In which we learn that in case of emergency Floor Jansen's voice can be used as car alarm, train horn, air raid siren or fog horn. Rumor has it Troy's ear is still ringing.

The second verse Tuomas wrote for Floor, her husband Hannes van Dahl and their daughter Freja. This was Tuomas way to say thank you Floor for saving the band back in 2012 and make us great again

I always take, “An act of kindness, without an amen”, to mean, kindness without any religious element - one can be empathic by being human, not because of some encoded belief. Tuomas is a secularist who believes in the importance of empathy and that is at the core of this song.

I took it to mean doing acts of kindness just for there sake, not for any recognition.

"According to Tuomas, the song is an “ode to human empathy.” The song’s premise reinforces the idea that caring for people, and inquiring as to their well being, can save them from the mire of sadness that might lead them to suicide, if otherwise left to their own devices."
Asking How's The Heart can make a friend, a neighbor or perhaps a familiar face from the shop "burn the rope and dance some more"🫒🫒
There's deficiency of empathy in this world, but I try keep giving my drop's to the sea...
"Now there's one who came from me" - References Floor Jansen and Hannes van Dahl’s daughter, Freja. This verse and the one before are dedicated to Floor and Hannes' story...

Hi! I cannot escape the warm feeling, having heared this beauty loads of times, of the sentiments and qualities of Kansas' Dust In The Wind...a song that will always be settled down in my top ten ever! I'm interested in the fact, if anyone else shares these same tendencies! Every time again it just takes me there! Love, Rich, NL.

Tuomas Holopainen tells about the core of his lyrics in his song How's The Heart:
"Human empathy, altruism, unconditional love. They truly are the better angels of our nature. The nature of the human kind. We have the potential to be such a great species, and in many ways we already are. It's really important to remember to ask, every now and then, your family, your friends, stranger and yourself the question: How's the heart?"

There is another acoustic of Floor and Troy performing Nemo. Also Hows the Heart video is more rockier with the drums playing like a heartbeat. Troy also is part of a side project with Tuomas and wife Johanna called Auri. Thank you always love your reactions. Burning the rope i seem to think of candles as the wick is a small twine or rope. But that's my interpretation.

I saw them do this live at Wembley arena a couple of years ago, nothing can prepare you for just how powerful Floor's voice is live, it's a jaw dropping experience to hear her in person.

Now to hear the album version, check out the lyric video. Tuomas wrote this one to explore empathy for all our fellow humans. Burn the rope means break the binds of sorrow and dance some more means to find joy for life.
Verse #2 was written for Floor and her story of meeting her husband and birthing her first daughter. Floor was very touch by this verse composed by Tuomas in her honor. Always remember, Floor is an amazing vocalist, however most of the melodies and song arrangements are created by genius of Tuomas Holopainen.

🇫🇮❤this song that explores the themes of compassion, empathy, and finding solace in the midst of suffering. The song highlights the importance of connection and reaching out to others, even in times of personal struggle.
P.S. The 2nd verse is dedicated to Floor, her husband & their 1st child, a daughter named Freja.

This song is special, a song about human empathy...We really need to care more, and fight less ....
I really Like the original version, but that acoustic version just hit's so well into my soul and heart ❤.
It is more personal...Also, this songs message, is more Powerful in this way, than its original version !!!
I was fortunate enough to see this song played acoustic Live and it was beyond beautiful ....
The second verse Tuomas wrote for Floor, her husband Hannes van Dahl and their daughter Freja. This is Tuomas way to say: Thank you Floor for saving the band back in 2012 and make us great again.
he wrote the part "We met where the cliff greets the sea" about her relationship with Hannes van Dahl, the drummer of Sabaton (although is also a clear reference to Élan), and "Now there’s one who came from me / A child of light, another tale", which is about her giving birth to their first daughter Freja. How cool is that?
I mean, he really did what the song is about: human empathy. And what a better way to show it by dedicating a little part of the song for his friend and band mate? She said she went to tears when he mentioned it to her. And I can see why, it is a beautiful song.
Plus: There is another Acoustic version of Ninghtwish song "Nemo" !

I'm pretty sure the "without an amen" part means you don't need prayer or religion to be a moral, compassionate person. Tuomas and the band as a whole are fairly critical of organized religion, especially the power play it comes with. And also just very pro scientific world view.

Nice! I thought it might also mean that the act of kindness is without ending, as an amen is usually the end of a prayer. So no amen is no ending of the kindness.

Hello! You're quite right about the tempo not changing, Yet there is something very particular happening in the bridge part (the second third). We have a 4/4 - or 2/4 - measure and the guitar plays 1/8 notes emphasizing the 1st and 5th eight notes. In parallel Floor sings little accents in her vocals. The result is the implication of a heart beat.

Alan Dean Foster is a big fan of Nightwish's music, the famous American fantasy and science fiction writer who applied his writing talent to such hits as Star Wars and Star Trek, maintains a music section on his blog, he also introduces his subscribers with young and talented artists.
"There are many good singers, fewer great singers, and a very small number who are unique singers. Diana is a natural dramatic contralto. This is the lowest range for a female singer. She is also polyphonic. Roughly, this means that when she sings she often sounds like more than one person singing at once. As you can imagine, the combination is extraordinary. So too is her full range.
Singers at age 14 can do things that astonish us. Witness the careers of Jordan and the Dutch prodigy Amira Willighagen. But even when included in this company there is something special about Diana. I love the performances of the two singers I just mentioned, but they are (perfectly) controlled and measured. Diana is more akin to a force of nature. One of the most common descriptions of her performances is “shamanistic.” Some of this has to do with the remarkable timbre of her voice, some with the sheer intensity of her performing. In this she is closer to Floor Jansen. With both women you can see as well as hear the intensity, the emotion, contained with both the lyrics and the music. A duet between the two would be something magical."
I also recommend checking out the top vocalist, the most unique and incredibly talented Diana Ankudinova.

Burn the rope is said to mean "burn the candle". According to urban dictionary it means smoking mary jane. I guess either one would work in the lyircs.
Some think it is more literal reference to ending own life, like don't do it. Burn the rope, dull the blade. Or maybe just suggestion to bury the aggression towards others and instead invite them in, be their friend.
