech05 ah, a fellow kindered spirit. i lucked out into finding a silencer, an X8 scope and a good quality mosin during an excursion to the snow biome (bad idea. wouldn't recommend it) and honestly, it is by far the most useful item i have so far.
@@houjisaifeddine5524 I don't usually carry it around with me, I mostly only carry it when I'm at my base, but it's certainly useful for thinning out the never ending wandering hordes from a distance when you're out raiding as well. Hence suggesting everyone should have one, no matter your build.
In my playthrough of afterlife I explored most of the forest biome and found no blueberries but I did find the desert and wasteland biomes lol. Also Happy belated birthday!
I feel like if the dev was going to make the environment that bright, they should have added in sunglasses or something to reduce the glare, much like how certain hats reduce the rain effect. I can't imagine how blinding being in the snow biome must be. Also not sure I like the sheer density of zombies. Sure, you need the EXP, but never catching a quiet moment when rest is required is kinda ridiculous. It's like having feral sense on at half strength at all times. Are Stoners like Cops? Do they need line of sight to fire at you, or do they just fire off in your direction without seeing you? Maybe you can make it so they can't see you; I noticed they weren't shooting last horde until they got through the walls to see your location. I also like the idea of using plates or some other low cost block as armor cladding in layers, both to block line of sight and disrupt firing patterns by forcing the zombies to break the blocks before shooting at you directly. If you're gonna use the rooftop of a building, at least throw up a simple cage to cover your head while still being able to shoot out, using some of those blocks that stop incoming projectiles. I'm fully expecting you to start having to deal with puke vultures soon.
ROFL - when you were worried about having scrapped the engine. I have SO scrapped things I was trying to use, or that I really needed. Scrapped cans of food instead of eating them, I've scrapped books and magazines I needed to read... UGH. I'm glad you didn't though, the motorbike is awesome.
another amazing video my friend.. I'm still stuck in the forest biome.. went once to the desert and other to the snow biome and got my A@# kicked so I went back to the forest for now. lol
I think a mountain or underground base are the only options. Gotta reduce the surface area exposure to the rapid ranged attacks I'm planning on chaining several subsurface pill box type bunkers together along a tunnel system. Maybe even build a fortified wall around each box to shield from the ranged attack and their AOE effects. Looking forward to see what you come up with.
Sounds dicey, I hope your planning escape routes as well. Don't forget the zombies will dig to get to you. You really don't want to get trapped down there.
Wall is best solution - this zombies have a friendly fire AOE and shooting close on wall cause them die. You just need to find proximity when they start fire at you.
did you know: the Metal Chain mod only affects knockdown as in the vanilla perk Pummel Pete, which means you get an extra 10% chance to knock a knocked down foe back down to the base chance. I personally never opt for that mod since I could either max out the perk, or just not use clubs at all
Don't know if you noticed, but the flat square tops from the military pallets are their own loot-able container. Sometimes they'll just look like a flat green thing on the ground, other times you'll find them on top of whole pallets.
While I agree with that Orange is the best DYE for the motorcycle. It actually looks best with NO dye. The white of the bleached skeleton motif is peak.
You're still not smelting the T3 loot chests. Those give A LOT of iron ingots, well worth the weight in your inventory to haul them back. As for the horde base, I don't know about desert since I have mine in the forest, but a standard meta base made of brick (at least the front) on top of a solid POI roof worked well for me if I focused on taking out the bombers when they appeared. I just went to the roof, popped off a few shots and that's it. You could double layer the walls for safety, but I didn't seem to need to, did 4 or 5 hordes now. If you want something different to do, try making it pimped up with decor and a bed, so you get the benefits of resting while fighting :D
Im not sure, but i think that maby T5 decor can be when you paint your base.. I've not tested it, but i would try to! Also i found out a T3 decor - some military table, it was located on one T4 POI thats like a checkpoint on the main road! Its almost in the end of the POI inside a big tent! Now the mod has been updated and some things are different, like for example if you want to extract fuel from cars, you need not only a jar/jerry can, but also to craft a syphon and wear it in your inverntory!
I was thinking of a "bubble" or "cage" around the platform or base. Think of the one that was trapped in the oil tank. He couldn't get a good line of sight on u. But, u could shoot him if u had to. Also, don't stay in one spot. Alternative is just hang out on roof of poi. If u don't kill any, no more will respond. (Unless mod is different.
Stumps that you leave can definitely generate honey, I've seen it in my world. What I'm not sure of is if stumps can keep generating honey or if it only happens once.
The barbed wire does bleeding damage I think, so like 2 damage per second. You wont notice it in standard zombie killing. Knockdown is pretty much always welcome imo. Seriously though, that took a lot of effort to do but you have finally gotten the major motor vehicle for the run. I get the feeling the 4x4 is going to be an absurd amount of materials. Also, is there perhaps a perk that would help with your thermal regulation? I know it exists in vanilla, not sure about this mod.
Base suggestion: your radio tower base was about 20 blocks high (the fighting platform I mean), if I am not mistaken. Cops spit from 25 or less blocks. I'd bet the Throwers attack is governed by those same rules. So you need to be 26 or higher blocks up. I'd test it, but don't have that mod installed, yet.
@@GunsNerdsandSteel Really? Mind pointing me to some test video where this fact gets established? I've tried to find one on your channel, but with no luck. I ask because I've tested cops extensively in A18, when I was working on my ultimate horde base and in horizontal tests with over a hundred tries not a single cop spit from more than 25 block distance to me. Vertically that also seemed to be the case. Since that time I've played many campaigns and fought over a hundred horde nights and I honestly do not recall cops or rad vultures (or any other spitting enemy in overhaul mods) spitting from such a long distance.
started a vanilla game with a friend on monday....and wouldn't you know it, first decent house RIGHT next to the trader...is....ahem.. YOUR house. so i've got my beginner base in the same spot you do. heehee.
I know you are already done with this series, and I'm sorry this mod didn't really interest me so it took a while for me to watch it. Anyway, next time you want to build a fence use Ramp 6m #2 and place them on their side making a jersey barricade style wall. If you build it back to back and upgrade it to concrete the even without building it 2 high you can build a fence the zombies will run around. Jawoodle has a video on this. The only problem you can't get corners without mods but Phys1csGamez made a mod that added the corners. You don't really need them but it's makes the corners look nice. If you use a full block the zombies will see it as something to punch through. I started using that for a defensive wall placing spikes at a "doorway" and just hopping over the wall myself.
ive built a 3 high wall around aldos cabinats which is my base left a entrance for my buggy and a few door entances for zombies on horde night works well stone thrower get stuck on wall , and if they cant see you they dont fire
Happy Birthday guy! sorry i missed your stream but i don't like streams even though i would love to have seen your play War3Zuk...thats my game...third series infact....i have a birthday on the 15th...love the video
You shouldn't have scrapped a single explosive magazine until u unlock gunpowder crafting which is the second or third thing you unlock with explosive magazines
it would be great if someone could add an SSK .950 JDJ RIFLE with the .950 AMMO and 6 to 10 round clip also a M134 MINIGUN BACKPACK with 1000 rounds of 7.62 ammo to start with, of course you could have it hold up to 8000 rounds that would be great and have it double as your inventory backpack too holding 15 X 30 slots for items. This would be good for those who play a NOMAD SERIES and help with HOARDNIGHT in later stages of the game.
what i am about to say is not a joke, i really found this. blueberries are kinda rare but what is very rare is the blueberry bush that is a zombie. it can be harvested for more berries than a bush normally gives
In my experience the stoners don't care about line of sight. They will happily pound your walls to dust to get a shot at you. They never close range and will smash through multiple layers of stone and concrete to get their shots to land.
@@TheGamermage okay.. I had hoped they acted more like cops. perhaps doing like Jawoodle and cover the base with dirt would help break their line of sight

A suppressor will probably be a good Idea when raiding POIs as it won't alert nearby zombies
another amazing video my friend.. I'm still stuck in the forest biome.. went once to the desert and other to the snow biome and got my A@# kicked so I went back to the forest for now. lol
I think a mountain or underground base are the only options. Gotta reduce the surface area exposure to the rapid ranged attacks
I'm planning on chaining several subsurface pill box type bunkers together along a tunnel system.
Only once. When the stumps turn that darker colour they have a chance to get bees or not. Dark stump with no bees will never get bees.
The Boxtruck wants 450 steel...
Base suggestion:
your radio tower base was about 20 blocks high (the fighting platform I mean), if I am not mistaken. Cops spit from 25 or less blocks. I'd bet the Throwers attack is governed by those same rules. So you need to be 26 or higher blocks up. I'd test it, but don't have that mod installed, yet.
Range is 35m
Good Morning! What a way to wake up to a cup of Joe and blood gore and mayhem.
You have animal hide that turns into a decent amount of leather.
perfect timing for me to watch while eating breakfast!
started a vanilla game with a friend on monday....and wouldn't you know it, first decent house RIGHT next to the trader...is....ahem.. YOUR house. so i've got my beginner base in the same spot you do. heehee.
17:04 The six foot long SKS.
I was JUST about to say something about that.
Happy birthday 🎂
Thank you for your fun video
Man, that desert looks good with Afterlife. They really nailed the ambiance.
It'd be even cooler if the sunglasses actually, y'know, worked like sunglasses.
Tons of fuel at that shotgun messiah's too.
and a whole lotta ammo. There's a ton of those military crates in there.
Your character looks like Jesse "I ain't got time to bleed!" Ventura in Predator.
it takes a few days, but yeah, I had my "wood choppin' area" get bees moving in.
The blueberries were the worst thing to farm when I first started🤣
that sks just needs a scope mounted on top with electrical tape.
Tape? That's easy mode, lol! You should have to make and use rope, ;-)
When Tem says hes going clubbing with some party girls, it means something a LITTLE different.
the only T5 Decor should be the Thick flag... that is all we need
35:54 It gives workstation skill!
hey tem just so u know u can craft animal hide into leather XD
ive built a 3 high wall around aldos cabinats which is my base left a entrance for my buggy and a few door entances for zombies on horde night works well stone thrower get stuck on wall , and if they cant see you they dont fire
They don't care if see you. They shoot
Can you use the Jerry cans to haul water too? Might be worth looking into, that'd be a ton of water.
35:24 Tripling actually
Does the nerdy chest armor still have the chance to read an extra book in this mod?
Might be worth crafting to expedite your crafting skills
Happy Birthday guy! sorry i missed your stream but i don't like streams even though i would love to have seen your play War3Zuk...thats my game...third series infact....i have a birthday on the 15th...love the video
happy birthday !
I find the chain mod far better than the barbed wire mod.
what's that? wild blueberries? in the forest? sometimes along small paths? I know i told you to roam the forest a couple times... YOU NERD!"
This mod gives a feel of where this game should be heading up... but in another way.
At 24:27 There is a Zombie T posing while laying down and glitched into the Sand Ground. I just wanna know what he's trying to prove with that pose.
that SKS is comically large... at least 25% too long.. maybe 30% too long, seems to thick also.
You know hell divers is coming a third fraction of coming soon😅😮😊
Fun watch
Have you considered trying District Zero after this series or in tandem with this one?
0:23 was that something you can do in the mod as-is, or did you need to tweak some of the xml files to add that as a new block?
scrap hide .. leather tada
And here we have Baelin trying his hand at 7dtd.
wish I could get my desert to look like this.
what i am about to say is not a joke, i really found this. blueberries are kinda rare but what is very rare is the blueberry bush that is a zombie. it can be harvested for more berries than a bush normally gives
I believe I know what you’re talking about. Was this patched out?
When you start planting berries I get 1 bushmen of 10 farmplots
I was thinking since your making a smaller wall maybe you could take down the outer wall to get some extra resources back
a base that can counter stoners? Build a base in a restaurant and put out a buffet ;)
👍👍
After watching the stream, i was like where the bike?
did you ever try the sunglasses to see if they'd cut down on the glare in the desert?
They don't, but it's being worked on from what I hear
Not every stump will turn into honey stump its like 1 or 2 out of ever ten trees you cut down
👏🥃
I think Hughs sign is T5 isn't it?
i still dont understand both 1.0 and this mod why there are rocket launcher parts EVERYWHERE
those stumps should give honey but just once
What if you build underground the stoner won't see you,the spiders can't clime and the birds can't reach you
I really wanted to like Afterlife (to play myself) but the just went too hard. It's not fun anymore. At least watching you is still interesting.
Why not upgrade your current storage system just 10 iron and a claw hammer and wallah
rocket launcher parts are a special curse of uselessness
Archie Bunker on Democrats
Steven Cain
$$$$$$$$
Um where’s your Thicc af flag?
I'll have to check on that, I'm not sure if you can craft them 🤔
Regarding horde base, Just break line of sight, then they must come for you.
Happy birthday tem keep up the great work
