He came into the restaurant I was managing about 20 years ago (Fort Wayne Indiana). Unfortunately I was off that day, dammit!! Anyhow, they told me he was super nice and left a nice tip.
Interesting that he's so down to earth considering he is essentially LA royalty, his dad made album covers for famous artists like Neil Young and his mother made outfits for famous rock stars like David Bowie and Janis Joplin, Bowie was her ex. He lived a few doors down from the Beach Boys and the Animals, Laurel Canyon was nuts back in the late 60s, even the Mason family was hanging out there
Slash is one of the hardest working musicians, he never seems to stop. Starts touring next week with SMKC, then touring with GNR & straight after again with SMKC. Legend

I seen him in Airport ppl swarmed him, o thought it was rude, he was with family! Yeah he is a star, but they are still just family to there family members! That would get old!! He is very humble, he opened door and held it till I was out! Very kind! We are same age, both born 1965, mine is June his is July!!

I walked past Slash in a hotel in London and was surprised I was taller than him, but his stature is immense. One of the rock greats and still producing some incredible stuff. In a time of such bad music he is a beacon for the real thing.

I was in high school when they hit MTV, lol... first time I heard him speak I thought he sounded like Michael Jackson. 😂 I think this is only the 2nd time I have heard him talk. Here's something interesting about Slash that I never knew:

There was a time this guy would sit in the interviews and pass out from all the drinking in the middle of it. I meann low-key surprised and incredibly proud that he made it this far ❤️ still a rocker. Always has been always will be.

I have never heard Slash talk about Steven Adler this much in an interview in any positive light. So that's really nice.
I met Slash in Guitar Center in Sherman Oaks CA around 2005. Nice dude. He IS SLASH, it isn't an act.
His son was having an EPIC temper tantrum on the floor, literally kicking and screaming, and Slash was having a "dad moment" while trying to buy drum sticks.
I told him I would comp the sticks so he could go but he wouldn't take them for free, he said he had credit on account, which I looked up for him and then he was just like " dude I gotta go, I'll get sticks another time." It was so weird but also very genuine, I met arguably my biggest hero of my childhood and he was in full Slash attire but couldn't have been in more of a regular dude moment.
I had the epic pleasure of seeing Slash shred a guitar with Angus Young from AC/DC on stage in Sydney with GNR, it was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. :)

So talented, my all time favorite guitarist. I loved Rod Jackson as the frontman as well as Scott Weiland and Myles.
He's such a true-to-life character. He's not playing a role. (Kiss, Alice Cooper) Undeniably identifiable. He signs autographs or used to and talks to fans. He's almost 60 but seems so much younger. I guess 60 is the new 30 something.
Right...like he's wearing that top hat when he's alone at home.

The coolest human on the planet. I had the pleasure of meeting Slash after one of his shows and he is a genuinely friendly, laid back dude.
So happy for you! Yeah that’s all I’ve ever heard about him - totally down to earth, really cool and chill guy who loves chatting with fans.

I saw GnR at Slane Castle in 1992, when Axl went off for one of his multiple wardrobe changes, Slash just chilled on the side of the stage playing an instrumental of Wild Horses on a 12 string acoustic, just a dude noodling away waiting for his mate to get back so they could get shredding again. It was one of the best live music experiences I have had.
I would have loved to see them at Slane Castle and also Red Hot Chili Peppers! ❤️

One of the most talented, coolest and most down to earth celebrities EVER. I saw him live 5x with Myles and 2x with GN'R and each time so close to him (amazing seats). I can't take my eyes off his hands (I'm in a full Guitar God trance) and his playing gives me goosebumps each time.
Slash seems very happy and relaxed in his skin these days. He seemed very nervous in a lot of past interviews. That dress story was great

Never was a big GnR fan, just couldn't warm up to Axl's voice but I like Slash and a lot of the non-GnR stuff he's done. Awesome guitar player and seems like a genuine good guy.

My personal favorite Slash's guitar work (and songs in general) outside GNR is the first Velvet Revolver's album Contraband. The songs are so kickass. RIP Scott Weiland

Aside from being a good guitar player, He's a cool guy down to earth. That makes a great musician and human. I met him at Sweetwater and he stopped to sign autographs for everyone out back. I've seen other people who play guitar there avoid the crowd... Which usually is only 12-20 people out back by the bus. Props to Slash I'll be buying the vinyl record.

This is the first time I've heard his voice. He is just so cool.
Dude thank you for letting him talk and tell his stories, I love hearing studio stories, even if it's just about how they mic something up. If anyone's paid attention, if music isn't electronic, I've noticed more and more that, if it's not the loudness wars (still 🙄) it's the lack of "air" in recordings. No ambience. I've left comments about this elsewhere. But while reverb was a big thing in the 80s obviously and I'm not referring to that, people aren't mixing in the instruments' sound in the room! Listen to Use Your Illusion. There's "room" between the instruments. It isn't always necessary, but it definitely makes drums and percussion sound insane. Compare Full Moon Fever's sound to anything recorded for UA-cam by any artist today. Even sea shanties recorded today sound so compressed and with zero breathe or atmosphere. So I'm glad they mic'd up the room. I'll check out the new album (I was playing it earlier but wasn't paying attention).
