Could you teach us how you made this chart? I would love to have a version like this for myself.
I made a video on it here: ua-cam.com/video/I-0OqyMnLaM/v-deo.html I have a tempate of it in the video you can download. It looks cool if you do it for a really long time.
Great video! Enjoy the Tesla Roadster!
You're an engineer. Use a log scale.
Thanks for your transparency. Can’t believe that you are 40. You look great. There are still states without income tax (w/wo capital gains and dividend tax) attracting many retirees. Can you make a video about your thoughts/opinions/pros &cons/future potential about each of these states. If you can tailor your video for the “younger than 65” yr old retirees would be most relevant. Thanks so much. You are doing a great job living out your life to the fullest. Congrats!
@@BeatTheBush Thanks king
I love how he revealed his age straight up rather than dragging us along with filler commentary for 10 minutes before answering
Truth
Except he basically slammed everyone over 40 without even knowing he did it. So weird
Dude is for real
My grandad told me that 40 is the beginning of adulthood. You ain’t old man, you just an adult. Thanks for sharing your personal stuff
yeah legal age of 18 is too low and arbitrary. its as if cynical old people picked a number so they can send as many people to fight wars for them. a-holes in life seldom change, they just get better hiding it to control others.
They raised the adolescence and adult age. 20 and 40 now.
because we live in the modern age. Back in ancient times, by age 40 you getting ready to die...
@@johnnylee8194 I think 18 is the "current" standard, because most graduate secondary education (high school). And that's the standard where MOST areas enable you to support yourself and even build up to family planning. When half the population worked on farms, you were pretty much an "adult" by 15, 16, maybe even 13, 14 for some girls who marry early, religious reasons or cultural role after menstruation, etc. By that time you will be able to work the fields and start making the next generation. Today, if try to start a family that early, you might need welfare, which taxes the system. But some more rural states allow it, which is why the "age of consent" is 16 in many states.
@@nomooon Not really, the average age expectancy was dragged down by high mortality at birth.
I’m 49. What I’d do to be 40 again. Believe me 40 isn’t old
=D
Thank you for being transparent. I know its scary to reveal your net worth bc of malicious people, but your honesty is valued by people who are on similar paths as you.
Never imagined this man is 40. Asian don't raisin....or something
I'm an OLD MAN! XD XD
BeatTheBush wowww you loook 25 haha
@@BeatTheBush Bush, It seems a bit reckless for such a smart and sane person like you to quit job at such low non-home networth number. Since your parents are in bay area too and given that asian families save up for their kids (I am an asian too), do you have good amount of inheritance that helped you make the decision as well?
@@mmungara He wanted out of the rat race and figured that the amount he had saved up was enough to maintain the lifestyle he is accustomed to. Takes a bit of courage to do something like that. Luckily, he has a small income stream like this channel.
@@BeatTheBush Shiet... I thought you were between 35 to 37 max!
*We always love UA-camrs that are transparent* 😁🙌
=D =D Glad I got this part right this time.
Forreal.
It's OK Francis. You look 30. Older people like me would say "Think you're old at 40? Wait until you're 50 or 60!" Nothing to be ashamed about. You're very accomplished. I'm much older than you and I'm about 10 years away from FIRE.
Sometimes you have to finally embrace who you are to truly live.
You’re not a sissy if you protect yourself against the sun. I studied molecular and cellular biology along with physiology back in the day: The sun will ruin your DNA.

Francisco Heredia What about the nuclides in your very bones, which keep emitting 24 hours a day? It’s incredible how often I see these dismissed, along with the sun. I’d love to hear from someone like you, who’s more experienced.
Olivia Matthew for the most part, nuclides aren’t a big worry that’s brought up if you’re preventative, not compared to UV radiation that bombards you on the daily.
Nuclides are a more slow and gradual build up kind of issue.

rhadb 50 is around the corner for me. Does that count as old? I have yet to see one wrinkle, but have plenty of white hair.
This is amazing! Thank you so much for sharing, it is extremely helpful for many of us, provides inspiration and a fantastic reference. Not even necessarily for directly comparing between each other just as a great resource and example of something REAL.
I really appreciate this!
Long time subscriber. Always loved (most of) your content. I’ve watched more of your videos now than I did when they had come out. Anyway, happy birthday! You seem to be on a journey to find happiness. Much luck!! And btw you don’t get older you get wiser. Much love from a fellow youtuber! ❤️
I was waiting for this info Francis =) I look up to you a lot and always wanted to know how old you were. Congrats on 40! You're still young (& you look like you could be 25)! Thank you for sharing.
I feel really good about sharing all this thanks to your comment. It always felts like I was hiding something when I didn't want to say.
@@BeatTheBush I think this is an awesome, concrete example young people can follow.
What would be interesting too is a detailed budget and suggested budget app.

40 years! wow you inspired me today. thank you man, that is exactly what i needed to hear to remind me that i am on the right track! I am approaching 40 soon too. God bless!
First million is definitely the toughest...time to make another two.
Getting out of the rat race is step 1.
@@BeatTheBush Would love to see an episode of that.
You’ve been an inspiration to me for many years. Thanks for all the content you’ve provided!
Great job tracking everything. I've also found that simply by being aware of my assets and spending I'm able to make better decisions on future purchases and life decisions.
Like if you know a car will be another source of Net Worth draw down due to depreciation, you look at it differently.
BeatTheBush I never really counted my car as an asset as it’s something “essential” where I live. However after what you said I’m going to add it in.
On a side note, I’m an American living in Turkey where the currency fluctuates like crazy. I bought my car here for about $27,000 a couple years ago and now it’s worth about $35,000. I wish I could sell it and live car-free but it’s tough to live in Istanbul without a car.
Happy bday. 40 Is a great age! Get your 15 min of sun for vitamin D purposes. I'm 59 tmo but I watch you. It motivates me to rethink stuff. Already $6000 debt paid since march. Been able to cut expenses by 42% too. Thanks young man!
You seem so much more at ease and relaxed after disclosing this! Looking forward to your new content
Congratulations Francis! You have achieved so much. You are what I am striving for and financial freedom is the main goal, as well as paying off the house. You are a great motivation. Thanks for sharing
You are NOT OLD Francis! You are such a leader and living your best life.
Thank you for being so candid and open .
I like how honest you are 💗
Thank you for the transparency. I am on the FIRE journey myself and you're one of the examples that convince me that it is possible. Happy 40th birthday!
Thank you for revealing these things Francis, long time subscriber you are one of the guys I look up to most. Hope you are doing well and wow amazing networth work here congratulations.
Happy belated birthday BeatTheBush! Been watching you're videos for a few years after finding your gift wrapping video 😃. I've also been keeping track my net worth on a google sheet, but this visual graph is pretty intuitive!
Happy Birthday Francis! 🎉 Love your channel. It’s literally what started my fire journey five years ago and has changed my life. Thank you!

Happy 40th. Thanks for sharing it all! Great info. Love the chart

Wow, this is amazing! Congrats on your financial achievements, and happy belated 40th birthday!
🤩 Wow! I never would've guessed 40. Looking great. Thx for sharing the info as it encourages me of how I can structure my financial life and live the life I want in early retirement. This is very encouraging. Thank you! And good job! 🏆🤗👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I appreciate the courage it took to put this out BtB, but very enlightening
1.6m wow congrats!!
Indeed. Congrats to BTB.
All locked up in a house.
@@BeatTheBush You still have it though, especially if you sell the house for potential profit.
Sell the house, buy a Cybertruck with camping attachment and become a nomad :-)
Ok, couple things. Forty is not old. You don’t even need reading glasses yet. You’ll need them soon though (45). Second, 1.6 mil is not rich, especially if a good portion is in your house. What happens if there’s a big earthquake? There goes your net worth. Third, why on earth is your house paid off? You are literally sleeping on a one million dollar pillow. That money should be invested. Mortgages are less than 3%. You should borrow against the house and get ready to put it all in the market during the post election slump.
You’re doing fine but you’re not there yet.
I love your content - happy you ended up sharing such personal information - great video!!
Happy Birthday! 🎉😁🎂 Your channel has been so inspiring to follow. Congratulations on your financial success!
It’s cool that you are doing so well in terms of networth. My husband and are in our late 40’s and early 50’s. Our net worth is right around 1.3 million. The largest portion is in our retirement $900,000. We still feel like we are behind in our saving. Plus we have two more kids at home to put through college. It feels like we won’t make it to retirement because we came late to the save as much as possible game. 🤷🏾♀️
Where do you live? NYC or Cali? anywhere else you should be totally fine.
Home value is so weird, especially with how much it varies by location and at different times. Maybe I missed it in the video but what was the price when you bought it? Also my guess was 33 lol
GoHerping Hi Alex. I didn’t know you were following this amazing channel 👍
Looking at the line. He bought the home for ~550k value in 2011. Put ~150k down payment, mortgage ~400k
Not everyone can afford 150k downpayment at age 31 and 400k mortgage esp he paid in solo. Esp thats the age planning get married and some even plan to have kid. it would be jnterestjng like to see a family version of networth growth
Avoid a wife and kids and you too can have an amazing lifestyle😃🎉
@@mikewallin6049 said the lonely uncle in his 60’s! Haha! I realized we will lose relevance in our 40’s to the younger ‘cool’ generations. But having kids will keep you relevant for life. Not to mention grand kids.
Best video yet. Thanks for sharing.
This is really cool. I really enjoyed watching it a few times. Keep on going!
FIRE spread sheeting is the only thing that kept me sane the last 5 years stuck in an office cubical!
what is that? You mean spreading the FIRE movement ideas to others?
@@BeatTheBush That as well, but in the early years I kept my sanity by building elaborate spreadsheets to track every facet of the journey to FIRE. Now that I am semi-retired I usually only track the numbers quarterly. There is just something maddening about being locked inside a cubical all day once you realize that FIRE is possible.
Please do a separate, more detailed video about paying onto your home equity. That interests me for my own situation. That's really my only debt left.
Brave to have posted your net worth. Many, many folks have a stigma against sharing finances with others. This certainly makes us viewers feel closer to you and your channel.
Thanks for the update! this is actually very insightful to help me gage where i am at. Ever since i started tracking, i've been able to double my networth each and every year for the last few years I recently hit 1Million this year at 27. This year's double was kinda crazy... Trying to double this would be a even greater challenge haha. any recommendations?
Thank you for sharing this! I was always curious if you live frugally, and have a paid off house, then how much your net worth needs to be to retire early. Now I have a data point.
You're welcome! It could be a lot lower if I were not stationed in California.
BeatTheBush just curious. How can your burn rate be at $20K when property tax alone is probably costing you $7K annually? Thanks for revealing your net worth. This is very informative and helpful.
Great to know where you stand at this age. I'm only 3 months younger than you and although not nearly worth as much as you, I'm closing in on $1 million. Should hit the milestone at the end of 2021 if not early 2022 (unless of course the economy tanks again). I've been using Quicken since 2006 and am very conscientious about my personal finances. I got to admit, when you have your goals set and work hard to achieve it, you'd be surprised how quickly your net worth ramps up. I never had a six figure job.
Happy birthday! I've enjoyed your videos for a couple years already
You do look younger than 40! I’m quite a bit older than that, lol. That said, I applaud how you keep your channel real and have strived to help so many people. Keep up the great work, because we appreciate it!
1M is my long term goal! - 500k is short term 5-10 years
I’m 43. Thought you was 30-35. After 40 my eyesight has deteriorated, my energy level has dropped significant. Body hurts from time to time.. in just 3 years. Your new job is to keep fit now when you have the time. I’m going for FI too. Have a countdown on my phone. I agree on what you said about work when you realise you do not have to be there much longer. Cheers
Same my eyes went down hill when I reached 40
54 for me
Good luck on your journey! You are right, it's important to invest in your health as well as your finances. Retirement isn't as fun if you don't have the energy to enjoy it. All the best to you!
Wow, my dad is 60 and he is miles fitter than me (I’m 23) I always ask him if his body feels like a 60 y/o and he legit always says he still feels like he’s 30. He doesn’t exercise but is a very busy and active man. It varies from person to person. This guy might not have the same deterioration in health as you 😊🤷♀️
Leah McDermott That is true, it’s a lot from your gens. Like my dad, he suffered the same when he was 40 until around 50, then it was stable until around 75. Do what you old man do, and you too will be feeling like 30 when you are 60. Myself I need to get this stable and It can stay like it is until I’m 70+. Look at your family history, it’s an open book about your life :-)
Thanks for finally sharing dude, congrats on early retirement!
Congrats on the growth
I thought you were in your late 20’s to early 30’s!! Wow! Happy Birthday!!🎉
My apartment currently burns almost 30% of my income. Paying that off would certainly help a lot. Thanks for sharing!
“Paying that off” meaning you own it..? In which case who cares about paying it off.. it’s all just your equity. Focus on investing the rest of your money
You are awesome beathebush, thanks for the transparency. I hope to meet you in person some day, because I have learned a lot from you!!
I love this Chart. I will start making this chart for my Net Worth!! Thank you for sharing this video.
I don't feel comfortable with the house being 60% of your net worth. I don't think it should be more than 25%. Very interesting video. Thank you for sharing.
Nice. Looking good at 40!
Adrenochrome?
Thanks!
Thank you for sharing this info. I love how you broke down your net worth and took the time to explain in detail. Awesome video!
Great videos I’ve been following you for years since the beginning.
Intrigued. Have you ever considered moving outside of Bay Area for the next 10 years maybe? Own a brand new custom built house for half the price and do more investing and traveling?
I am thinking of selling my house in SF and paying cash for a house in Sacramento. My net worth will take a hit due to sales commissions. I will gain the peace of mind from not having any debt. My wife and I both have six figure incomes. I am able to work from home and would like to be able to retire in 10 years. I also have a Tesla Model 3 Performance as well.
Wow. Francis looks great for 40. Would have never guessed. He’ll look 50 when he’s 70 at this rate.
Love all the charts and the trendlines 😍 Fascinating. Great job man 👍🙈💰
Absolutely love and respect your transparency. Your success is an inspiration and great job!
Thank you so much!
How about working smt with your age? Did you hear about David Sinclair and his book? I would love to see you discuss about anti-aging, David Sinclair, his work, NMN etc...
What is smt? I suppose the way to do it is to halt the decomposition of your DNA by always having antioxidants in your body.
@@BeatTheBush Antioxidants are so 80s lol. There is a new golden boy in town call David Sinclair. His research changes the way we think about aging. Please read his book Lifespan or you can watch his talks on youtube. In short, antioxidants can do nothing about antiaging. The guy who was primary research on it took high dose but still deaths at his 60s. David Sinclair has a new theory and he can make mouses older in lab. It will take sometime before he can make mouse older or younger at will lol. But anyway, you should definitely chechk out his talks. Let us know if you are excited about it 🤩🤩🤩
The problem with niacin, though, is it eats up your methyl groups, though. So unless you’re naturally overmethylated (or on a high methionine diet),, that could be a problem.
Antioxidants are great; astaxanthin is the highest food source, and molecular hydrogen is even way more potent than that because it is the smallest element. There are ways to lengthen and maintain the chromosome endcaps called telomeres, which serve as a biological clock.
Sitaifun Mac Yeah, many people see obvious effects from astaxanthin and other carotenoids right away. (In my case, they affect my sight very quickly)
On the other hand, wow, “molecular hydrogen” couldn’t sound like more of a scam. Yet here it is in legitimate looking studies in Pubmed. In practice, how the heck would a normal person take that??
Finally some balls. Appreciate the transparency. This will help many ppl achieve higher goals faster. But Thought you were over 40 and had more. Was thinking $2-3M. Wdv happened had u not bought a tsla and stayed invested in tsla. At least $200k more.
I love how you snatched the band aid off that age thing in the first 30 seconds of the video. 😊 Excellent content. 😊

I like this vid .Good insight.
From what we've seen of your house, I wasn't thinking $1 million. California house prices are insane. I was also thinking you had around 400k net worth, I guess I was guessing low.
Thanks for having the courage to reveal this information. I've been subscribed to this channel for years, and had suspected a higher value. I am glad to have a data point to serve as a basis of comparison. I feel like I am always behind in this aspect of life, but am encouraged that financial independence can be realistically achieved.
