Angeles City Philippines
About me : Retired American Expat Brian & Filipina wife Luisa, living in the Angeles City / Clark Pampanga Philippines.
Particle board furniture doesn't move very well. It's best to consider it disposable.
Don't even waste the time or $$ , it's let - down !
Now he's in the Provinces you can get solid wood furniture at pretty good prices, better than the Ikea shit any day.
@@dumbmutts.7758 and the termites LOVE MDF furniture, they had a feast on mine!
@@dumbmutts.7758 Absolutely. A chance to have much higher quality furniture. I'm puzzled about moving all that city type stuff so far across PH to the province. A lot could have been sold in the city and made life less stressful.
On the bright side,at least it wasn't on the boat that sank.
if it was a sinking ferry.. haha. it should be all over news..
Six months from now you can look back at these videos and have a good laugh.
The frustration has probably just started. I know a lot of people who have moved to the province and then ended up moving back to civilization for many reasons, healthcare, isolation, missing their friends, missing the conveniences of the big city. I speak OK Tagalog which helps me when I'm in the province but I have another home in civilization. I had friends move who then got flooded, land-slided out or just went stir-crazy, Crap internet, crap food, unreliable electricity, it wears on you in the end. I've heard stories of the whole family just hanging out at the house too, you order a pizza and the family turns up before the Pizza. I wish you the best all the same Brian. It takes a special breed of person to survive.
You hit the nail on the head I built a house in the province. But I enjoy it because I have a farm. You're right about many things going back to America because I got health problems. Yeah if you like food The province ain't the place to be. You eat a lot of Filipino food. I installed a generator so I'm good to go for a while with that. It is certainly a different lifestyle.
Why in the world would you move your entire HHG to a house that isn't yet finished? 🙄
Maybe he wanted to be there to make sure his shit got built right and his money was being spent wisely.
just remember philly we are dealing with a different kind of stress here in good ol usa lol
Detoxing from living in a Red Light District can be brutal.
Hard to understand why they would move from a decent house to an unfinished house in the province. So many people there, no privacy. This looks like a major downgrade, I wonder why?
Because of the crime in Angeles
I agree. I wouldn't mind a little family around now and then, but I would need my own space. Too much commotion and noise. Plus, if you want to enjoy a Mt. Dew are you supposed to buy one for the whole clan every time?
@@CoconutDreams123 Of course you don't have to buy them all a soda🤣😂
The province is so much better. I've been to the province in Negros Occidental, Philippines 6 times. Last year for a month with my wife and daughter at the family house. Been in Pasig, and Manila, and we choose the province. It's so much better than a concrete jungle.
Because of the banks of the city thief grab his money...that's house himself and his family too
I'm glad the truck finally arrived. Sorry to hear some of the stuff was damaged. At least it wasn't pouring rain while everyone was unloading, looks like you had plenty of help.
Like many said, you could have waited to finish the house to be ready to move in. You could have stayed with the truck with Lot in a separate car rental to be there in case of problems. Let the van with dogs and childs go direct to destination. Forget the scratches and doors removed. You can fix it. You live in the "jungle" now, not in a fancy condo. Nobody care about scratches in the provinces. Anyway, you did your best and good luck in this new adventure.🙂
+ if he going with them in that truck then made youtube videoes when camping roadside in ferry lines and daily drama..
@@stampingtrails4367Too late for that now. 😮
Could have been worse. Everyone arrived there safe and well and the dents and scratches can be repaired. Moving house is never stress free, all worth it in the long run I like the setting.
Hello to all of you .Happy father's day to all the father's that are their with you and to you as well. It does not seem like you have much items when you move from one place to another but when you have to figure out where all the stuff is going when it gets to the final destination is crazy. Lol I'm happy for you that the truck made it there safe with all your stuff. Now you can relax a little.
I wouldn’t get too upset about it, Brian. Your family arrived safe.
If thats all that happen ,your lucky, its not worse, it could all be stolen. It happens
Those that say you look stressed don’t know what a stressed person looks like. Everything you’ve had to deal with surprises me as how chilled you have dealt with the move.
You seem to be happier in the province and good on you Brian.
Brian, Happy Father's Day, to live with all the people and animals all over the place takes a special individual. Sorry to hear about scratch and dents..
Hi Brian, Lot and family. Happy Father's day Brian. The good news the truck finally showed up. Moving is difficult and there are always going to be stuff scratched but things can be repaired or replaced, everyone is safe and your life is going to be better. Mad Max made it and life is good!!!
Beautiful view. Your blessed Brian.
The province , no way! 😮
Welcome to the Philippines Brian. What can go wrong will go wrong that's life.
Happy Father's day Brian, I moved 6 times during my career. Indiana to Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania to Michigan, Michigan to Cincinnati, Cincinnati to Columbus OH, Columbus to Greenville SC, Greenville to Spartanburg SC. I always used professional movers. Almost zero damage. Washer leaked fiirst time used in a new house second floor water every where 1st and 2nd floor. Made it right. New carpet paint etc
Just a word of friendly advice on the particleboard desks, shelves, etc. In the climate we have here in the Philippines...unless it is in an airconditioned environment - low humidity - it has a pretty limited shelf life before it starts swelling and delaminating. Have your carpenter relatives - if they are finish carpenters replace with solid treated wood.
very much tru. even if almost new, its fall appart if moving on this bumpy roads and stiff trucks..
Little overwhelming. Keep chuckling and Happy Father's Day to you too! Amping guys.
thanks for sharing your adventures philly
You bet
it could have been worse, and like you said, you can stain the dents and scratches and it will hide them well....14 days on the road, things are expected to happen, but now you have everything and it will make things much better going forward.
Your frustration is understandable but it is a small exchange for an improved life in the long run. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
It's more fun in the Philippines
Happy Father's day Brian. Family time is always better than material things.
😂
Hello Brian and Lot, I know it’s stressful but try not to… take it one day at a time. I’m glad all of you made it there safely and the truck has arrived. The material things that has damages can be replaced. The most important things is that you and Lot are together. Have patience and everything will get into place. One room at a time… don’t be discouraged be encouraged 😊
Carefully packed in front of you. With you not looking they could have cared less. Happy Father's day to you too.
You get what you pay for. You don’t hire a ditch digger to move furniture and expect things to go well.
It’s the Philippines Brian!!!
Man, I feel for you. It is extremely frustrating. They meant well, but Dang it brother so sorry to hear that
" Brother Brian Kerver , " And just to let you know,And I personally found --- out all the time that it is indeed stressful even very stressful to move from one house to another house. And me and my household or immediate family members or loved --- ones moved to our rented homes/houses five times since 1999 meaning that lasted for almost 25 years already. And I pray, wish and hope that we will live for a long time in the current rented home/house that we are renting at this present age and time because I will be honest with you," I actually hates moving. "
And also,And Belated Happy Father's Day 2024," Brother Brian Kerver!!!
That's some more of that quality Filipino customer service
Best bet is to have a yard sale before you move and just buy new stuff when you get there.
Glad to see progress. Decades ago I was involved with a moving company in the USA and familiar with proper moving and padding techniques. When i watched them loading your truck, I was sure you would have lots of scratches and damage but moving it to another truck made it much worse. Luckily, you received everything. Enjoy your new home.
Great stuff Bud. Siargao is Heaven. Enjoy! 👍 ❤🙂
Thank you for the update❤🎉
No problem 😊
Oh I so wish we could've seen the not so calm and happy Brian part. 😂 BUT at least the important part, the family all arrived healthy and safe.
❤❤❤👍👍👍
Thanks 👍 happy Father's Day to you too
A ride is definitely the best thing to do just wait tell your done and settled
I shipped a large truck to the province and the company put the bike in a crate. No problems. To survive and enjoy the province you must minimize the things that agitate you. There will be many.
New subscriber here. This film just prove the old truth: If you want something done properly you better do it yourself.
That is a wisdom to live by in my opinion.
Thanks for subscribing
when it comes to the second packing I'd imagine they were on the side of the road in a rush because of being on the side of the road but still even then you can attempt to be careful.... like you said though it's not what they do for a living so .. property damage still sucks
Looks like the desk drawers were ransacked. Big mistake your house is surrounded with relative's house. The noise will drive you nuts!
Moving has not changed since 1978. I know the feeling. Exactly what you said, What are you going to do! No tip that's for sure.
Good all your stuff have arrived.
The whole family is pitching in to help. A big happy dinner and blessing of the new home . The price was right. In the usa it would be 5000.00 usd for movers. I love the new home, good road smooth pavement .Happy Fathers Day .
They should have consulted you first before moving your things to another truck. That way someone could have gone to the transfer point and supervised the transfer of your goods.
Hopefully your drone came through unscathed so we can have some terrific views of the surrounding area 😀 👍🏻 😎
Stay tuned. The drone is changing
@PhillyinthePhilippines Wow I'm staying tuned...👌🏻👊
Every move I've made over the years has had its problems, some big, some small. That's just how it is. It's a good thing it wasn't on the boat that sank. I doubt that they insure the move. It will take a while to get everything squared away the way you want but you'll get there. One final piece of advice, in case of a power failure, invest in some disposable razors LOL. Best of luck.😊
Lots of comments on the house. We moved in ours when we had 1 bedroom, 1 CR and small kitchen. Gradually over the years have been adding and adding. Now have 2 floors, 6 bedrooms, 3 CRs, large dining room inside and out, large lounge, patio etc. The province life is the best. Sitting outside at night having a beer, family around you, no motorbikes, no karaoke, peace and quiet, perfect. Look around there are usually plenty of furniture makers/carpenters who make furniture out of good solid wood. Good prices as well. Don't knock the Province life until you have tried it.
I agree 100 % with your statement.
I hope you didn’t have a meltdown. As I told Lot in the comments of one of her videos, it’s going to be rough for awhile, it may even be downright unbearable at times, but eventually you’ll look back and realize you strengthened yourself by enduring an incredible storm.
Wow, what a view ..
Philly it looks like they were traveling like the clampets. All right, everything looks good. It's a learning experience, right? Best of luck, Philly lush greenfields for hearing God's country Philly that's really beautiful. Enjoy your time in God's country
Cool video Philly. Looking forward to seeing your new surroundings. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Glad you like them!
Philippines come when they are good and ready on their time, Yeah their times porities first drinks and foods..
That place has a lot of potential..just need a wheelbarrow, a metal rake, a weedwhacker, a shovel or 2, a workshop wide hard bristle broom, a pair of garden shears. Oh and of course a hammock for Brian to lay in while watching the work take place😂
Brian did his work before he even arrived to the Philippines. His money now, money which everyone there is benefiting from, equals that work. With that being said, I'm sure he's not going to just lay around and not help out around the house. So you have all of your expenses paid for ... Food, housing, electric, internet, etc., and in exchange you have to cook, sweep, and wash clothes? Take away his money, and you still have to do all of those things, just with a whole lot less to live on: Sounds like a pretty fair trade to me. Lot's a hard worker for sure, but Philly ain't no bum either.
You need to look at the good. At least the truck wasn't on the rowrow that sank.
Very true
or went on it's side in a deep ditch destroying almost everything.
Or went INSIDE a spinning black hole never to be seen AGAIN!!!😆
Hello from Concho Arizona. Happy Father's day
I believe the name of that bird is called the Asian koel. They have a lot of those birds in Pattaya Thailand and you constantly hear them all day long.
Hope you are well Philly
Happy belated Father's Day, Brian. Household moves are stressful under the best of circumstances. Brian says to Lot, "I guess we could sell it all on scratch and dent?" Never lose your sense of humor you two! You folks will be fine. Some things can be replaced. Amen: Mad Max looks great! And, moreover, your beautiful, green, high ground view @12:37, Brian is, priceless! "I will find that bird, I will find that bird...":.)
* Did you consider doing a PRO MO vlog for the Big hardware store in a prior episode
of the town . You'll get a Good L👀K around for their stock on hand .
* They get Exposure , you'll benefit somehow ,you - know.
It appeared rather NEW ! See what they carry for your repair / replacement needs.
~ Take a ride , shake off some stress & make some New friends .
*Set a couple of Bird feeders out near you viewing zone & pick up a pair of binoculars.
You'll see many I'd say ? You're an early riser anyway .
GOOD LUCK ! 👍 🎯
Big Job
Look on the bright side Brian , the move is over now , just put it down to experience .
And happy Father's Day to you.
Enjoy Rocky things can always be fixed chill ,its the best thing you have done moving
I'm a double edge razor collector. Maybe 40 of them. I've got everything from a new 1959 Gillette Fatboy to a dozen nice cheap China razors. I sent it all to Bohol for when I move there in 3 weeks. Maybe 15,000 blades also :)
Happy fathers day Brian 😊👍 🎂 and im glad the truck finally arrived but sorry some things got damage! 😐
Looks so peaceful. But, thee is a price to pay for that level of isolation. I lived in the PI for 3 years on the former Clark AFB. It was great because I had access to good healthcare and modern necessities. Good luck Brian wishing you the best. I have followed your channel for the last few years off and on. I hope you don't need any advance healthcare services anytime soon. The PI is nice but there are so many limitations. Get some rest and take care of yourself.
Welcome to the province.
Noise Cancelling Headphones, my favourite accessory… 😉
Glad your stuff is finally there.
Chill out with a chill beer.
Life is too short to worry about scratches.
You have a million dollar view.
Happy Father’s Day.
Great video mate, you are staying cool and relaxed, all the best in your new house.
Thanks 👍
thank god,,the most valuable thing arrived without a scratch,YOUR FAMILY ! ive moved 100 times,., materieal things get broke,,its fixable or replaceable,,,love the view ,,hope to see you when i come to philippines,, enjoy your new life in the province !
great atitude!
Happy Father's Day to you to
Just wait until the rainy season starts up soon. Mosquito Coast and humidity will bite you in the rear. You better get the A/C running cause you are going to need. Hotter down there.😅
Dengue mosquito bites is there now
Hello from Olmsted falls Ohio....
From one Buckeye to another, Hello!
omg..Truck finally arrived ,,,nice. If you consider that you up and moved in 1 weekend..it all went as well as it could have. I would have flown down ahead of time and got the house finished first, before furniture was moved in. When we moved our home from Manila to CDO...our moving truck only went to manila port (8 miles) and then took a "manila to Cebu RoRo". And then switched to a Cebu to CDO RoRo..and then drove the 8 miles to our new house in CDO.
Man I feel bad for you. This stuff just wears you down over time. We are liquidating everything and just taking clothes when we leave. Hope you get it sorted.
Happy Fathers day Brian. It will all come together.
It's a damn shame. It's not their stuff to be cared for. But let that happen to them? Well, their attitudes would be different. I'm sure. I wish you all the best Brian and family there. It can all be replaced. God bless.
Oh, have you heard from Hannah Grace?
We hear from Hannah ever day
Sorry that happened Brian !!
Moving one truck to another on road is tough . Hot , behind schedule, frustrated people . Sorry this happened to your stuff . At least it’s over with
Brian my brother thanks for the update on your journey. Even though you’re surely be missed in the AC area. I’m looking forward to seeing your videos from your new home base. Keep them coming I always look forward to them. Thank you for sharing ✌🏾.
Good luck settling in. Moving is a pain!
Brian try automotive cut and polish on your metal appliances to get the scratches out.and for your wooden furniture 0000 steel wool that's what french polishers use for light scratches on wood use with beeswax .
Happy Father's Day! Everyone is safe, that's the main thing. Your still in a good spot.
You got this Brian! Beautiful place you chose!
Thanks so much!
I'm so sorry this happened to you, Brian. I'll be the first to say that some movers here in the states are not very good, but I worked for several years in a moving company. It was a small "mom & pop" company that was affiliated with a national moving company and this kind of move would be 100% unacceptable. On occasion we did scratch something or an item got broke, but not very often. When it did happen the customer got full compensation for the item.
It's different in the PHILIPPINES🤗
I guess that the only way that you can make sure that everything arrives the way that you sent it is to ride with the moving crew. Sorry that not everything went the way that it was planned. I'm sure that when the truck broke down that they didn't feel like taking any longer than needed to load up the other truck. I'm sure that they were already tired from having so many things going wrong for them. Happy that the truck arrived and that you have everything that you sent.
glad it all made it as some told me. well to the Philippine's
Hey Brian my dear friend, first of all, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to you brother. I truly understand your frustration from some of your furniture got scratched and dented. I guess if it doesn't belong to them, they just do whatever. Thank God that mad max didn't get any scratches. But damn, it took so long for your furniture to arrive. The view is absolutely awesome. It really looks so peaceful. I like the bird whistling. I'm sure that you and lot will get the furniture all set up soon. It's good that you found your razor. I'm too am in need of a good shave. I need to look into that ups. Did you get that from lasada? And it's good that nothing was missing. Can't wait to see what's next. Thank you Brian my dear friend for sharing this awesome video. Please stay safe and healthy, and God bless you, lot, Borges, Miguel, Hannah grace, Bing Bing(Sam), Reynalyn, Reynalyn's daughter, Adrian, Chubbs, and the rest of your beautiful family. And may God bless Batchoy, B-2, Rocky, Mama Earl(RIP), and little snow always, and your extended family in the province of Siargao Island.😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 😊 ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Happy Father's day Brian glad you have you furniture thanks for sharing take care
Thanks, you too!
Its good to know people. My wife worked for the local government for twenty three years here in negros Occidental. Her family goes back to around 1900 so she has connections everywhere.
Happy Fathers Day, Brian☘️
Happy father day to you. Have a great day.
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY Brian ! I'm Sorry For What You're Going Through Brian ! Difficult Situation With The Other Truck Breaking Down Unfortunately ! I Hope You , Lot And The Family Have A Great Day ! 🙂🙂🙂🙏🙏🙏💯💯💯
