Nice run and congratulations on another top 5. You’ve really been racking them up. Good work! Other than the incidents (which I don’t think were your fault), I think your driving has improved quite a bit. You didn’t overturn the wheel and plow through any massive understeer and your braking is more consistent and rotation is getting better…. Def improving. After that first incident, I seen u get loose, which u saved… but just before it stepped out, I was thinking u were driving pretty fast after the off track. Just like in the beginning of a race and the tires r cold… after a spin, try to keep in mind the tires will be either hot or have picked up debris, so they’ll be a little slippery until the cool down or clean off, which usually takes about a qtr/half a lap depending… and I’ve learned the hard way lol that it’s an exponential process, so unless u let them cool down, u’ll keep sliding, which heats them up more and more, until the car is completely uncontrollable. That incident in T1 was unfortunate… he should’ve conceded that position. I felt u had him, so I don’t think that was your fault. It should’ve been avoidable but some ppl just don’t like giving it up and checking up. Btw, ur absolutely right about DaveCam. I’ve watched a lot of his stuff and his driving is great and he’s created a very entertaining channel. I’ve picked up quite a bit of tips from his track guides and just watching him. Anyways, congrats again!

      Ya, the license system goes…
As long as u complete 4 races or time trials in your current class and have over a 3.0 SR, u get a promotion to the next license at the end of the season. If your SR is below 2.0, u get a demotion at season end. However, if you’ve done at least your 4 races or TT and get your SR above 4.0, u get an insta promotion and don’t have to wait until the end of the season… but if your SR dips below 1.0 at any time, it’s an insta demotion.

Thanks buddy, yeah a few questionable moments but all in a good drive and recovery and I’m over 2.0 IRacing so should be safe, just the formula IRating to bring up now. Yeah I keep forgetting that dirty and too hot tyres result in sliding I keep saying it’s cause they are cold but that’s not the case lol. Dave is a phenomenal driver I watch him as often as I can.

I’ve found that racing in the advanced MX-5 league is good for recovering irating/safety rating, you already know the car well from racing in the rookies and the racing is so much cleaner than in the rookie league, much less chance of incidents. Only thing is you’ll need to get to C license class

I’d be happy to get out of d license lol. Think I may have to spend a bit of time on it. I also need to get my formula rating up as well I think I have about 2 weeks to do it lol.

@@helloharry you’ll get there mate you’re definitely making improvements and it shows in your racing, the more you race the more you’ll learn and the more confident you’ll be on the absolute limits of what the car can achieve. Keep at it man 👍

So your hands look a LOT better than prior races, really good work on that, improving massively there. You still have a slight tendency to grab more steering lock than required on exits where you detect understeer. Remember, the answer to understeer is actually LESS steering input. You looked a lot better with this here, but I will reiterate it just to keep it in the memory.
one thing im noticing is that you seem a bit afraid to get the rear moving around. Part of it seems like you're not trail braking enough, in fact i'd say most of it is that. So you're overslowing a bit, and then the rear wants to come around on exit in a way you don't like. Focus on making sure that car rotates earlier. Basically the car should feel almost like it should be spinning at the mid corner. (in fact, most corners you should be able to make the car spin if you wanted to) The car with more brake and less steering lock will begin to oversteer, this is when you're supposed to trail off the brakes and add more steering lock. When you get on throttle, release that steering lock to give the front tires some help getting through. The absolute best on board to watch for this is Max Verstappen's endurance event stints. The man is insane and you can visually see what i mean about the inputs he makes
Its all in the weight transfer. pressing the brakes gives you more grip at the front and less at the rear, inversely, hitting the throttle shifts the weight rearward, and gives more grip to the rear. Steering inputs affect the total amount of grip you have, meaning the more youre braking the less you can steer before sliding, the same goes with throttle.
I recommend trying some dirt oval on your free time, its all about controlling the rear of the car, and will make your throttle inputs better by nature.
The car will slide across the track a bit when you're close to the limit of grip, and it becomes more of a balancing act. Its a lot like dancing actually. Don't be afraid to dance with the car.

@thepaisleyproject good advice! Yes controlling trading throttle oversteer and watch MAX for sure!!! Heck he invented a new way to pass someone going into a turn!!

You are 100% correct I am scared to lose the car through the corner. I do feel I’m getting better but I can feel my self holding back with it lol. I will have to check out Verstappens stints to see what I should be doing. I really appreciate the breakdown buddy as I’ve kind of been wondering if it’s right or wrong what I’m doing so far. I’m going to have to start paying for all this advice soon lol 😂

@@Jack96993 admittedly Max is probably the cause of the recent loss of respect, not just in sim racing, but in racing as a whole. I wouldn't try and replicate his passing on iRacing, it'll lead to wrecks because people youre racing against are not usually F1 drivers, lol.

i love max the sim racer for certain things, as an f1 driver im on the fence. i didnt like him then he seemed to of grown up then he started losing again and was crying about it and also getting upset over his questionable overtakes and defending lol. ill just take the good bits from him lol

It's so hard to maintain your safety/iRating in rookies, especially in the Miata I went from 1300 iRating to less than 1,000 in a heartbeat 😅
