Thank you L35 in Colorado. What an excellent and helpful tutorial! I wish I had watched this first, because I did naively pull the hose from the bottom the intake manifold. Big mistake! Now I have another (used) intake manifold with an intact hose, to replace my intake manifold. Not an easy job at all. Wish me luck and send me good advice. I have a 2001 E320 4Matic wagon. After 24 years (when new, this car was delivered in June of 2000), all the vacuum hoses are useless, frayed, cracked and with gaping holes, including the one to the bottom of the manifold. So there effectively was no vacuum at all!

Wow, I'm trying to keep an old '04 C240 wagon alive and the hose nipple locations for both the changeover valve and the MAP sensor were eluding me big time on Google, long drive back from the east coast to Houston and had both of the lines develop leaks, Your vid was perfect, part numbers, pauses to point out locations of things, part numbers for even mundane things like vacuum line, who knew it was 3.5mm ID I already had 4MM ID and 3MM ID hose in the amazon cart because I had to guess from the old, I would have guessed wrong.

@@L35inColorado Good morning L35. I need your advice please. I own a 2004 ML500 that hasn't been started in 6 years. I want to start using it. I don't want to just charge the battery and turn the key. I want to lubricate the bearings first. I know I can't prime the oil pump manually so I thought I should change the oil and filter but also overfill the oil by double or more. Than I could turn the car over by hand a few times; then drain the excess oil and wait a day and then start the car. Perhaps there is some access like the oil filter housing unit or the oil expansion plug that I could remove and observe the oil level with my borescope? I was thinking about removing the oil pan and squirting oil but that actually could end up being a more time intensive job than I have time for at the moment. Many thanks for any thoughts you can offer. Steve M.

I replaced just about everything except for that specific part lol .

I jusy ordered those vacuum hoes from mercedes, it was cheaper than online. Im having a little bit of engine shaking, i fixed the valve covers since they where leaking, then changed crankshaft position sensor, maf sensor... Cleaned the camshaft position sensor but looks like i need to chage it, and Map sensor looks original from 2004 so might change that one too.... I hope that fixes the shaking.... I have brand new motor and trans mounts so its not those.... Wish i had your patience to be able to film and explain Hahaha, keep it up!

Always love your vids! Super well explained and shown.
So glad i came across this vid, as not that long ago i replaced my map sensor (W211 E500) and the hose behind it was pretty well rotted at the end and all stretched out.. I was aware prior about that other scary vacuum hose, the one you mentioned not to touch. Yup thats the nightmare one if it dislodges or leaks where it goes into intake manifold. Massive scary job to fix something so stupid. Love my Benz but some ideas Mercedes came up with are absolutley horrid. Biodegradable wire insulation being one of them 😬🤬.
Well i was so worried when i spliced in a small section of hose for the map nipple thinking maybe it was the same hose as the nightmare one. Praying it wasnt dry rotted alway back. Had me worried. Much relieved now seeing your vid. Now I'll go back in and just replace the entire map hose and secondary air pump switchover solenoid hose too.
Thanx again for the great vid

Thanks for the video. I got an engine light this weekend with the code B28 implausible. I can’t find anything that is pointing out the code. MAP sensor? Hoses? The problem? I do live in Panama. If I would go to the only Mercedes dealer in Panama, they just tell me that they don’t have parts for my 2003 E240 and I should buy a new car! So I always have to order parts online. And what happens? Right. The E240 wasn’t sold in the US market. When I order online, they ask for the VIN #. And what do I get? Right. “This parts don’t fit. We don’t have the 211.061 model in the USA. When I point to the C240 (for engine maintenance parts) I get again: “They don’t fit…” It’s easier to order in China! 😂 Just forgot: My 2003 Mercedes E240 has originally 82,600km / 51,000 miles on it. Bought it 5 years ago with original 37,000 km / 23,000 miles. - Update. I just got yesterday my new map sensor. This morning, I was working on my Mercedes E240. I unscrewed the sensor. The air supply fan. Tried to get the hose of the sensor. No problem. But something didn’t feel right. Took my cloves off. Pulled on the vacuum hose. And the hose did got longer & longer until she snapped. Had a piece between my fingers. The rubber hose did feel like play-dough! Pulled on the 2nd hose right beside and had the same issue. Pulled and this hose just felt out. The end was totally closed. This was my fault code “P28 implausible” . Bought new rubber hose. Installed both new and no code anymore. - Thank you again for the video.

If you mean the two components connected by the hose shown at 21:17, they are check valves for the air injection system: MB calls them "air injection combination valves", but I think most people just call them "air pump check valves". : )
