Anyone else in the US hear a name, fall in love, say it (with an American accent), and get really sad that they don't sounds as good? It happens to me all the time!
Completely off topic, but my mum got a pet fish for her birthday and I was supposed to name it. I’ve never felt so important. So, her name is Florentina and she’s blue and living her best life😂🧚🏻♀️
The name we chose for my son that is due in July is Silvan. It's derived from Silvanus the Roman Deity of forests and fields. Would've been perfect for this list and is extremely uncommon.
Finally!! My name fits in one of the theme names!!!! TULIP is a really unique name and I'm so in love with it...My mom was the one who named me and I couldn't be more thankful❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
We just welcomed our daughter Ellawyn into the world in February, which is kind of an alternative spelling for Elowen 🥰 Right now her nickname is Ella, but Wyn or Winnie could come in time too ♥️
I have a little Elowyn. I herd the name back in 2009 and fell in love with it. Just stuck with me and 9 years later I called my little girl it. I always wanted unique names but hubby was set in a British name so went I was it was Cornish I was so happy x ps: Love your videos I literally sit and listen to your videos to while chilling. You didn’t the most stunning names x
Thanks so much for bringing out these videos! I’m a busy mom of 3 so love just putting your voice on in the back ground to get some baby girl name ideas. My sons are Lincoln, Hudson and Easton but I’ve got my heart set on a girl.
The pronounciation of Oskari is OS-kah-ree. A rule of thumb on Finnish names is that the weight is always on the first syllable, like in Tapio (TAH-pee-o) or Lumi (LOO-mee)
Wonderful as always! Could you possibly create a video on Scottish/Gaelic names? @@dammyjodger1 I love this :) Was very tempted to use "Saria" for a girl's name 😜. We ended up naming our son "Lochlan". We chose the Irish spelling because we were living in England at the time and didn't want everyone calling him "Lack-lin" if we went for the Scottish "Lachlan" spelling. My family are full of men called "James" and I didn't want to have yet another boy called James. Turns out Hamish is the Gaelic of James!
ELOWEN ... When I was a baby I had a stray cat.. I use to say "hello in" but said it like ELOWEN that was years ago must of only been about 2.. that's what we called the cat. I'm 28 now I love it!

“Have you tried turning it off and on again” 😆 my hubby’s a it guy and he always says this to me. My little boy asked for a baby sister and wants to call her flower, so I love this kind of baby name list, Altho I think I have the name 🤫 just got to 1. Get through infertility. 2. Have a girl 😆
My older sister loves these kinda names for her kids so I clicked so fast 😍 they are trying for a new baby so she’s gonna need some ideas. She has a lily (Lillian) & Rosie (Rosalyn) & wants something a little more different but still related this time 🥰❤️ (she’s currently crushing on magnolia & calling her Nola)
We love the name Rhodes! It also means "where Roses grow"! My mother passed away 9 years ago and her name was Rose so it would be a beautiful tribute to her❤️
I’ve lived next to a moss for most of my life, apparently Mossy was quite popular here in Ireland back in the day for boys! I adore Moss, I definitely would consider it when I have babies one day 🥰
Viridis is an interesting choice to include... the “vid” in CoVid stands for viridae... sounds like plural form of Viridis. Fitting name for a Quaranteen baby? 🤔
I was recently walking through a graveyard and spotted a beautiful Vintage combo name... I'm currently obessed with!... Cora Belle.... Cora middle name Belle... Sounds like coralbelle I LOVE IT
My son is Wesley Hunter - Wesley means "West Meadow" He was Named after my Grandfather and I am so glad he has a nature name as he loves being outside. Now looking for a brother/sister name for baby due in October
I think a SPACE themed baby name list would be fun to see! I recently watched your video about twin names that are not super similar, but share some meaning. I saw you paired two names together that both mean "star". I think Luna (moon) and Stella (star) would also be a cute combination and both have a space/celestial theme!
pflugerlicious Astra, Nova, Ayla (meaning halo or moonlight) & Celestial would be other cute girl names... Orion, Halo & Galileo (Leo for short) are the only boy names I could think of
Ellie Coco there’s also Astin, Sterling, or Moon for a boy (UA-camr Mr. Kate named her son Moon). Some other girl names are Venus (like Venus Williams the tennis player), Jupiter, or Halley (like the comet).
I never thought I would see my name (or the English version of it) on here. My name is Mirthe which is the Dutch version of Myrtle. It's a very well known name in the Netherlands spelled in different ways like Mirthe, Mirte or Myrthe. Still very happy with the name my parents gave me but also love the English version of Myrtle.
I’m home from college in my small town of 300 people! It’s in a state park so surrounded by trees and lakes and animals. I think I’m in the best place in New York State for quarantine
Lovely names! With everything going on I feel that people may love names centred around mindfulness, stillness and being more zen/spiritual. Would you consider doing a baby names list on this kind of theme? 💓
No way! I was thinking about that just yesterday! Only I had triplets in mind: Erica, Heather, and Briar. This plant sure has inspired a lot of names! :)
Analiese here! Pronounced the way you said it :) I don't hear it often (outside of people referring to me, of course) and I love your channel so it's amazing to hear you talk about it
I thought I'd contribute two unusual girls names that I love. Dimity is a name that is known in Australia - it is a lightweight, sheer cotton cloth used for dresses in the 18th and 19th century but I also read in a vintage children's book that it was a colloquial term for dusk or twilight. Loveday is a traditional English name from the original AngloSaxon Leofdaeg (Love Day) which was a day for settling disputes. Apparently it was given to children born on that day. It is still mainly in use in Cornwall. I love that meaning but also simply its association with love and daylight. My two cents!
My sister had a little girl last Monday. She had to go to hospital herself given the circumstances. I am so proud her. She has named her Summer May ☀️ x
Being a Rosemary, u definitely don’t run into people with the same name much at all. Great list as per usual, always look forward to the Monday name vids. 💛🌟
I have always loved the name Sylvia which comes from the Latin word that means forest. And also think the name Ginger is so sweet, but I'm not sure if it's too out there for me or not.
I love Rhoda (roses), Rosemary (which is my Gran's name), Zélie (short for Azalea and really popular in France), Saffron (comes from the crocus flower), Erica (which would have been my mum's name) and Amaryllis (so beautiful and so many possible nicknames)
My 5yr old named our cat Rosemary! Love it! I clicked on this video to find a name for our future pets that go with Rosemary. I’m done with having babies but love names! There’s always furbabies to name. I added Huckleberry, and Rhodes to the list
20 years ago, my parents let me name my baby sister “Annalee”. I had a friend named “Annlea”, but could never pronounce it properly. So neat to know it’s a real name!!
I adore Berry that you mentioned as a nickname for Berisford. Roscoe is so strong and awesome! Ley meaning field/meadow, you could add it on they end of a lot of names to add the meaning 'field of', so you could have Daisley, Magnolie with lots of variations in spelling possible. Putting the sound 'aley' I think always makes names flow prettily e.g. you could make Myrtalea? I like Woodlea too!
You could make a list of names from fantasy novels, if you haven't already? This video made me think of Amaranthine (which has its origins from a plant family/a colour), one of the main characters of a fantasy book called "Of Fire and Stars" (the other main character in that book being called Dennaleia), and I just thought fantasy names in general could make a really cool baby name list!
I love Roscoe, and Bloom. Ardith and Analeigh I really like and have never heard of. Leigh means Meadow. Myrtle sounds pretty with your accent but jmnot so much in Texas...so idk of and when it would make a comeback but I have seen it coming up more.
Hello Sj!! I love your videos, though im nlt pregnant, nor naming a sim:) Meadow is gorgeous, and so are all the others! I was wondering if you could do maybe one of the following videos next: Updated Mythylogical names (Ariadne, Thaddeus, Caspian, Hector, Jacosta, Antigone, etc.) Spring inspired names (Orson, Auralia, Cria, Dawn, Fawn, Feyre, Feya, Aurora, etc.) Comforting sounding names (for this quarintine, like Comfort, Boo (means home, as you know), and Cosette, which can be shortemed to cozy) and futuristic sounding names (like Aerolynn, Saffia, and Caelix) Anyway, keep going!! You bring so much joy to mondays in these boring times!
New subscriber and loving the name videos! Need a name for baby #2. My daughter's name -Lillydale- was set and so unique and so meaningful to me personally. this new one is being more of a challenge so appreciate all the ideas!
So look forward to baby name Monday’s! Such gorgeous choices : ) Honestly I live in a flat in London and proper envious of people in the countryside especially as I’m very outdoorsy person who ended up in south London because of my boyfriend
So difficult to resist the urge as soon as this is over definitely taking a mini break to Cornwall or somewhere! Never taking it for granted ever again
I just started watching your videos and I subscribed because your videos are so calming and relaxing, and I love the interesting baby names. Thank you 🙏😊
My name, Ditte, is very difficult to pronounce in any other language, than its origin; Danish. But I love it !💗 Having a name that stands out is something you learn to appreciate with age. It is actually short or a nickname for Edith, but was made into an independant name in the last part of the 80's. My parents however, chose this because I was conceived in Cyprus; which is Aphrodite's island. Hence the Dite/Ditte. I think that's such a cute story☺ Long comment, but I've been watching your videos a lot lately, as I'm due with our baby girl in 3 weeks😍😍
My name is Charlotte Cicely and absolutely love how few people have my middle name! No one really knows of the flower Sweet Cicely but the name just makes me so happy :)
My husband and I have the name Aven on our list for a little girl. It is a type of flower- mountain aven flower. I taught a little girl with the name and fell in love. I’ve never seen it again but I love that it is a flower name that no one else would have.
We’re naming our little girl due in September Rosemary Lovi- and now I love it even more knowing that the meaning means remembrance because we wanted a named close to my grandmothers name Rosalie who has passed away and was such a wonderful loving woman. And Lovi is also a family name passed down! So it’s perfect!
I actually really like Tapio. One of few pretty Finnish names (that actually sound Finnish) My mother is called Ann(E)lie, I think (Ann(A)lie is a much more common. What do you think about the name Ronja? The meaning of the name is clarity and brightness. It's a Kurdish name, but if you ask your husband about "Ronja Rövardotter" (Ronja the Robber's daughter) he knows the name for sure. One of the most famous Swedish children's books by Astrid Lingren.
I love the name Roisin, Irish for little rose. Also thought of the name Viola as a flower name. In the Netherlands we also know the name Etienne, but pronounce it as a-chen (like Jackie Chen). You said a name with the meaning remembrance, which made me think of my own name Monique, which means to remember or memory.
I live in a valley on a 120 acre farm in the middle of nowhere and LOVE it. Not a city girl in the slightest. Super rare nature and country-living names are right up my alley. Elowen has been on my longlist for a decade. I hope it doesn’t get popular. I think you’ve made me fall in love with Merrivale, and even just Vale. Other “country-living” names on my longlists are things like.. Girls: Meadow, Sparrow, Airy, Aloe, Amethyst, Aqua, Autumn, Azure, Azurine, Bluebell, Briar, Calluna, Cherry, Ciel, Clover, Dixie, Dove, Filly, Fleurie, Flora, Faedan, Ginger, Glenna, Genessee, Haven, Honey, Juniper, Laken, Lavender, Mahogany, Maple, Marigold, May, Maybelle, Morning, Mulberry, Orchid, Petunia, River, Serene, Sky, Skyra, Sorrel, Spring, Starling, Strawberry, Summer, Sunshine, Tulip, Violet, Vixen, Willow, Windy Boys: Autry, Barley, Bear, Crockett, Cypress, Dunn, Dusty, Field, Forest, Fox, Heath, Hickory, Leaf, Memphis, Oak, Ranger, Ridge, Rye, Sawyer, Scout, Shepherd, Shiloh, Sorrel, Sycamore, Twain... You should see the entirety of my longlists. 😅
I think bloom is gorgeous. Something about it just flows so beautifully 🥰 thanks so much for the shout out! I adore your list. Good luck writing your articles
Myrtle sounds a little too much like turtle for me unfortunately. Wow, wow Thank you for introducing me to the name Viridis, I love it! I think I mentioned somewhere on here before how much I liked Moss as a name. I see it as a good boy's name in particular. Love love the name Rosemary. So classic but underused! Huckleberry makes me smile, my nephew's middle name is Huck :-)
Absolutely love Moss! We had a sheepdog named Moss, he had such a gentle soul. All our dogs get one syllable names, as it’s easier for working dogs to register the tone/sound of their name. Would actually consider this name for a future child!😊
My list! Elowyn Elisabeth Flora Mae Charlie Arthur Jamie Grace Theodore Lincoln I'm a) a child and b) cannot have children but it's nice to dream. I can always just use them for book characters :)
My middle name is Lori, meaning laurel tree or sweet bay tree, which are symbolic of honor and victory. From your list, I really like Moss and Elowen. I hadn't much thought about Woodrow before but I can see it on a cute little boy. Rosemary is pretty, though I prefer Rosalie.
Anyone else in the US hear a name, fall in love, say it (with an American accent), and get really sad that they don't sounds as good? It happens to me all the time!
Jannah Kinne
Pretty much with every name lol. And there are so many different American accents ... but none of them sound good 😂
Oh yes. Basil, Oscar, Graham. They sound so different and really lose something when I say it in my accent lol
yes Aurora
Jannah Kinne Carolina is such a beautiful name in spanish but just not as pretty with an american accent :(
Victoria Marie so so so true
I’d love a list of spanish names...helps me think of some warmth in this rainy weather!
Completely off topic, but my mum got a pet fish for her birthday and I was supposed to name it. I’ve never felt so important. So, her name is Florentina and she’s blue and living her best life😂🧚🏻♀️
ha ha ha! OMG what a name! I really want a pet now we're home all the time! xx
What about Quarantina😂
@adela ipser 😂 best comment 🐟
My cousin had a baby girl during lockdown and she's named Meadow Fern, so very nature inspired name!
The name we chose for my son that is due in July is Silvan. It's derived from Silvanus the Roman Deity of forests and fields. Would've been perfect for this list and is extremely uncommon.
Finally!! My name fits in one of the theme names!!!! TULIP is a really unique name and I'm so in love with it...My mom was the one who named me and I couldn't be more thankful❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
i was just looking up flower names for my sims
me too lol
I would love to hear some middle names I always have trouble finding the right middle name
Kaley Stiles
I think I might use middle names to honor family members. Like maybe a grandmother or grandfathers name as the middle name :)
We just welcomed our daughter Ellawyn into the world in February, which is kind of an alternative spelling for Elowen 🥰 Right now her nickname is Ella, but Wyn or Winnie could come in time too ♥️

Not for this genre of names. But my mom's name is Aloha. Which is weird as she is from missouri. But I have always loved her name.
My daughters name is Makayla and would love to name her sister Meadow

I'm also Scottish (and a Zelda fan! Hehe). I love Hamish for a good traditional Scottish name. Idk there's just something so sweet about it.
@@dammyjodger1 I love this :) Was very tempted to use "Saria" for a girl's name 😜.

Broadway names is a great idea! I'll have a think! thanks so much Roxy xx
I would love videos that are specific to certain ethnicities such as Italian, Spanish, and French names!
stellacel yes me too!!!
Moss is from The IT Crowd (his first name is actually Maurice, Moss is his last name that he goes by instead).
I love floral/nature names, but I haven't been able to find the right one to convince my husband on one!
I love the IT Crowd! I have so many favorite moments from that show.
I feel like Moss could even be a nickname for Maurice on its own
Ahhh that's it! Thank you ! xxx
“Have you tried turning it off and on again” 😆 my hubby’s a it guy and he always says this to me.

Oisin - the Irish boy's name, meaning 'little deer'' - I think the meaning is sooo sweet

Nola is wonderful!
Aw! My youngest’s name is Roselyn (pronounced like Rosa-Lynn) too! Such a beautiful name. 🥰
My gran’s name is Nola and I love it :)
Has she thought of marigold?
Waverly is my favorite girl nature related name. It means meadow of quivering aspens, but also doubly has the nickname Wave or Wavey.
We love the name Rhodes! It also means "where Roses grow"! My mother passed away 9 years ago and her name was Rose so it would be a beautiful tribute to her❤️
It would be a lovely tribute xxx
My husband and i love Florence (blooming) and Sylvie (lady of the forest) and i find all the names I'm drawn to remind me of childhood in nature
Kate Love love love Sylvie! So beautiful ☺️☺️☺️☺️
Yes me too, feel so nostalgic at the moment! xx
My daughters name is Florence Elowen Anne...
The middle of my five granddaughters (she is 5yo) is Sylvie and she absolutely adores animals, of the forest and otherwise.

Oh yes! I didn't even make the connection - maybe that's why it's gaining popularity! x
It actually stands for (co)rona (vi)rus (d)isease
Misha Coronaviridae is the classification of virus that CoVid-19 falls under then
How about Laurel? Akin to the laurel wreath crowns, sounds lovely and also part of the Vintage names trend too xx
I love Laurel - so gorgeous and laurel crown theme for life as well xx
Laurel only reminds me of “Yanny” now! That silly video! 😂
My niece is named Cataleya, after the orchid. My sister heard it in the movie Colombiana and fell in love with it.
I have a violet and an ivy 🥰
Hayley Freeman oh I love them. Ivy is a personal fave of mine 💛

A full list of Cornish names would be nice x
Elowen is my best friends name😍

I love Roscoe, and Bloom. Ardith and Analeigh I really like and have never heard of. Leigh means Meadow. Myrtle sounds pretty with your accent but jmnot so much in Texas...so idk of and when it would make a comeback but I have seen it coming up more.
Thanks for the follow-up with my comment about Bloom for a boy!
My daughters middle name is Ellowyn! And her first name is a flower 😂❤️ Zinnia Ellowyn
Hello Sj!! I love your videos, though im nlt pregnant, nor naming a sim:) Meadow is gorgeous, and so are all the others! I was wondering if you could do maybe one of the following videos next: Updated Mythylogical names (Ariadne, Thaddeus, Caspian, Hector, Jacosta, Antigone, etc.) Spring inspired names (Orson, Auralia, Cria, Dawn, Fawn, Feyre, Feya, Aurora, etc.) Comforting sounding names (for this quarintine, like Comfort, Boo (means home, as you know), and Cosette, which can be shortemed to cozy) and futuristic sounding names (like Aerolynn, Saffia, and Caelix)
Anyway, keep going!!
Such gorgeous choices : )
Honestly I live in a flat in London and proper envious of people in the countryside especially as I’m very outdoorsy person who ended up in south London because of my boyfriend
I know! It's so hard not being able to walk out into nature right now! We miss it so much x
But I love it !💗
Having a name that stands out is something you learn to appreciate with age.
It is actually short or a nickname for Edith, but was made into an independant name in the last part of the 80's.
My parents however, chose this because I was conceived in Cyprus; which is Aphrodite's island. Hence the Dite/Ditte.
I think that's such a cute story☺
Long comment, but I've been watching your videos a lot lately, as I'm due with our baby girl in 3 weeks😍😍
We have such similar styles! Bloom is definitely my fav ❤️ Pippa Bloom is my all time fav (I just want a baby alreadyyyyyyy)
omg lockdown is making me broody! ha ha! Pippa Bloom is amazing xxx
My grandma's middle name was Maybelle, which means lovable.
Gorgeous x
My name is Charlotte Cicely and absolutely love how few people have my middle name! No one really knows of the flower Sweet Cicely but the name just makes me so happy :)
Seriously considering Roscoe for my son!! Might nickname him Ross or Rozzie..
That's rly cute!
Love Roscoe, you should use it!!!!
I am a huge fan of the old show The Wonder Years and have always wanted to name a little girl Elowen with the nn Winnie 😩😍😍
Yes I remember that show so much! I might need to see if it's available! x
Micah Lehman my daughters name is Winnifred and we call her Winnie 💖
Why don't you name the kid what you want to call her? Giving her one name and intending to call her by another is lame.
it’s a nickname...
My sister is Kalina, which is pronounced similar to your Evelina. It is polish name for viburnum plant.
the colour of your jumper is so pretty 💜
My husband and I have the name Aven on our list for a little girl. It is a type of flower- mountain aven flower. I taught a little girl with the name and fell in love. I’ve never seen it again but I love that it is a flower name that no one else would have.
My niece is named Rosemary. Secondly l don't know about Big Bang Theory, but there was a Moss in the I.T Crowd show. .
I think this is my favorite baby name list yet!
I almost called my daughter Elowen... However i decided it was too popular and Named her Winnie Juniper Jade instead.
Juniper is pretty!
I live in the Fraser Valley and a family I work with has 2 kids named Meadow and Fraser
Don’t know if you done this list yet or not but if you haven’t please do mythology names!!! Names like Orion, Gaia or Ajax are so stunning
Wow it's so so perfect Sasha! What a gorgeous name and do let us know when she arrives xxx
My name is Rosalie... My grandma was Violet Rosalie, but went by her middle name... Which is mine ❤ love your name idea
I love the name Zinnia for a girl. Beautiful flower and name xx
I told her the name Rhodes!!! It also means “where the roses grow”
I love the name! xx
Girls:
Meadow, Sparrow, Airy, Aloe, Amethyst, Aqua, Autumn, Azure, Azurine, Bluebell, Briar, Calluna, Cherry, Ciel, Clover, Dixie, Dove, Filly, Fleurie, Flora, Faedan, Ginger, Glenna, Genessee, Haven, Honey, Juniper, Laken, Lavender, Mahogany, Maple, Marigold, May, Maybelle, Morning, Mulberry, Orchid, Petunia, River, Serene, Sky, Skyra, Sorrel, Spring, Starling, Strawberry, Summer, Sunshine, Tulip, Violet, Vixen, Willow, Windy
Boys:
Autry, Barley, Bear, Crockett, Cypress, Dunn, Dusty, Field, Forest, Fox, Heath, Hickory, Leaf, Memphis, Oak, Ranger, Ridge, Rye, Sawyer, Scout, Shepherd, Shiloh, Sorrel, Sycamore, Twain...
You should see the entirety of my longlists. 😅
I think bloom is gorgeous. Something about it just flows so beautifully 🥰 thanks so much for the shout out! I adore your list. Good luck writing your articles
Moss is from the IT crowd. Love your baby name videos 😊
My daughter is Rosalina Arwen Marie
Absolutely love Moss! We had a sheepdog named Moss, he had such a gentle soul. All our dogs get one syllable names, as it’s easier for working dogs to register the tone/sound of their name. Would actually consider this name for a future child!😊
Wow that's interesting to know, my sister told me that when she got her dog - he's called Bear! x
SJ Strum Bear is such a good name, will need to add it to our list of dog names! 💕
This list has such stunning names oh my gosh this is definitely pt2 worthy😍
My list!
Elowyn Elisabeth
Flora Mae
Charlie Arthur
Jamie Grace
Theodore Lincoln
I'm a) a child and b) cannot have children but it's nice to dream.
Get way to excited about hearing my daughters name (Elowyn) in list haha
Also love Myrtle 😍
