Senator 3211 It really is mad how things change, I got a HTC Sensation back in 2011 or something and it was 4.3inches...people commented on it's size saying it was too big since everyone has Iphone 3GS/4 back then but even the HTC feels small in my hand
This phone reminds of one of the best times in my life. Yeah, I loved it also the WhatsApp with that 'by the time' huge keyboard. Now everything has changed. Phones are better but life is shitier.
I had the storm 1 and got rid of it after my contact was up. I was sick of doing battery pulls to speed it up, and one of the emojis was incorrect. It was never fixed in any of the updates. I figured if they can't even fix that I'm done. Went to Android.
Great comparison, one thing I would say that happens in a few of you videos is that you don't turn off the auto-dim on your devices. This looks slightly unprofessional and if you change it your videos will look a lot more polished.
I still have my old Storm-1 stored away with the rest of my old cell-phones. I can remember thinking how cool this device was back when it came out. Today I can't believe I ever bought one. That goofy-ass floating screen and NO WiFi... what was I thinking? Oh well... live and learn. My Storm-1 is still in perfect condition but will undoubtedly forever remain stored away :>\
@@danielk6840 I made damn sure my next phone had WiFi. It was a shitty thing to do to leave out this feature when every other device included it. RIM knew exactly what they were doing and it ended up backfiring on them.
Storm 2 was a great improvement over the Storm 1, too bad the latter already destroyed that models reputation. BTW, you do know that in the settings it was possible to change the keyboard so that the key your finger is on, would pop up above it, like on the iPhone or Samsung phone, right? Also, predictive typing is one of the first things I turn off.
i wonder if all these test are done with the wireless network on storm 1 is set to 1xEV and NOT Global. For some reason "Global" is slower and set as default.
which one is better the blackberry bold , the tour , the curve or the storm 2 and which one is the newest ? please answer thanks or shoul i get a droid or iphone ?
watched this video hoping to decipher whether it's worth the 1 month extra wait before Storm 2 is officially released on Vodafone Australia. Tried out Storm 1 in store and typing was horrendous compared to iphone. Still don't know whether to wait and check out the new typing on Storm 2..
Jon, the 3G v. 1XEV is an Operating System change, not a Storm2 v. Storm1. Leaked versions of 5.0 OS for the Storm1 (prior to the official that was just recently pushed by Verizon) had 3G(bb) logos in them.
Carl Br Same here. I had the storm 1 back in the day... I have a iPhone 7+ now but I just randomly decided I want one of these as a prepaid phone.. just remember the storm being one of my all time favorites.. that and the Motorola razor
You say the Storm 1 Doesnt show the 3G with the blackberry logo and instead uses the traditional 1XEV ..... Your so wrong there. Im looking at my BB Storm 1 and it is showing the 3G with BB logo.. It might only be like that in the states though.
one was made for canada and europe (9520) and the other was for verizon wireless (9550) they both have the same radios though so if you wanted either for use on tmobile or att or something either one will work after you get them unlocked.
my storm 1 at first it was like the seesaw thing but i got another because my headphone jack stopped working but longstory short it feels like it clicks all over (without modifications)
@choudu1234 if you dont have wifi its a Storm 1, and storm 1's csreen is moving realy annoying, can be get dust under the csreen, and the under 4 buttons are seperate from the screen, these are the nail reasons)))
tbh this video could of been 30seconds long, him holding the two phones and going "yeah the storm two takes a giant dump on the first one, its a no brainer." and it fades out
The tilt test was kind of biased. The storm 1 was tilted more and loaded faster going to the side, but when straightening, the storm 1 was still tilted.
@WoWmista I agree. I really really love the Storm aswell. I learned it like the back of my hand, and if my Balckberry can do it, I know it can. But it's SO slow. Sometimes the lock button doesn't work due to a bug in the system. Sometimes it will restart at whatever time. You'll be in the middle of a text and it just restarts. and its a damn long restart time. It's just been such a bad experience and i feel like I bought the Phone during its testing process. the storm 2 better perform well. :)
I don't see wat the big deal is. Maybe I just need to use the Storm 2. I've never had any major issues with my storm 1 or anything. The 5.0 software update has made it even better. Plus I have paper under my battery which makes the typing even better. Idk maybe I'm just lucky.
Nope not at all. At 303-363 views it freezes so they can filter out the fake views which takes a few hours. Before 303 it's not frozen which is when I commented..
i hated the BlackBerry Storm 1, when ever i had the phone in my front pocket and i bent over to tie my shoes or something, the phone would unlock in my pocket because of that dam top left corner lock button
email and text and calling is the best on blackberry but yes i have noticed dust under the screen but verizon screwed me over cause i tried to pick the screen up and clean the screen well its glued to the base or whatever so i can't clean it =[
I forgot the exact breakdown of the costs, but I have unlimited data coupled with 450 minutes (lowest amount of minutes), and my bills run me around $100 every month. There's no way of getting passed high costs when you have Verizon, everything costs money, especially the Blackberry. But it's a good phone, I've had mine since December, 2008, the first generation that is.
Anyone else remember these seeming huge?
yes i was thinking the same thing now. now iphone 4 3.5inch seems very small but i remember when this BB 3.15inch was huuuge :))
Senator 3211 It really is mad how things change, I got a HTC Sensation back in 2011 or something and it was 4.3inches...people commented on it's size saying it was too big since everyone has Iphone 3GS/4 back then but even the HTC feels small in my hand
+S Miller yeees right, things have changed drasticaly, now 4,5 inch is small, whats next? im really scared whats gonna happen in years
I remember my son telling me how overly huge my Storm was. He forgot all about it after seeing the Samsung MEGA that replaced it...
Never thought it was huge then or now. I do remember appreciating the screen size compared to other cell phones but it was very pocketable
I remember watching this channel 8 years ago.
I still miss that clicky screen!
This phone reminds of one of the best times in my life. Yeah, I loved it also the WhatsApp with that 'by the time' huge keyboard. Now everything has changed. Phones are better but life is shitier.
I liked that, too. I thought it to be a good idea for someone who is used to a physical keyboard and now uses a touch screen.

I actually think the text impute on the Storm 1 is good. The Storm 2 seems to be an improvment, although not evident through your demonstration.
One Question the storm 2 USE GSM network like the BB Storm 1 ?
Blackberry storm 2 was such a beautiful phone for its time.
Blackberry had Force Touch back in 2008

Has it got a full qwerty keyboard like the blackberry bold?
Do you still have to "click" the screen on the storm 2
The first time using a storm 1 it blew my simple mind. Back then all I owned was a trac phone.
where can i get a blackberry strom 2 at ?
@DarkHalmut Thanks man. is the internet fast ? does it have good battery life ?

@DarkHalmut is the storm 2 a good phone to get ?
@wesTbruce it was only 180 the most in a verizon store. not 500 dollars
i don't think when you did the two together (tilting them) it was very accurate... as the one on the bottom will have rotated before the one on top :/
oooooohhhh the memories!!!! :(
Hows typing on this? Versus a physical keyboard
