Sarah the label "ACHTUNG! Bei allen Pruef- und Einstellarbeiten Motor-Kennbuchstaben *AMU 018 721* beachten!" means "WARNING! During all test and adjustment work, observe motor identification code AMU 018 721" (meaning when checking or adjusting, use data for that motor id code). It doesn't mean anything to do with an Allen bolts (which are 'Inbus' or 'Innensechskant' in German). You're doing an amazing job, THANK YOU Sarah for such a great channel and the frequent uploads! All the best, Rob
i dont mean to be offtopic but does any of you know a method to get back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb forgot the password. I love any tips you can offer me
@Dalton Jameson thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and Im in the hacking process atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Nice to see you doing this stuff and knowing what you're talking about. Sense of humour makes the vids more enjoyable as well...keep up the fun in the garage!
You're making great progress, Sarah. Your patience and tenacity are very admirable! I was going to send a suggestion on how to press bushings, after seeing your Instagram post, but saw that someone else had already done that. It will be interesting to see that video and exactly how you got all of the bushings done. I appreciate your inclusion of nature events in your videos. It adds to the entertainment value and is heartwarming to see your love of animals. Keep up the great work.
Is great that you show your re workings, we all have to learn and your tenacity is awesome, especially in the face of less supportive comments. Thanks.
Watching some of your old content and saw the spot free episode. What works best for me (and cheaper than deionizing filtration media) is filling a 2 gallon garden sprayer with my under-sink RO system. I wash the top surfaces, hit it with the RO, then alternating sides, always finishing with the RO. I don't even have to dry my wheels anymore and they still don't have water spots on the chrome. Once I move the system into the garage, I'll just use a long tube to rinse directly from the pressure tank.
just found this channel and burned through about a dozen videos real quick! Loving the episodes related to the Audi though. I've been pulling my hair out working on my mini that has been the same kinda nightmare to work on. Being able to relate to Sarah's frustrations has made her videos very entertaining to watch for me. I'm looking forward to catching up on everything else I've missed on this channel as well as any future videos to come. Thanks Sarah!
I’m in the process of getting a used TT 8n and your videos are giving me confidence to start learning to rebuild some aspects of the car myself. Thank you.
nice seeing you work on that tt again. i own a 04 tt with the V6 engine. Its an absolute joy to ride and a real fun car and to be honest you dont need lambos and other expensive cars on this channel to make it interesting. your very nice exterior and cheecky personality is always there for us viewers. You are such a good mechanic!
Sarah, You have done so much to make tatter-tot (sp?) such a nice car especially from when little Sarah and you did the road trip back from SLC. I think you were smart in diagnosing all the electrical gremlins first as well as tackling the Haldex system woes. You motivate and inspire a lot of people with your determination through each of the project cars. I am truly empathetic when you experience these things that slow your progress but even at the worst of times you regroup and come back to knock it out. Keep up the great content with real issues, quality work, tremendous attention to detail, and three nice cars to show for it. Truthfully, most of the widebody fill-in-the-blank builds are not very good quality or it seems they are learning as they go (which I say good for them) but I see them as just click-bait. You're the real deal and that is why I like watching you work.
Fantastic video! Love your patience and attention to detail. What i have done in the past for heavy items or needing the third arm is to use things like rope, bungies, or come-a-longs to provide some lift or, at least, get the part approximately in place. It sometimes even works!
Damn. It's weeks later and I am STILL stunned at how damn NICE your seafoam green brake calipers turned out. I'll be honest, I was a Doubting Thomas when I saw you weren't going to spray them....I can't believe how far out of the park you knocked that one! GREAT JOB!!!!
I bought my 2006 STI in 2011 from Salt Lake City. Same thing... the body was fine with some minor easy to fix surface rust on the bottom of the rad support, but the cad plating on the bolts had been eaten away. I bead blasted all the hardware and had it all replated.
Something I do regarding heavy parts is to use bungee cords to offset the weight, so I use less energy and save it for the actual work and save on busted fingers.
Awesome watching you do work! If you're worried about the NPT plug coming loose, strike the edge of the thread with a punch. Otherwise that tread-locker will bake out.
the puns and diminuendos we strong in this one! Great fun and you did put in the work and congrats on getting so much done, looking forward to see the next steps.
Nice work Sarah... one hint, that loctite 271 won't do much on the plug, as the turbo housing gets well over the release temp of 271. Resbond would be what you need there.
aftermarket exhaust manifold has different dimensions because it isnt OEM. So minor clearancing the exterior is allowed . once it is in service for about 3 hours of run time it will has the same rust patina as the rest of the part.
Nordlock washers are great for ensuring nothing backs off, needs to overcome the internal wedge, but, the serrated faces do require a higher tightening torque for equivalent clamping pressure, 10-20ish percent. While you still have easy access, retorque those manifold to turbo bolts to around 60NM.
You are an inspiration to this guy, because you have such fortitude to continue when things are tough ! I like the way you clean ever thing before and while you work on it. You are pretty awesome to do the work that you do with the sense of humor you have . I guess youth has a little to do with it !
For what it's worth, I like this channel precisely because you don't have a "super big budget," you don't act like a trust fund baby, and you aren't trying to do janky builds/restorations on wrecked Lambos that wind up never even getting driven hard or shakedown tested (really, what's the point then). This channel, LegitStreetCars, Jake Spence, and of course Cleetus are great because your love and earnestness for what you're doing and the projects you work on really comes across in your vids.
Jae A super big budget would just mean better standard of living and a retirement for me, I’ll always have a passion for normal cars first and foremost.
Well it is Tuesday a year or so later where I am watching this tech tip Tuesday. And I will watch vlog types, project types or reviews. I would listen to you reading ATC radio commands, I love your voice so much.
U are changing my sense of humor Sarah. And that shot of you in the wheel well with your back to us looked like you were, well you know. Keep it up she said!!!
I loved the focus on cleanliness and the time lapse view of the car coming apart. Dollar Tree Store sometimes has some great cleaning products from Totally Awesome for only $1
What can I say? The mostest awesomest youtube channel hosted by the mostest biggest brownest eyes in the world. You have either the best editing skills, or the most patience of anyone I have ever seen work on cars.
i think its safe to say that it dont matter if its a lamborgenie or a bicycle your working on, we are here because if you. your dedication, work ethic, commentary, puns, or inuendos however thats spelled. and ur creepy crawlers. keep it up! dont get discouraged
I always love watching you work on your cars and explaining everything, I do learn a lot as well. Keep making the great videos and we are so happy for your success on your YT channel!!
German VW-Audi mechanic here - the timingbeltcover says "Caution while doing maintenance and adjustments" next line tells you to mind the "engine type", basicaly the model number of your engine.
Check out a used Panoz Esperante, that would make a really cool really rare project car. Also have you ever thought of a kit car? DDR Motorsport or Superlite cars make some very unique vehicles you can build.
I somehow caught your vids and really enjoy them so I subscribed. I love women who know there way around a car and a wrench! You remind me of an old friend that did her own body work! I do have to ask how in the work you keep your garage and self so clean working on these old cars. My best cars and trucks still get me and the floor covered in grease and dirt! By the way, shoot your hard to reach bolts with PB Blaster and use the "grabboid" to hold the top of the bolt and use it to run a couple of threads in the hole and then you can use your extended Allen keys.
The sticker on the timing cover says: "For all check- and adjustment-tasks take note of the engine code ...!" 11:02 The sticker looks exactly the same as on my Audi 80/90 b4 except for the Engine code of course.
I had to bug bomb my garage (several times, and will do it a few more times before winter sets in).... Great to see another rench turner getting deeper and deeper into their build (seems one thing leads to another, and when waiting on parts, why not start on something else? :) ).. Great series, keep up the good work, I know it can be a grind, but there's a lot of us out here that enjoy supporting you.. FOD walk at 0500
Straight up, I like your channel because its not about rebuilding supercars. These are projects I would like to do, they are projects I could do, if I had the funds and space. Keep up the good work :-)
Sarah, you are such an outstanding person. You would make the perfect auto mechanic teacher/instructor. Most of those dufuses get a tone in their voice like, your an imbecil if you dont learn right away. You would never do that due to your kind nature.
Hi Sarah, this is a phenomenal channel, so keep it up! If you get moments when things get tough with Teeter Tot, just think of Mr Dos, there is your inspiration! Just brilliant!!!
Dont worry my audi beats me up too! ive got a 00 TT and the inspiration for removing my rear seats. I've been having issues with my coil pack wiring unfortunately. But I always enjoy watching your videos
Great job Sarah! I really like that entrance from your pita sandwich. I guess you could call it a sandwich? And you're exotic birds that you have it's called a Covey of quail. And they taste real good too, yum!
Good progress as that's a lot work, and well done for working out how to refit turbski with only one pair of hands. Luv the commentary does make me laugh.
I'm new to your channel Sarah and i love your personality, quirkiness and skill at what you get up to with the cars :) Congrats on your channel and hope to see a lot more of your great projects :) Love from Australia 🇦🇺 :)
Sure are going through the hoops as usual to get it done for us. Don’t listen to the haters! You’re doing it the right way and that takes time with no help! It’s been this way since the old days! You still find ways to bring fun into it! Yah, yah! Get at it gal!
Amazing persistence working on the "nightmare zone" of the engine bay, I hated working around there on my Golf, keep it up! And that mantis was super cool! Thanks for the great video! 🦗
Ideas for an amazing car, weird stuff ? 9:10 . Find a Lotus Elise, put a Subaru boxer powerplant in it. The already low riding car gets even more stable due to lower center of gravity for boxer engines. With unequal length headers, the exhaust sound gonna be amazing for a Lotus.
"Wild project cars"??!! Please, nothing wilder than that mish-mash of a '91-'93 naturally aspirated/turbocharged "Mr. Dos". That one's enough to keep me going for a very long time. That was more than fun! Right now you're convincing me to never try to work on a German car. Any more ideas for Forester Gump? I'd love to see you working on a Subaru again. It's too bad they (mostly) don't do turbos anymore.
Haha stumbled on your videos and you are damn entertaining. Also I love how clean and organized your garage is and I think I need to get myself a set of quick lifts too to work on my 2011 Sti.
So talented and focused you are. I could sure use your expertise and motivation on my 1968 McQueen fastback. Out of paint and ready for the beans ;) Let me know if you do road trips the great white north? Cheers

I'm glad you are not a hairdresser, the world needs more Sara-n-Tuned
i dont mean to be offtopic but does any of you know a method to get back into an Instagram account??

@Uriel Drake Instablaster ;)
@Dalton Jameson thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and Im in the hacking process atm.

@Dalton Jameson It worked and I now got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thank you so much you saved my ass !
@Uriel Drake Happy to help :)
Nice to see you doing this stuff and knowing what you're talking about. Sense of humour makes the vids more enjoyable as well...keep up the fun in the garage!
Your instincts for making your videos entertaining are spot on. Keep doing what you're doing.

For all your improvisation and patience you should get the golden gasket 🏅🏆😉

I worked on Audi for 8 1/2 years and don't miss them, I am thoroughly enjoying your videos lots of fun!!

Sarah's shirt says M=mi-engine and R=Rear wheel drive, though the MR2 is actually midship runabout 2 seater (That part was right)
You are a true super mechanic and I wish I had half of your skills and patience. Anyone working on cars with those nails gotta have some talent.
the puns and diminuendos we strong in this one! Great fun and you did put in the work and congrats on getting so much done, looking forward to see the next steps.

That Victory dance!
Such happy Sarah is rarely seen.
14:25 i Freaked out and my Brain went to a Really Nice Place, I Know what you Did there Sarah. Awesome Content Keep it up You're Killing IT.
Glad I wasn't the only one...
10:51 the Sticker on the Timing Cover just Said : If you Check or adjust the Belt, you have to do it like the Manual said 😉

I’d rather see Sarah get the money for retirement then to see it out into expensive cars.
I find myself binge-watching old episodes when there are no new uploads - damn, you are addictive, Sarah...
I've never enjoyed watching someone else work on cars in my life, this is just wonderful.
What a great example of being resourceful and creative

I love how you clean everything really well, I’m the same way I hate anything dirty
Sarah, you deserve to be on the DIY Network channel! You would CRUSH IT! :D
Thank you very much for another awesome video. I really appreciate the effort you make to provide such great content!
Thanks a lot again!
I always love watching you work on your cars and explaining everything, I do learn a lot as well. Keep making the great videos and we are so happy for your success on your YT channel!!

I'm literally binge watching all of your videos, i cant get enough! its took 4 days and I'm catching up
Me too 👾
The cleaning parts are my favorite! Hope to find a TT as clean as this!
Love watching you Sarah with you innuendos. You really know your stuff
Check out a used Panoz Esperante, that would make a really cool really rare project car. Also have you ever thought of a kit car? DDR Motorsport or Superlite cars make some very unique vehicles you can build.
Such a good distraction for me , thanks Sarah. I’m healing from a bad accident and the videos help me
Sarah , you make my day. You have the patience of a saint. Rock on!!!
My 14yr old granddaughter wants to work on cars like you do.... Thank for inspiring her..😘
👍 Sarah IS awesome...suggested she give teens classes...to get her out of the house...errr, garage lol
I think ou are very smart and entertaining and a great mechanic you rock girl!!!
So cool! I can't wait to imagine those super projects! Im thinking of building my1991 Audi 90 into a custom rally daily driver! Tech tips help alot.
another great video! love how much care you put into doing things right, AND your care in how you make the video, and BONUS! wildlife breaks!
I'm still watching your project tt, and miss my roadster that got totalled in July when I got to boned.
I somehow caught your vids and really enjoy them so I subscribed. I love women who know there way around a car and a wrench! You remind me of an old friend that did her own body work! Relentless mechanicing! Love all the detail you put into the uploads. Impressive stuff.
You tackling it from uptop worked pretty well for me!
The sticker on the timing cover says: "For all check- and adjustment-tasks take note of the engine code ...!" 11:02
The sticker looks exactly the same as on my Audi 80/90 b4 except for the Engine code of course.
You are a great inspiration! I would love to work on my own car, but afraid I wouldn't be able to put it back together correctly :)
Last clip: You were working on the suspension. But I found this quite relaxing!
absolutely impressive!
as perfect as you screw ... I wish for such a thing here in Germany ... do a lap at the Nürburgring every weekend!
Loctite Red if you never want it to come apart again. Personally I'd use blue for that.
Woof what a load of work! So meticulous you are. Can't wait to see it make boost again. :)
FOD walk at 0500
I think you did well to get such a rust free chassis, it going to be a beautiful car once you're done re equipping it
Straight up, I like your channel because its not about rebuilding supercars. These are projects I would like to do, they are projects I could do, if I had the funds and space. Keep up the good work :-)
Hahaha I suffer from the a.d.d. I work in a bookstore and all my coworkers love your banter!
holy moley i haven't ever seen wheel wells that clean, even on new vehicles
Sarah, you are such an outstanding person. You would make the perfect auto mechanic teacher/instructor. Most of those dufuses get a tone in their voice like, your an imbecil if you dont learn right away. You would never do that due to your kind nature.
Wow your really good in cars..... from cleaning to commissioning.
Good luck to your TT.....
Hi Sarah, this is a phenomenal channel, so keep it up! If you get moments when things get tough with Teeter Tot, just think of Mr Dos, there is your inspiration! Just brilliant!!!
Next time you install a turbo for your 3rd hand use a pipe with a tie down strap to support the turbo :)
You had us sitting on the edge of our seats Sarah! Great job on the car..... and Yourself too.
You are being an inspiration for my TT project. Greetings from Portugal.
Your way of going about these projects drive me crazy ! I love it,,, you are the best !
10:06 is a bombass reference...... Love it
Good progress as that's a lot work, and well done for working out how to refit turbski with only one pair of hands. Luv the commentary does make me laugh.
Your doing great work on the hovering teeter tot. Keep pushing forward and smiling
The rear end is always tricky . Take it slow and use lots of lube.
It's too bad they (mostly) don't do turbos anymore.
you are the most entertaining mechanic. Please keep up the great work. I love your videos
Haha stumbled on your videos and you are damn entertaining. Also I love how clean and organized your garage is and I think I need to get myself a set of quick lifts too to work on my 2011 Sti.
One of my top favorite channels! I always enjoy your content Sarah!
I could have a really shitty day but once I see you uploaded a new vid..my day gets better. Thought you should hear that once in a while. :)
Really enjoy your videos I always make comments to myself when doing difficult task on cars too keep up the great work
Awesome vid! Hope it's a beast when you're finished! Ha ha, I've got turbo envy...nothing I can do with my MKII TT 3.2!!!
I always rewatch the videos. Very entertaining.
Great rear end work...great videos
The beauty of installing parts 2 (or 3) times is that the re-install (usually) goes quicker. No! Been there Sarah. Keep on plugging.
Excellent vlog on just every level throughly improved my day no end. Thanks.
So talented and focused you are. I could sure use your expertise and motivation on my 1968 McQueen fastback. Out of paint and ready for the beans ;) Let me know if you do road trips the great white north? Cheers
I’m in utah and you should see the underneath of my daily drivers nothing but rust
You go Girl! I love the voice over time lapse. Great video, Thanks!
