So good to see videos featuring sims from back in my day. The best league I ever raced in was the Fast Food Racing League. Being lapped by Greger was an honour.
I'm also from Brazil... iRacing's pricing and monetization still really inaccessible around here.. same thing for any sim racing gear to be honest! and it was even worst in those early years! it is really cool and inspiring to see this history! great job Hugo! also great video as always =D
Feels like it was so long ago now. This was such a fun period of simracing to be a part of, good memories. You saying Greger would have won the last two races of 2010 had he shown up... I have to agree :D Lucky for me he didn't.
@@DJYeeJay I doubt I would have haha. But actually we had our shot before, during the Indy race. Greger was travelling at the time doing the whole "World's fastest alien" challenge and was using a loaner equipment in the US and was obviously not up to his usual pace. Towler got the controversial pole position as they discovered you could cut the last corner by taking the pitroad so I lost out in qualifying. Race could have been close without that 😄 But yeah, Greger was untouchable in 2010 which made 2011 all the more exciting.
I was starting in sim racing and Hugo's achievement was incredible. And years later I was able to work with him on broadcasts here in Brazil. Great guy!
Hearing Live for speed mentioned in the background while chucking the bmw m4 gt3 mod at westhill international on Live for speed was super surreal. You love to see LFS getting name dropped!
I dont think people nowadays realize how important this game was. It felt so natural and real compared to all the big sims. It still feels great today and VR loks inceredible for such an old game.
