Actually, House of the Dragon does an excellent job of exploring the way incest in royal families is inseperable from eugenics and misogyny and toxic/abusive family dynamics. You're absolutely not supposed to watch the show thinking the incest is all fine and dandy.
When you know the story of how things are meant to play out, you don’t fuck with destiny and change them. Theon was destined to fully redeem himself and his story ended there. Bran changing that is just fan service and selfish.
Womp womp its almost like they could have executed it without relying on "not changing the future" by literally just rearranging the sequence@@notyouraveragebear9326
I think the thing that pissed me off more in season 8 was the crypt. Like we know for a FACT that the Night King can turn dead people to his side!! And their best fcking idea is to put the most vulnerable people in a place surrounded by dead bodies... I mean come on!! Jon saw him, with his own eyes, and yet he himself thought the crypt was safe... it makes no sense to me
I think the even bigger problem was that there weren’t any consequences from it, no named characters died. Asoiaf is built on actions having consequences, and that’s one of the many things they kinda forgot about in the later seasons.
Yeah it's like the most intelligent characters became complete morons the last 2 seasons. That's what pissed me off the most with the end of GoT I think
To be fair, they have only seen the Night King turn people who were killed by Wights, not just random bodies that died prior by other means. So they could have thought that bodies in the crypt wouldn’t be impacted. The burning of bodies for the Nights Watch could have originated way back to the Long Night as to prevent bodies becoming Wights but that reasoning could have been lost in time and now they think they only do it as tradition. But honestly where else could the innocent and defenseless go? Anywhere else would be too exposed or easily accessible.
the dragons fighting breaks my heart everytime 💔 Rhaegal and Drogon mustve been so confused, i wonder if they could sense Viserion was already gone :( Also Viserion was said to be the gentlest of the 3 dragons so what the night king made him to do his mother and siblings makes me feel sick. One of my favourite moments from the books is when Viserion tries to sit on Dany's knee like he did when he was a baby, he was so cute :(
@@kimberlyjeanne9456 whenever i think of him i think of the paragraph that says he tries to perch on Dany's shoulder and when she tried to get him off he wrapped himself around her and wouldn't let go, i hate what the night king did to that sweet baby :( i hope he was already truely dead when the night king controlled him, i cant imagine him watching himself hurt his mother 😭
I saw someone comment on another video: “It took the Night King to kill Theon” Not his dad, not the people who turned on him, not Ramsay, not his uncle. THE NIGHT KING HIMSELF😭😭 WHAT IS DEAD MAY NEVER DIE❤❤
I know that like, the crypt probably seems like a good fortified place for the non combatant people. But nobody stopped to think that putting non combatant people in a large room full of generations of dead people while the guy who can literally raise the dead is on his way was a bad idea?
dumb and dumber didn't care enough to think hence the characters didn't. It's not the first or the last time it happens *cough* dany kind of forgot.... *cough*
In my opinion he was the best choice. He's not prone to anger or any strong emotions, he can't have kids so we'll have no more Joffrey's or Aemond's. He was the best choice
@@WatcherobotAnd what happens when he dies? All goes to sh*t again because everybody will want to be king. Also I don't think putting a person without feelings, emotions or empathy on the throne is the best choice, in that case psycopaths would make the best rulers lol.
"I can't be lord of Winterfell, I can never be lord of anything" "Syke! Hell yes I'll be president for life, 'Why do you think I came all this way' lol. Enjoy being ruled over by your AI king forever" Yeah, I hate it
I ADORED episode 2 of this season. The quiet beats and range of emotions it gives us, Pod singing, Brienne knighted 😭😭😭 all of it Side note: it was kind of a fun movie night vibe when you dimmed your lights!
As a book reader I think my biggest issue with seasons 5-8 is how much they really left out from the books. Like, no adaptation is perfect, but the show went and completely omitted major characters and plotlines and then the showrunners turned around and said "oh what, it's George's (the author) fault, he never finished the books". Like OK, fine, he should have finished them by now, but you (a) stopped listening to the literal world creator's feedback in Season 5 to the point he LITERALLY STOPPED WORKING ON THE SHOW and refused to promote it even in its penultimate season (b) removed major plotlines and characters to the point that the entire resolution is harder to reach so they just made shit up randomly. Book readers, could you imagine how different this season would be with Faegon? With Arianne and the other Martells? I also really love Sansa, Tyrion, and Jon, but they gave me reasons not to. Very interested to see your reactions and opinions on those upcoming events. Like you said, Tyrion has really been in his flop era... and it just gets worse. Why? They could not make him smart without GEORGE making him smart. Just terrible.
Yeahh that was one of the main problems for me as somebody who’s such a fan of the books, the world in the later seasons (especially 7-8) just feels so….empty. Like besides the North, no other houses exist besides the rulers and immediate family of any particular region. What they did with the Reach, the iron islands and Dorne was just…..tragic
Im sorry but they were never gonna include a bunch of storylines and characters that grrm decided to add in late into the series. It's a tv show and people werent gonna tolerate barely seeing their faves over 2493characters and storylines theydidnt know or care about before. And they arent gonna have 10 seasons of this show
@@giuf175Casual viewers aren’t watching because they care about how many characters are in it, they’re watching for the fights and the dragons. More invested viewers want both, so there wouldn’t be any problem with a few more characters. And why exactly would people not watch 10 seasons of the show, it consistently grew in popularity throughout 8.
My biggest problem here is that the night king was THE villain! The villain that all of Westoros needed to unite for in the end to defeat and it was done in... 1 episode.....1... 😵💫
to be fair, I feel its VERY STUPID from Sam's Tarly brother to follow his dad to death. knowing that like honor and house are the most important things in this world, being the next in line as head of house cuz there's no other male heir as Sam is a sworn brother, sacrifing there didnt make sense.
@@becoolpolo He literally chose to Danny’s not responsible for him being a dumb ass He literally just decided to stand by his dad and get burnt to death, for no real good reason that they shared
Funnily enough, that song is highly implied to be written by Rhaegar. It’s about his great aunt Jenny who went mad after some other Targaryens died in a wildfire disaster and Rhaegar was known to visit the place where they died and was known to sing sad songs. It’s possibly also the song he sang to Lyanna when he met her that made her cry and kind of fall for him so it’s very significant
If you don’t think too hard about season 8 episodes, they are fine as they are visually good and exciting, but the issue everyone had is that character development went out the window, plot armour was so prevalent when the reason everyone loved GoT was because no character was safe. And story lines that don’t make sense and the travelling. For example, how did Arya get past the whole white walker army to kill the night king when all the white walkers were literally looking at the night king and bran but somehow she got past them and was allowed to jump on him and attack him and the whites just watched.
Compared to season 4, which in my opinion is the peak of the show, season 8 just doesn’t measure up in almost every way. A couple rewatches later and it’s definitely not as bad as it was in real time, but the difference in quality is clear
@@LalaDepala_00No, it wasn’t objectively bad. It’s media/storytelling and that is always subjective and open to interpretation. The only thing I will say is that the dialogue was lacking in quality and the timing was rushed. The actual events and endings for the characters made sense if you’d been paying attention since the beginning
@@a.j.1819 IMHO, the reason the dialogue was lacking is that Mr. Martin didn't write it. They went from pairing down dialogue and storylines in the first seasons to writing a screenplay from scratch in seasons 7 and 8.
100% agree with the butchering of Tyrions intelligence the last two seasons. He went from being one of my fav characters, to being in my top five worst for his stupid mistakes (I just pretend post-season six Tyrion doesn’t exist ✨)
I was an extra in the last season and I was apart of various scenes including where the wights proceeded towards the Northern Alliance Army…and I remember seeing the guy who plays Sam basically at the front line and thinking to myself “…ah well that’s a shame, I liked Sam.” Imagine my shock actually watching the episode and seeing him survive?? 😭 It was great fun to film I have to say lol, but it was still a lot of work and long sleepless nights. It was a massive shame to see so many people demand we reshoot the season because they weren’t happy with the writing. I wasn’t overly pleased with it either and likewise for many of the extras and crew that I’ve spoken to about it, but if people saw the sheer effort and dedication that the cast and crew had put in…it is a kick in the teeth for those of us who actually did put our all into that season. Anger should be directed at the writers, not those of us who were doing what we could with what we were given 😅
Most of the anger WAS directed at the writers when S8 was airing. David Benioff & D B Weiss became viral on the internet for their atrocious writing of S8. Grievances against the actors or extras or anyone else other than the writers was very rare. I can understand where you are coming from. If I were selected for a Game of Thrones shoot, I'd be over the moon and I too would feel devastated at the response the show received. I'm sure you & everyone else were putting in you best while the filming was going on and worked your asses off. But unfortunately the actors & everyone else involved can only do so much when the fundamental writing is wrought with plotholes, retconning and inconsistent characterization.
This is gonna be a long information but bare with me (no spoilers i promise everything i type are information from the books that basically stopped at S5) In the books it has not yet been confirmed that Jon Snow is the Son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen, so do I agree with this theory? Maybe? The last thing that happened to Jon in the books is he was betrayed (season 5 ending) THIS is where the book ends AND for Daenerys, she just had her first flight on Drogon she is still lost somewhere. This is where things are also messed in the show, personally i do believe Jon will return to life but “A life has a price” and “no man that return from death will remain the same”. Even so, Jon is raised a Stark he will always be a Northerner at heart he doesn’t know the ways of the Targaryens like Daenerys, she grew up with her brother who probably told her stories about her family and her ancestors. Dany knows that she has a role to play. Now this is where the prophecy “the Prince That Was Promised” got a bit divided (in GOT), and the show really messed it up on so many levels, some say it refers to Daenerys some say it’s for Jon and i strongly believe that it refers to Daenerys, in the book there is a quote “it is written that there will come a day after a long summer when stars bleed and the cold breath of darkness falls heavy on the world. In this dread hour a warrior shall draw from the fire a burning sword. And that sword shall be Lightbringer, the Red Sword of Heroes, and he who clasps it shall be Azor Ahai come again, and the darkness shall flee before him", we already saw the “stars bleed” part aka the red comet and i do believe that “Lightbriger” in this situation is Drogon, not exactly THE sword (metaphorically). Now in the books it wasn’t confirmed who Azor Ahai is, Season 7 was building the idea that Jon and Dany one of them will be the one who will end this “long night”, even if i wanted to put sense into the show i would start by “dragon fire, which is magic, NOT affecting the night king, who is actually a magical creature”. What was the point to make a big show about dragons and keep repeating the prophecy of “the prince that was promised” if Aria stark a girl who knew barely anything about magic or the whites had to do it. They spend the entire show building Dany’s character to the end of her doing nothing other than hop on a dragon, or even Jon hiding behind a rock for like the last 15 min of the episode. However everything in season 8 is where story line and common sense came to die. I might want to add something, “The dragon choose the rider” it’s a very special bond that it’s made and something you will see in HOTD, it’s not clear how and why the bond happens, is it based on blood on worthiness, as someone who read the books it hasn’t been cleared yet. It’s true that Targaryens have a special bond with dragons but in the time of Old Valyria there were 40 families who were dragon riders (that didn’t survive the doom). Will Dany’s dragons have riders later on in the books? Yes, but we don’t know who it might be. *PLEASE RESPECTFULLY DON’T COMMENT ANY KIND OF SPOILERS FROM HOTD OR GOT UNDERNEATH THIS COMMENT, SO BRAD CAN ENJOY THE SHOWS!!
Arya learned all that magic stuff from Jaquen Hagar & The god of Many Faces. How else can they just wear people's faces, sound like them and be them without any magic? Plus Melisandre told Arya that she would close brown eyes, green eyes, blue eyes. That was in season 3
@@kimberlyjeanne9456 There's still no relation to the night king or the prince that was promised prophecy. Tons of people have blue eyes and the fact she names the other colours as well means blue is not significant. The writers just used that as a tool for her to kill the night king, which makes no sense.
@@0utlandergaming But is the prince that was promised actually a prophecy or did they just call it that? I thought it's actually a dragon dream or vision. And those aren't always literal bc even Bran doesn't see everything clearly. They've also said the all the history books were written by maesters so it's all interpretive. I might be recalling it wrong since I watched the series back when it aired on HBO and reactions don't show everything.
39:05 the subtle circus music I'm deaaad 😭 Your editing is literally the best I've ever seen by so damn far and this is not even close to my favorite tidbit I think it's just an endless collection of hilarious or visually fitting or just straight up cool details
In my HotD withdrawal, I’ve binged all of your GoT reactions and have CONSTANTLY impressed with your ability to correctly predict the goings-on in the show. I figured you were a tv writer yourself. Even more impressed that you still enjoy every scene even after you anticipate what’s going to happen. So fun to watch!
About that title... just wait girl!! Acting and production value are stunning of course, but the writing just really is not it. I will say, I did like Theon's arc in the end, they did that well. I have to respectfully disagree about you saying that battle for the Iron Throne is what it’s all about in the end. Thematically, the white walkers have been presented as the big threat. The book series on which the show is based is called ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’, not ‘Game of Thrones.’ It’s about the ultimate battle between fire (dragons) and ice (white walkers). The very first scene of the show was about the white walkers, not the throne. The squabbling and endless wars only distracted from the true danger. While I love Arya and the scene left me gagged, her killing the night king did not make sense to me, storywise. She had no connection to the white walker storyline, while Jon, who had all of this history with the night king, just stood there screaming at the dragon, looking stupid and being useless. I also expected the night king to be more than just your stereotypical ‘Fantasy Big Villain Who Wants to Destroy the World’ kind of guy, who just gets killed without ever even understanding his reasoning. I will say, I am an avid reader of the books, so I am probably biased when it comes to analyzing the story and the potential end game. Love your videos, keep up the good work!
I feel like people who binge the whole show years after the fact always like the last 2 seasons WAYYYYY more than those of us who watched live. It was truly a dreadful couple of seasons after 6 seasons of (mostly) perfect TV. I’m still so bitter about it.
Thank you so much for understanding Sansa's POV. 😭😭😭 It is a valid concern! ((Although i feel like the writers were not executing everything about their dissagreement in the right way))
Sansa, Dany and Missandei stand outside Winterfell's gates...the Night King is slayed by 3 DEADLY face cards in 3 minutes flat. He was scrambling, he was scared, he was lucky they didn't unleash those faces and fits
Talking about GoT, Gray Worm actor, Jacob Anderson, became the lead of the TV series adaptation of Interview With The Vampire. Do you consider doing a reaction to it, Brad? It honestly became one of my favorite series so far, it was beautifully done ✨️
listen. i live for single sansa queen of the north BUT i would've loved the dramatic parallel of her ending up with gendry, like arya actually found sansa the true boratheon heir, the prince that she was always meant to marry to join their houses (going back to leanna and robert) who will be good and kind and let her take the lead. like the peticism, meanwhile arya is just there as our ace representation.
Loved your reaction, as always. The major thing that im mad about this season are the forced conflicts between characters: 1. No one giving a f*** about the white walkers who are clearly the priority 2. Sansa and Dany hate each other 'cause reasons 3. Jon revealing his identity is not a problem because they could just marry one another. Just so stupid
Arya killing the night king makes absolutely no sense narratively. The writers were jumping through HOOPS trying to make it make sense for her to be the one to do it. Even changing that quote from melisandre. Thats not even how she originally said it back in season 3. Just plain lazy writing.
It made absolutely perfect sense narratively. Her family, her brother, her home, she was literally THE ONLY PERSON who had been training for death, who knew death the entire series.
I agree with the comment about watching it all at once versus watching it over the years it was airing. I'm of the opinion that the ending itself is not as bad as people make it seem like, it just seemed super disappointing to fans who had been waiting as the episodes came out that may already decided how they wanted it to end. I think it's clear they needed another season-ish to make the pacing feel normal and it also is clear they ran out of source material to fall back on. But on the whole, not as horribly disappointing as I think people claim it is. Like if it was a finale for most any other show I think it would be considered good, but because GOT had been so consistently fantastic it was clear the quality went down
I think the same. It was rushed but it's not disappointing. Also I think if the writers has not given the shitty reason for choosing Arya as the person killing the night king and based on something else it would have been better. One more thing, the prophecy was about a price who unites the realm not the one who will kill night kill. So Dany did United all the kingdoms which is why I feel it's okay that Arya is the one who killed night king.
@@tobiasgund8048yes I agree. I think if people spent over 8 years watching as it came out, that was 8 years to build your own ending in your head. So whatever happened was bound to disappoint someone. The idea that everything would work out is not realistic, and I think that’s what a lot of people wanted. I think another thing, which I think is also what people are doing now with HoTD, is they watch an ending and it’s not immediately what they wanted so therefore fans deem it as really bad. I’d make a guess that once HoTD is over and people start binging it all the way through we’ll start hearing how the season 2 finale was actually good…and I’ll agree
@@maggierappa417 imo season 2 of HoTD was simply unfinished, and much like season 8 of GoT it was rushed out to meet expectations. Many people are convinced that the first couple episodes of season 3 HoTD will be worthy of being season 2's finale. But of course, as a result, season 3's finale may also be short-changed.
So i am a fantasy enjoyer AND a writer so when it comes to the final seasons i have like a dual perspective; i watched these seasons over the course of a few months 😭 and as a fantasy enjoyer & visually it is amazing, gotta give it up to the production team & the actors & the SFX, however from a writers perspective the storytelling is non satisfactory 😭 thats the best way to explain GOT final seasons,
1. You picking up on Arya being the one to kill the night King is amazing because nearly no one else did it before she actually killed him. 2. Get used to that incest because HoTD is ALL incest. 😂
I hate how Jon claims to have bent the knee to get her to help but that’s a lie. She agreed to help before he bent the knee. The whole prophecy of the prince/princesss who was promised was a waste. Tyrion trusting Cersei was stupid they just made Tyrion stupid. The 7 kingdoms wasn’t united only 2 were even there the north & the vale & Daenerys’s armies & dragons. With a few iron born & some randoms. Smh hate this season

the dothraki living for the blade on fire magic moment when they hate hate HATE magic in canon is sooo funny to me. also the mumbo jumbo body part mandala the whiteys made for all these seasons not being explained lol
like i'm sorry sir... were you bored? were you looking for a creative output? why take your sweet time dismembering while you could be member-ing them??? member-ing them to your army as in
You would almost think that they’d maybe change their mind about magic when faced with literal dead people coming back to life to kill them? A blade on fire is help in that situation no matter where it comes from. Y’all are so hellbent on trashing and complaining.
@@a.j.1819They weren’t okay with magic when it came to healing their Khal, why would they be okay with it now? Same thing happened with the Sparrow and the Sept. Margaery made a good case for them to leave but he didn’t listen to her. Men don’t listen to sense when it comes to their beliefs. Besides I don’t think anyone took their sweet time explaining how fire had a better chance of killing the walkers.
@@sejan8812They most likely did, why wouldnt they tell the army about to fight the white walkers what their best chances are? Besides the fact that these aren’t the Dothraki that followed Drogo, they didn’t trust the witch to „heal“ their Khal because they had just ravaged her town and they saw it as a minor cut not in need of any healing. Again, vastly different situation than being faced with an army of dead people. Don’t know why it‘s hard for you to understand that beliefs might go overboard when faced with imminent death. Y’all just love nitpicking instead of flowing with the story told.
I mean. No one hated the episode immediatly, bc it was epic and incredible. But the more you think about it, the less things make sense. Is it an amazing, big production epic thing? Yes Does it make sense? Not in the slightest lol. Especially arya killing the night King just because. The two dumbasses that write the season literally said “yeah jon should have killed the night King bc of the prophecy but it was too expected so we chose arya” like wtf
It also kind of made the battle with Circe just not very epic because you’ve already defeated the army of the dead the weird little human spat just seems very pitiful and shallow Realistically, when Cersei chose not to fight for the living, she forfeited her crown
"i just want someone nice that wants to spend time with me hahahaha OH NO!" how quickly you want from laughing to gasping is amazing....BAAAHAHAHAHA the boom boom boom CLAP omg i love how you edit things
It is ironic since the reason her family had the throne to begin with was because they came in and stole everyone else's lands and bullied their way into power during the Conquest. Only for her father to lose it when they no longer had the advantage of dragons on their side. Without their dragons, the Targaryens were arrogant idiots who lost the throne themselves by fucking around and finding out. The realm didn't WANT her dad as king and rightfully rebelled.
The third episode really broke any trust I had left on a good final season for GOT. During the first 6 seasons we had important characters, even protagonists, dying and showing us no one was safe, that this world was not fair. Is not “wanting people to die”. Is that This was supposed to be THE war , but we only lost 2 barely side characters and 3 important side characters, one of them being a child. This is supposed to have been a carnage and we are not even able to really feel that. Brad himself came up with so many good options of characters that would make so much sense dying in that battle and making this episode feel important and heavy on our hearts. Worm and his promise in the front of the battle; Jamie with one ducking hand in a battle with an army of dead people deserving a sacrificing end instead of the mess he got in the last episode; the Hound could sacrifice himself for Arya and die without the revenge he wanted so much against his brother, being the best kind of breaking expectations; Sam not being a fighter but brave enough to be in a battle dying and breaking our hearts; They did so much planting with no pay off at all and for what? The sake of bad surprises? In the end, this battle just felt like a waste of potential
The fact that you called Arya killing the Night King had me wondering if people were leaving spoilers in the comments of previous videos. I remember that this did not make sense to anybody watching it as it was coming out. Arya has had nothing to do with the Night King up to this point, and there are several characters that it would’ve made more sense to kill him than Arya, but the writers just wanted to “subvert expectations” 🤦🏻♀️
Tbh even with all the problems, I wouldn’t say s7 and 8 aren’t entertaining, just that when you think deeper about them, especially sometimes after finishing the show, it becomes apparent how stark the contrast in quality is
So glad to hear your comments on how Arya killing the Night King made perfect sense as she was the only one who could unconventionally do it, strategically so, and you caught the wind whispering/blowing past the White Walker right before the kill too. Thank you!
22:10 made me think of faegon and what tyrion said to him in the books For those who don't know in the books there's a guy who claims to be aegon the first son of rhaegar and ellia martel whose death was supposedly faked the one from "you raped her you killed her you murdered her children" and now he wants to marry dany get a dragon and rule westeros and so tyrion tells him dany has no reason to believe him let alone let him claim the throne "Now, how do you suppose this queen will react when you turn up with your begging bowl in hand and say, 'good morrow to you, Auntie. I am your nephew , Aegon, returned from the dead. I've been hiding on a poleboat all my life, but now I've washed the blue dye from my hair and I'd like a dragon please...and oh, did i mention, my claim to the iron throne is stronger than your own? ' " In the show they mixed faegon and jon instead
I personally have a long list of reasons I can’t stand S8.. but one of my main reasons is that they sucked all of the color out of the show. I remember the first time I rewatched the show I gasped when I saw how colorful and magical it used to look.
I still enjoyed this season! I mean it's Game of Thrones, the bar is still really high no matter if there are some issues with the quality or the characters. This season is very entertaining, it helps if you binge the show because you might not see all the discrepancies or problems other people find when they watched it for 10 years. Jorah, Theon, and Lyanna Mormont dying were some of the saddest parts for me, I cried at each death. For me, Theon had redeemed himself a while ago especially when he saved Sansa from Ramsey. Arya killing the night king was so badass. Love Arya and Gendry! ❤Really excited for the second half of the last season. Your incest morals have to go away before you start House of the Dragon! Can't wait for what's to come.
, after many rewatches vs other TV fantasy or scifi around S8 isn't horrid just the last 2 episodes REALLY disappointing cause this season should have been regular 10 and last season 7 episode numbers to make the locations/character evolution and time make more sense than cut and thousands of miles traveled or character barely shows things to justify new choices reason. Alot is just no time so FINALLY close out arcs positive for fans.
Im surprised to see how many people are defending the ending. Like I get not hating it, but GRRM has even said they couldve kept going for seasons. It seems the creators purposely rushed through it because they wanted to move on and work on other projects. Which is a really shitty thing to do when people invested years into this show, and the creators themselves were very passionate about it in the beginning. Plus they sort of just stopped involving the freaking author which is insane considering how conplex the plot is. GRRM shouldve been their secret weapon and they just started pretending it was their creation. Edit: and for the people saying its being able to watch it all together, instead of waiting. That might be part of it but I watched seasons 1 to 7 at once and it didnt change how I personally felt about season 8.
Left up to the fans and George, the show would still be going and we'd barely be wrapping up the Dorne plot. There's a reason he himself can't even finish the story. They had to finish it when they did or risk recasting half the main actors. It was over. We got the show we got. Like it or not, no one cares. It has nothing to do with the writers losing passion for the story or whatever you're trying to say. They did their best.
@@pieceofdebri I mean, yeah, we got what we got, but having issues with how it ended is reasonable. It could've worked if they'd even given it another season. Which literally everyone wanted. The audience, George, and the network. The only ones who wanted to end it were the creators. Not sure why you think half cast would have left or whatever when it was one of the most popular shows to ever air. The main cast wasn't going anywhere. And still doesn't explain why they stopped consulting GRRM long before the show ended. And part of why he can't finish it is because he's just a slower writer. (Not saying people can't like it. It's fine to like it, but it's also fine to have issues with how it was handled.)
@@alyssahumphres1082 because George gets pissy when someone doesn't follow his books verbatim (like how he's doing with HotD) and distances himself. And still, he can't even finish his own damn story.
@@pieceofdebri lol I think it's more he knows the story better than anyone else, and knows what needs to happen to make everything make sense. There's no convincing me this is somehow his fault when he wasn't really involved past like season 5 or 6 of GoT.
I dont understand when people say everything happened to bran was for nothing. He had to get to the tree and become the three eyed raven and see all the things that people didnt know, thats why. Why isnt that good enough? He would never walk again, but he did fly.
It´s not that, it´s just the fact that they couldn´t write his character properly and made him become emotionless. Also, there´s really no apparent reason for him to even become the three eyed raven, he just has to, because . And then he has no purpose AT ALL in the show. They reaally screwed up Bran´s arc sadly
@@julietablanco5182They didn’t “make” him become emotionless. I don’t know why people can’t understand that someone who sees past present and future will not be a personal being anymore and will become incredibly detached. It just makes sense.
It boggles my mind how the writers didn’t think once to talk to the George R. R. Martin for potential ending ideas. They just went ahead and ruined years of development for each and every character.
Actually all the way at the beginning of the show they were asked two questions Who is Jon's mother and who will sit on the Iron Throne and George said that they answered correctly and that they stuck to their answer

I love how throughout this entire shows watch along every time Brad says “I hope ____ doesn’t happen” & I just think “don’t keep your hopes up” because his predictions are almost always right 😂
It's funny you mention defecating on yourself, one of the things that is said many times in the books is the descriptive phrase of someone's "bowels turning to water" and it stuck in my head because that has to be an enormous amount of fear for someone to have that would cause that. 1:08:34 absolutely loved when it finally clicked 😂 Bran telling Theon that he's a good man has heavy significance in the books. It hasn't happened in the books but it still makes me tear up every time because I know how much it meant to Theon to hear it, especially from Bran.
I love your spot on predictions dude. I’ve watched every reaction video you’ve put out for GOT and since season one nearly all of your predictions are just spot on, it’s actually crazy 😂

Actually, House of the Dragon does an excellent job of exploring the way incest in royal families is inseperable from eugenics and misogyny and toxic/abusive family dynamics. You're absolutely not supposed to watch the show thinking the incest is all fine and dandy.
Now, could Bran not have said "Theon, just wait another 30 fucking seconds" lmao...
When you know the story of how things are meant to play out, you don’t fuck with destiny and change them. Theon was destined to fully redeem himself and his story ended there. Bran changing that is just fan service and selfish.

The fact that they thought that they could wrap up two seasons worth in 6 episodes is both hilarious and devastating.
Omg the circus music when you start saying you don’t think Jorah will die 😂
And when he said “who has blue eyes?” 😂😂
I think the thing that pissed me off more in season 8 was the crypt. Like we know for a FACT that the Night King can turn dead people to his side!! And their best fcking idea is to put the most vulnerable people in a place surrounded by dead bodies... I mean come on!! Jon saw him, with his own eyes, and yet he himself thought the crypt was safe... it makes no sense to me
There were memes of it everywhere before the episode came out cause they said it was the plan the episode before. Yea went exactly how you’d expect….
You know its bad when even Tyrion's actor was complaining how stupid that plan is
I think the even bigger problem was that there weren’t any consequences from it, no named characters died.
Anywhere else would be too exposed or easily accessible.
the dragons fighting breaks my heart everytime 💔 Rhaegal and Drogon mustve been so confused, i wonder if they could sense Viserion was already gone :(
Also Viserion was said to be the gentlest of the 3 dragons so what the night king made him to do his mother and siblings makes me feel sick. One of my favourite moments from the books is when Viserion tries to sit on Dany's knee like he did when he was a baby, he was so cute :(
I cried in the EP he died like he was my dragon lol. Then again when the NK brought him back. I hated it

I really love episode 2 as well. Imo it was the last good episode of the show.
And they arent gonna have 10 seasons of this show
Agree with every word Rory. They really ruined Sansa, Jon and Tyrion in the end for me.
Im sooo sad about this. WE DESERVED MORE. I wanted a full season of "omg is the night king winning" we needed total despair.
to be fair, I feel its VERY STUPID from Sam's Tarly brother to follow his dad to death. knowing that like honor and house are the most important things in this world, being the next in line as head of house cuz there's no other male heir as Sam is a sworn brother, sacrifing there didnt make sense.

If I turn off my brain, I can justify it as he had all the brawn and Sam got all the brains (well not really in s8) but oh well.
29:24 Sansa absolutely DOES look amazing this season it’s kinda insane
Once Dany and Cersei die, the Drip Throne passes to her, by rights.

@@a.j.1819I mean season 8 was objectively bad.
Tbf season 6 Tyrion wasn’t much better
The flashback to Theon jumping ship was hilarious 🗣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was an extra in the last season and I was apart of various scenes including where the wights proceeded towards the Northern Alliance Army…and I remember seeing the guy who plays Sam basically at the front line and thinking to myself “…ah well that’s a shame, I liked Sam.”
Imagine my shock actually watching the episode and seeing him survive?? 😭
It was great fun to film I have to say lol, but it was still a lot of work and long sleepless nights.
THE LORDE GIRL SO CONFUSING EDIT IM SCREAMING 😭😭
i was kinda impressed with myself i won’t lie 😂😂😂
The blue eyes hint went completely over my head when I first watched because there was just so much going on. Bravo 👏
The dragon has 3 heads
I might be recalling it wrong since I watched the series back when it aired on HBO and reactions don't show everything.

incredible job Brad!!!

Remember that Dany's father killed Ned's dad and brother before the events of season 1. And Sansa still has trust issues because of Cersei 😭

@@jenniferhallmark4935no u are dumb stop
I agree with the comment about watching it all at once versus watching it over the years it was airing. I'm of the opinion that the ending itself is not as bad as people make it seem like, it just seemed super disappointing to fans who had been waiting as the episodes came out that may already decided how they wanted it to end. I think it's clear they needed another season-ish to make the pacing feel normal and it also is clear they ran out of source material to fall back on. But on the whole, not as horribly disappointing as I think people claim it is. Like if it was a finale for most any other show I think it would be considered good, but because GOT had been so consistently fantastic it was clear the quality went down
I think it is disappointing, because a) people have built up their theories and b) they didn't give it enough time to flesh it out.
It was rushed but it made sense

@@sejan8812They most likely did, why wouldnt they tell the army about to fight the white walkers what their best chances are? It also kind of made the battle with Circe just not very epic because you’ve already defeated the army of the dead the weird little human spat just seems very pitiful and shallow
Realistically, when Cersei chose not to fight for the living, she forfeited her crown
"i just want someone nice that wants to spend time with me hahahaha OH NO!" how quickly you want from laughing to gasping is amazing....BAAAHAHAHAHA the boom boom boom CLAP omg i love how you edit things
Yesssss! 😍😍 Never clicked on a notification as quick in my life!! ❤
The "those who stole my family's throne" oe something like this, but Dany, girly girl your father was REALLY horrible. They kinda had a point in that
It is ironic since the reason her family had the throne to begin with was because they came in and stole everyone else's lands and bullied their way into power during the Conquest.
Brad, having a breakdown: "WHERE DO MY MORALS LIE??? YOU GUYS CAN'T TRUST ME"
Us, being mostly HOTD fans: *you will learn the ways darker than light.*
Thank you!
22:10 made me think of faegon and what tyrion said to him in the books
For those who don't know in the books there's a guy who claims to be aegon the first son of rhaegar and ellia martel whose death was supposedly faked the one from "you raped her you killed her you murdered her children"
and now he wants to marry dany get a dragon and rule westeros and so tyrion tells him dany has no reason to believe him let alone let him claim the throne
"Now, how do you suppose this queen will react when you turn up with your begging bowl in hand and say, 'good morrow to you, Auntie. I am your nephew , Aegon, returned from the dead. I've been hiding on a poleboat all my life, but now I've washed the blue dye from my hair and I'd like a dragon please...and oh, did i mention, my claim to the iron throne is stronger than your own? ' "
In the show they mixed faegon and jon instead
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE TURN IT UUUPP
Remember when Arya and Jon reunited at the tree and he said to her “how did you sneak up on me?”…that’s what she does. lol
clocking aryas night king kill was expert
BRAAADDDD 💖 I’ve been waiting for this!! Let’s go, babes!
Honestly no it’s not, it’s rushed. That’s. Alli can say, when you finish we can discuss lol 😂
me: ah I guess i can go to bed earlier today.
maboyBrad: updates
me: nevermind. Hits play.
LMFAO TH BRAN SLANDER IS GENERATIONAL I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE REMAINING EPISODES 😂😭😭
, after many rewatches vs other TV fantasy or scifi around S8 isn't horrid just the last 2 episodes REALLY disappointing cause this season should have been regular 10 and last season 7 episode numbers to make the locations/character evolution and time make more sense than cut and thousands of miles traveled or character barely shows things to justify new choices reason.
Wouldn't know about HotD cause I haven't watched it, but I think we'll just have to agree to disagree on this. There's no convincing me this is somehow his fault when he wasn't really involved past like season 5 or 6 of GoT.
9:16 “You do not know a thing”
You could say… he knows nothing…
It just makes sense.
he just sucks as a character
The editing gets better and better everytime babes. Keep it up 🫰🏻
This is where it should have ended.. s8 ep3 ❤ the hero of Winterfell 🎉
Brienne’s corky smile is the best thing in the show ❤
It boggles my mind how the writers didn’t think once to talk to the George R. R. Martin for potential ending ideas. They just went ahead and ruined years of development for each and every character.
Actually all the way at the beginning of the show they were asked two questions
Who is Jon's mother and who will sit on the Iron Throne and George said that they answered correctly and that they stuck to their answer
ARYA IS SUCH AN ICON OMGGGG
I watch all Patreon episodes and I’ve said this before but the EDITING is so funny I loveeee watching both edited and unedited versions I’m just a happy gal either way 😭🦋
I forgot how extremely dark these scenes were omg I can't see anything 🤣
SO EXCITED! power through the last season and then we'll be able to move on to HOTD!
why so excited? HotD is a boring political show with some dragon scenes.
@@zeroknight4517 Ive not watched season 2 yet, so cant comment on that. But, season 1 was really good?? It had drama, good characters and worldbuilding... what else do you need? Sure its a bit political but like so is GOT? 'Throne' is literally in the name so like, we are gonna have that...
Idk I just really liked HotD... maybe its just that its fun to me to get to see more of the GOT worldbuilding but whatever, its fun.
@@zeroknight4517 lol like game of thrones itself... a show that is mostly about politics, strategies, backstabbing, and some scenes with dragons every few episodes.. MAYBE, If you don´t like HOTD then it´s because you don´t like GOT..
@@Namse21 well then watch season 2 :D"
@@julietablanco5182 don't implement your thoughts into mine. I'm not the only one in the world who doesn't like the HotD show. George R.R. Martin doesn't either, btw. I like some characters and plots, but the writing is boring, especially in S2
1:08:34 absolutely loved when it finally clicked 😂
Bran telling Theon that he's a good man has heavy significance in the books.
Sansa wasn't all that excited meeting all her ancestors!
