      There are plenty of ways to cheat in school. On the contrary, book smart does not mean common sense. Many people are also brain washed by brand marketing and status for temporary satisfaction. They need to ask themselves if it is a "want or a need" and try to not purchase on first sight. Atleast think about it overnight and do research about it. Stay away from emotional and compulsive shopping. Be tactical about choices and stop trying to keep up with the Jones's, or you will be 68 years old calling this guy worried about your retardedment. By the way, that picture is not of me. That is the idiot gang member who thought he could get away with robbing my friends house who is a sinlge hard working mom raising 4 kids. He is still in prison right now thanks to me hunting him down after almost a year of his crime. Lol

There seems to be more negative portfolios in the last 3rd half of 2023 with markets tumbling, soaring inflation, and banks going out of business. Jason Burns I'm fine with it, but if you're intelligent enough to make that kind of income in a free market, then it's curious that you'd seek financial 'help' from a national radio talk show.
      To complain about how miserable it would be to make 850K and live in a rural US town for three years is obscenely gauche and crass. Rarely have I heard such a lack of basic social awareness. No one ought to be criticzed for their wealth; That's beside the point entirely. Though if I were a producer on this show, I would only entertain calls from people that needed actual financial help and guidance. I would certainly not air the insufferable grievances of Eva Gabor... worried about missing out on the luxurious New York night life while earning more in one week than a sixth of households in America do in a year.
      Be proud of your wealth and the sweat on your brow, but don't ever forget how fortunate you are to live in a society that allows one to prosper so greatly while others struggle.

      Depends, if it’s really really in the middle of nowhere where it snows all the time and your nearest neighbor is 100 meters away and there’s literally nothing to do and you have no friends nor relatives outside of your significant other it can take a big toll on your mental health. For example I often go visit my grandparents who live in the country and I have a lot of fun with them but I know that if I were to stay there for long periods of time it would be real hard for me, because there’s not a lot to do and not a lot of new people to meet

Med school debt can easily be paid off in 5 years or less depending on salary if you don’t get yourself into more debt trying to live like a billionaire.

Either situation you come out a winner, but she is worried about how they don't have a retirement savings yet and if they should make 500k more or not lol. In one year, at either job, whatever they save will be more than basically 60% of the rest of the US population's savings accounts. I pray I one day have a problem like hers lol.
    However, jokes aside, it is an interesting question. Does more money really bring more happiness? She will lose her friends, family, and basically entire life for extra cash. They are making so much already I highly doubt the extra 500k will add any more joy to their lives. Especially since they can't use it to have fun with anyone. Just alone in no where land with a bunch of cash isn't too exciting.

      @stt5v2002 6 років тому +51

      Team Shmo I am also a doctor and I am familiar with this exact situation.
      YES YES YES it is worth it. There is a very big difference in happiness that comes with having enough money not just to live well but to completely stop worrying about money. I live well but not at all extravagantly. Making 350k/yr was way more than enough and allowed substantial savings and investments. After 15 years I have a net worth that allows me to do basically anything I would actually want to do. I cut back my hours to spend time with my kids. I could handle losing a job for years if needed. When I need to buy something I don’t actually have to worry about the cost. I still do out of habit but I know I have enough money so it doesn’t cause actual stress. If this guy took the $850k job, he can get there in 5 years instead of 15. In the tundra with low costs, maybe he can get there in 3. Totally worth it.
