Meet Tzeentch:
Back in WHFB Hexwraith were spirits (seemingly not the ghosts of dead people, but things of their own) from the realm of death, that hunted down any soul which somehow escaped (sort of Bounty Hunters/marshals of Morr?). The Necrarch managed to find ways to summon and bind them into service, which is super ironic on account of them basically opposing Undeath. So they were apparently Warhammer Fantasy's Spirit Torments.
Ohw I never knew that, that is actually a really cool piece of lore :o

@@barthelloren Okay minor correction. They emerge on Hexennacht and hunt those that have cheated death not necessarily escaped from it. There's not explicit connection to Morr and what exactly they are is not given. There is however no mention of them being spirits of the deceased at all. They do however absorb the spirit essence of everyone they kill, which is the explanation for the flames in fantasy.

Recently got into warhammer and I picked them cause they have the best aesthetic in all of warhammer
wasnt super big on lore but DAMN these all have great little one-off story bits that make each unit enjoyable without needing to understand everything about the grand allegiances and gods or whatever and the shit that came before the big boom
kinda wish the harridans werent such an iffy unit to work with cause their story is sweet, opposite to the hexwraiths who are a really strong unit but shit flavor text
Some of these paint nagash in a more neutral position. Dealing out very just punishment...
While the others are just petty and childish...
