Finally managed to film some more car content with my FPV drone, action cam, 360 cam & Osmo Pocket 3! Of course the DJI Mic 2 was crucial to capture the audio to bring this edit to life. Hope you guys have enjoyed the intro 🙌🏼
Noted! I was debating whether I should post with or without the music but went with the more badass version 😂 I might post it on IG without the music though!
If I'm buying this mic and receiver solely for recording some exhaust audio, would you still recommend mic 2 over the original mic 1? I have read some comments that the audio is more muffled with the mic 2? thanks and great video
Nice idea using these for car audio. I was thinking of doing the same but with the Rode Wireless Pros as they have a slightly higher Max SPL for louder sounds (123.5 db vs 120 db). How have you attached the mics to the back of your car? Adhesive pads etc?
Go for it! it's a great way to record car audio. I've attached the back mic on the numberplate plastic surround, via the mic clip. (you can see it in the beginning of the video at 0:09) And the second mic I put in the engine bay with the magnet, it's great so you can capture some induction sounds (or turbo whistle, if the car has turbo). Then since you have 2 audio tracks you can always play with the levels and include some sounds from one of the mics and remove others. I hope that helps! :)
@@DroneSupremacy I have just tried recording the audio from my car with dji microphones in the same locations, even with the gain set to -12 it still overwhelms the microphone and goes into the red on the display. Any idea how to get sort this?
Could you share your mic/receiver settings? Do you lower the gain on receiver/mic? Do you use low cut or noise cancellation? Getting some weird results with my Mic 2 on cars.
I just thought to go for Rode m5 for recording car exhaust, but all that installation of wires getting me crazy. Do you think should I stick with Rode or go for Dji mic? Im worried for the lower SPL.
@@DroneSupremacy Just worried about cliping, because of the low SPL capabilty of mic 2, but to be honest that 370z you were able to capture a good notes.

Would have loved to hear the car sounds without the music.

@@DroneSupremacySweet!!
The mix was the issue, for sure. I’m sure it wasn’t mixed with the intention of us geeking out on car sounds… but we will

Great video bro! Keep killing it! 🔥
The only video I can find on this topic for dji mic 2. Ty! Definitely helped.
Amazing Job Mike
Much appreciated 🙏🏼
Good review Mike

@@mrmotors_ukwhat car? Try low cut
@@mrmotors_ukI’ve also got the same issue, did you find a resolution?
are you using the noise cancel feature when recording your car? great review just bought because of this
No need - noise canceling off, low cut filter off
And thank you for the kind words!
Nice job on this review bro
🙌🏼
Awesome! Did you use noise cancellation for exhaust sound as well or it’s better without - have you tried? Sweet ride though!
It’s better without! You get a lot more dynamic sound
Please upload without music, im debating on getting these for car recording and theres not a lot of info in this scenario
could you share what your settings were for the car audio? my exhaust sound is clipping a lot
-12db on the receiver and turn off noise cancelling 👍🏼
@@DroneSupremacy I've tried this with mine but I still just get so much clipping, both in engine bay and rear by exhaust. I guess it is just too loud?
Securing the mics in the exterior & engine bay, did you just rely on the magnets itself?
For the engine bay - yes, magnet only
For the mic on the back - i used the mic clip to secure it to the numberplate bracket.
Any concerns about engine temperature?
@@seanoneill7250 Not really, I mounted it far away from the major sources of heat

Yes, -12 on both mics! Also noise canceling off, low cut filter off
@@DroneSupremacy-12 receiver and -12 mic too? Turned out I had noise cancellation on without knowing and was giving weird results.
My audio keeps clipping/ peaking 🤦🏽♂️
this sounds great, what gains setting are you using?
-12, otherwise it’s way too loud
@@DroneSupremacythank you! I’ll try this

Wires are a deal-breaker for me, so i'd recommend the DJI Mic

What settings on the mic's?
Noise cancellation feature is awesome 🎉
It really is 👍🏼
how did u get that mic to stay attached to the back of the car, magnetic or clip on something ?? thanks
Same question
It’s magnet. And it’s super strong.
@@emmanuelnajera8268 does the magnet come with it?
Yes! magnet comes with it. As for the attaching question - i used the clip of the mic to attach it to the numberplate bracket, just in case :)
Imagine if you showed up to a shoot with your mic and forgot the camera, man, that would be a cool video
Indeed 😅😅
Forget that audio bro... nice tattooos :)))
Noise reduction on or off
Off
tried this weekend on amg gt63 -9 on the transmitter and the audio sounded muffled almost like it some kind of noise isolation. Super weird
*ГраЦки добра презентация , as usual .*
Благодаря! 🙌🏼
