  • My dinner is usually pretty simple consisting of bulk cooked foods very minimal or even zero salt. It's pretty normal to me and tastes great but I think many might not think the same.

    My freezer use to look like yours. Here is a frugal suggestion for you. Use old water bottles, fill them with salt water. Why salt water, because it will freeze at a lower temperature. Why do this? Because if you can have more mass in your freezer, it will run more efficient. If one is a prepper, make some of the water bottles filtered water in case you ever need drinking water.

    I eat one Skittle as my desert. Entire pack last me close to 3 weeks. It's a delight a absolute delight! Sometimes I'll even freeze my Skitlet. That nice cold Skitlet goes down well after a meal. Absolute treat, no two ways about it. I highly recommend it to anyone who's trying to stretch their money. On a side note I never throw out the packaging. I sniff the bag, it's like a drug. After inhaling the bag I feel as if I've eaten two whole Skitlets.

    It’s good to conserve...here’s a tip u might like (in case you don’t already know), in additional to turning off gadgets/appliances when not in use, I actually unplug it as well. Everything except, of course, the fridge, oven, washer/dryer n dishwasher. I unplug everything n unbelievably, I save close to $100 a month on energy. my monthly bills are under $35. I also turn off thermostat except during winter. Building requires we keep stat at 65 ALL day everyday during winter months to prevent pipe breakage...n like u, I don’t use a lot of tissue at all except when I am eating fried chicken..I use it to soak up all the nasty grease!!

    My freezer is full because I don't eat out so my wife buys a lot of stuff from the local food co-op which is approaching it's best before date but it's frozen so it doesn't matter. Otherwise we wait until stuff is half price special like gyoja. We do buy our fresh veggies from the asian market much cheaper and only buy what is on special. We eat very very well for less than 50 bucks per week for both of us. It's important when you are living frugally to not feel like you are IMO

    I do a lot of the same things and enjoy eating a pb diet. I sleep less and never tired during the day. I cook about 5 days worth or rice at a time to keep in the fridge. So it is nice throwing dinner together in a few minutes. I do not use salt and only keep some meat in the freezer for my dog. Otherwise my diet is vegan and not deficient in anything. Also never use a microwave and still can get dinner together in less than 10 minutes,

I think the sauerkraut is a very nice edition same benefits as kimchi and the garbanzo beans contain good building blocks for protein to assimilate but their are dry mixes like 12 bean soup when cooked properly provide all the essential amino acids like soybean edame

    Oh, I would love to visit and tune you up a notch on this! You are doing great, no doubt, but I would love to show you tiny tricks how to make your diet even better. Candy could for sure be swapped for a date or two or some figs (much healthier options). White rice ... could be swapped for variety of things (i mean starchy options, quinoa, buckwheat etc.), my favourite would be black glutinous rice (second is red rice, alternatively riceberry), which of course takes forever to make, but all rice is possible to freeze. I freeze rice and beans with the water they have been cooking in, so that they are not dried out once thawed. I also tend to think in colors (and taste) when cooking. Like, you are having this cabbage and it would just be perfect to put some of that carrot you had in the fridge to it ... it would look fun. Add some spices ... yum. I love your "fridge emptying" system. I try to aim for the same, just never manage. Fresh produce somehow always makes it there before we are all out ...

    Your dessert sounds tasty. I personally like chickpeas in a greek salad.

    Probably could find a professional sealer on sale. That way you could have the same meal forever.

    Cooked cabbage, rice, scallops, never had that before, that's some kind of seafood? But besides the cooked cabbage you also had some sauerkraut! As for the Hibiscus jello with blueberries and some pomegranate bits, totally healthy Dinner! :)

    • @BeatTheBush
      @BeatTheBush  5 років тому

      No because of the gelatin. You can use vegan alternatives to turn it into jello though.
