Sweetwater Gave it a thumbs up before watching, this is Slash man🤘
Sweetwater 🎸 guitar players never lose their voice it gets better
I’d liked it before I watched it . Is Slash auto like mode activated lol
sure
Done and done. I drove past sweetwater this weekend on the way to Notre Dame. I stop by next time for sure
I got to meet Slash at the Viper Room in Hollywood in April 2002. I told him “Slash, you are such a huge influence for me on the guitar, thank you so much.” He smiled big and extended his hand to shake mine. I went back to some people I was talking to and wept. When your hero is as cool as you’d always hoped he’d be, it’s something that is never forgotten.
That’s amazing man
erictoniaschwab1009 Very cool experience. Lucky guy you are.
Ppl use the word hero to loosely. That Dr who kept me from od'ing, thx, you're a hero. Wever his name was. I was fd up, I don't remember.
He seems like one of the genuine people who doesn’t keep a facade, he just is who he is
Amazing 🔥
This guy is the reason I picked up a guitar...thanks buddy, it changed my life
Awww.
Thanks buddy you ended me up with an abusive wife and spoiled children. And this stupid house that gets flooded every time it rains.
Your welcome friendo
after picked up the guitar , learn and improvise slash scale , and finally chasing the tone
Slash is so loved by everyone. Not only does he play with such soul, he is so humble. This is why he's been so successful with his bands.
Hello it’s slash! I just came across your comments on my post here! You really sound like a true fan of mine! thank you ..!!
@@slashslash1398 stop bugging me
so true love the way hell hold a note instead of quickly going to the next note and that les paul helps too I'm 56 and been playing since I was 15 but liked the flashy guitars like flying V's for example but I just bought my first Gibson les paul and it makes you change how you play,a little slower with some feeling in it I love it that's why I was never a big fan of Metallica too fast and no soul.
anyway you are soooo right.
have a good day 😊
The reason I picked up the guitar! 🎸🙌
Oliver_B and you 👊
Me too. The reason i even started listening to rock n roll
Same :) Living legend he is
Same
Ibraam HEY KAAAARL !!🤘🤘🤘🎩🎩🎩 same reason ahah
Slash is the man! So chill, so humble, so good at what he does. BE LIKE SLASH!!
Slash looks great and healthy, I'm glad he got cleaned up.
Lance37a yeah like....10 years ago 😂😂😂
@@tgodswagjesusfreak well it's an on going battle he looks great.
Most people have to once they hit 40. A hard night partying is easy to recover from at 20, but can take a lot longer at 40 and result in multi-day hangovers. Then there are those people with iron clad livers that can drink and snort etc until they are 80. Just as well, or the Rolling Stones would be wound up years ago (only joking, I think Keith is clean mostly these days too). I quit drinking after messing up my spine and getting disabled. Here in NZ drinking is how people socialize. Hanging out with drunk people is no fun when sober. I had to find other stuff to do. Weird because I do not drink, but I got obsessed with learning how to distill a decent vodka for a while and rely on family to test it for me. They did not mind at all. Now i just try to master pizza making. Perhaps some pedal and amp building next.
He looks great?
@@mrBDeye look at pictures of him from 20 years ago, he looks better.
I'm a simple man, I see Slash and I click
One of the rare interviews where I've seen Slash completely comfortable, you can see he likes the interviewer and the questions he's being asked. Awesome!
Koala de l'espace because he wasn’t asked about Axl !!
@@recabitejehonadab2654 indeed!
Ok, that was a great interview because Slash clearly likes who is interviewing him and was having a good time. It wasn't publicity it was just a great conversation. I wish more were like that. Not that Slash ever phones it in, but you can tell when you're getting the goods.
That was great. It's like they were chatting.
Yea for sure, you can tell when it’s just an appearance type deal or an actual interview with someone that doesn’t ask old ass questions like “why the top hat?”
Hello it’s slash! I just came across your comments on my post here! thank you fan..!!
@@Redfrog1011 That, and before the reunion, it was always 20 different Axl questions. I saw him finally put one dude in his place.
it's amazing that this man went from being a drunken drugged guy who would barely speak to the articulate person he is today.
The reflections in Slash's glasses look like the World On Fire music video.
It stood out to me when the interviewer said that he see Slash's playing had improved and Slash said he appreciated that.
I remember a few years back getting that Live From Stoke album and being genuinely blown away at how Slash had grown as a player and the new directions he was going in. His playing definitely has evolved and it's beautiful to see.
I love how articulate and down to earth he is. Cool dude.
Slash is like the most chill guitar player ever
How 18 people dislikes listening to Slash talk guitar is mind boggling! Slash was my generations Jimmy Page or Keith Richards and probably the last of Rocks great guitar players.
Those are the kind of people I don't care to know.
Dalton AVEMARIA Nita Strauss is no slouch!
Recabite Jehonadab Who? lol
Slash has solidified his mark in Rock.
He's just so fkn humble ... what a legend. he signed my Guitar twice - it was like COLD AS FUCK outside, but he did take his time for every fkn fan around there!
Great interview! Brilliant questions and really great to see slash so comfortable and answering so honestly, thank you very much for a great video :)
As I read a lot of these comments, its so great to see how many people were inspired by him to pick up the instrument in the first place, and it makes me think of the people that inspired him to play. I love that process. He’s a pretty honest player. If you haven’t heard the “Ain’t life grand” record, check it out. Its a perfect record IMHO. I think of it as his “Rocks” (Aerosmith).
Glad to see Slash doing so well and healthy! Love me some GnR!
A good friend of mine from L.A., who works for a Children's fund said to me recently that he met Slash multiple times as he (Slash) was one of the biggest donors to children's well being, education, etc., and found him to be a very humble person. The way he responds to the crowd at every show, simply says what he's all about. I say this out of experience seeing him live post G'N'R as a solo artist to now where I saw him live with G'N'R in Dubai in 2017. He' still the same. A living legend.
Hello it’s slash! I just came across your comments on my post here! thank you lovely fan..!!!
@@slashslash1398 wow Slash. I'm a huge fan. Keep rocking. Lots of love and respect from Pakistan. Thanks for your message.
You’re welcome once again my dear lovely fan!!
Slash is the reason I bought 2 Les Pauls. The guy does magic with those instruments like it's nothing, and yet he's so down to earth and humble. He gives a lot of his income to charity organizations particularly for children. I know this cause a friend of mine has worked with him for a child shelter in California.
I realized that slash is the bus driver from the Simpsons.
Alex Johnson Otto?
Fun fact- otto was actually based on slash🤘😁👍
@@slashthe2nd well duh ;)
@@pietunuortimo2332 yeah well not everyone knew that😉
"Guitars, that are, like ... double guitars ..."
Slash: "Guitars, that are, like ... double guitars ..."
Gibson: * APPROVED *
Slash really took me by surprise. Fantastic player yet very soft spoken and a humble guy.
I've been lucky enough to have met slash twice in denver and atlanta,he really is a cool guy,he even gave my wife a hug!
One of my heroes and the one that actually made me buy my first guitar!!!
I know I am not the only one either....
Everybody’s different, have perseverance, find your strengths and weaknesses. Work really hard, keep your guitar around, when ideas come, let it happen :)
Slash is an absolute legend. So much you can learn from this interview alone
the truth has been spoken..slash said that pop music is all about vocals and no musicians/players in it..cheers😂😂
yeah! and it is a big difference in between
ZuRa_Janai best thing he said!
🤣🤣🤣The shade was subtle and factual
Slash inspired me years ago in the early 90's when he said he would play 8 hours a day before a show in a magazine interview. He is consistent and honest. Very Inspirational Slash. Thank you. Thank you also for doing this interview.
Slash was my inspiration to play guitar back in the AFD days.. He is my true idol. Genuine rock n roll star, guitar god, who is humble and such a great guy to hear speaking. Great video. I never tire of listening to Slash play or speak. Such a lazy and unique style. Amazing.
Slash, the whole reason I started playing guitar after I saw the Paradise City video, he looked so cool
It’s nice to watch an interview between two people that have known each other for years.
Hello it’s slash! I just came across your comments on my post here! thank you fan.!!
Hey Slash! Could i get one of those Les Pauls that you don’t like too much? Thanks man!
Lmaooo same
Sure
Slash, I actually want one you really like🎸
Supreme Lord Commander meeee toooo
MrHinkey send a letter to him
I'm seeing GnR this Saturday in LA. Can't wait.
Fred Smith how did it go ? :)
@@rohanmahendru6610 They played for 3 hours.... amazing.
How did Axl sound live? Was it any different from what we hear in videos?
Rohan Mahendru I’ve seen them twice, and Axl kicked ass both times.
Probably my favorite guitarist. Has been from day one. First concert ever: 5/25/1991 @ Alpine Valley. G'n'R + Skid Row. Will never forget it.
Jason Perry that was the first time I got to see them on that tour with Skid Row. I loved seeing them but when I saw them, Use Your Illusion hadn’t come out yet so I didn’t know any of the songs they did other than You Could Be Mine, Civil War and everything from Appetite.
I was there too! My 2nd concert. 1st was at World Music Theatre, Aldo Nova, Winger, Mr. Big, Great White, Scorpions.
@@joeblough261 My second show was Aldo Nova, Steel Heart, Mr. Big, Great White, Scorpions @ Alpine on 7/13/1991. Looks like the night before at World Music Theatre, Winger was playing, not Steel Heart.
@@PerryCodes Ha! Well you got the better end of that deal, even if just for one song, to hear dude from Steelheart belt out "I'll never let you goooooo!" Winger was mocked then like Nickelback is now, but I did like Headed for a Heartbreak.
The highlight of the last GnR tour was slash’s improvisations. He’s a great player.
Brilliant interview slash is amazing and so down too earth a true guitar legend
The fact that Slash can speak on recording techniques confidently, understanding the mixing processes only make me further understand how great of an artist and how humble of a person he is
Everytime I see my guitar, I see his face telling me to just play what I am feeling that time. This guy is awesome. Luv him🤩🤩
Stumbled across these Sweetwater interviews by mistake. Glad I did. They really show a side of the artist we all figured was there, but never get to see. Thanks for that.
This interview could of went on for another hour or two. Great questions and great answers! Much respect to Slash.
I love how slash is so calm all the time he’s pretty chill
Slash you're one of the best guitarist of this age!

i hope we can enjoy his talent for many years to come...slash if you are reading this thx man from the bottom of my heart!!
Such a good interview with a lot of respect. This is how interviews should be.
Also the reason I picked up the guitar, thanks Slash.
Slash is such a humble and chill dude, one of my favorite rockstars
First time ever i saw him with beard... Thank You slash for inspiring.
I have always had a great deal of respect for Slash but this interview really added to my admiration.
That was cool, he's not done many interviews recently with GnR back together, oddly. Nice one.
My all time favorite guitar player. I dig your soul man.
Wish I saw him at the show he did there at Sweetwater, wasn't able to make it 😢
As he us a great guitarist, he's a great man.
No ego.. No pride.... Just hard work... talent... Passionately aggressive to play.
Hello from India
One of the best guitar players
Loving the Bea profile picture! Him and Slash are my favourite big-haired guitarists.
@@maxscardanelli6185 thanks, Bea and Slash inspired me into playing
I love Slash! Slash and Dimebag Darrell are my biggest influences. Thank you both for going for it long ago!

Hello it’s slash! I just came across your comments on my post here! thank you fan...!!!
The best interview that I've seen of slash in years , great questions very clever
😎👍
Slash and myles at a small venue was one of the loudest shows I ever experienced! And I've been to some loud ones. Need more guys like slash.
Nick is Also a gentleman! Excellent video
A lot of people are saying Slash was the reason that they picked up the guitar which is great. But, Nick was part of a group of early 80s Britsh Heavy Metal bands guitarist that made me pick up the guitar. Nick Bowcott is so underrated.
Beast of a guitar player and so damn humble.
Slash is the man!
Excellent interview! Slash's passion for music really comes through.
Hello it’s slash! I just came across your comments on my post here! thank you fan.!!!
His shreds are SO RIGHTEOUS
Great lnterview great show
And that is a big reason that everytime i see Slash it makes motivate me how i play much better and better and better
Saw Slash for the first time last month. He's definately in my top 3 guitarist of all time. He is amazing to see live. Very electrifying player. Never repeats himself which is so hard to do, especially live
Also one of the reasons I picked up the guitar and one of the reasons I still play today. Love ya man!
Yeah! He asked the right questions! So many information in this Interview I realy wanted to know! thank you!!
Thanks for checking it out, Wilma!
What a great lucid interview. Well done.
Hello it’s slash! I just came across your comments on my post here! thank you fan.!!!
Solo project or with a band, Slash just keeps doing great rock n roll music
Just saw him live last month🤘
His one of my favorite guitar player.👍👍🎸😎
Just like many of you here, this is the man that made me learn to play guitar. The very first moment I've heard Godfather from that 1992 GNR Live in Tokyo DVD, I knew that I wanted to learn to play. And for that thanks so much Slash...:)
