I didn't care, but was still surprised as this was in Germany. We're a great match for each other (emotionally, intellectually and with similar tastes, interests and outlook on life). I'm Dutch (and half Polish), he's Nigerian.

I don’t know man. Sometimes it’s the other way around too. I’ve seen white people treat mixed kids more nicer than other black people because they were deemed “not black enough” or were considered “bootlicking “Uncle Toms”. Almost like the black people wanted to keep the one drop rule alive and only make the mixed person acknowledge his/her black side, instead of embracing their white culture also. I was one of those young people. I’m speaking from experience, though I do realize everyone’s experiences are different.💯

I don't know if it's just her face but she looks like she is in physical pain talking about her interracial relationship that was doomed to fail because she was probably ignorant to most of the racism due to being white . As a lily white woman from that background she likely has racist people in her family too. It really depends on where you live. Not to mention racist white people are more secretive about their feelings towards WM/BW relationships. I had a buddy who is white and dates black women, he gave me a rundown on how white people are by explaining the way they acted when he was with his girlfriend, when she wasn't around and when they thought he wasn't able to hear what they were saying. In short, if you don't experience it, it's either because you aren't keen on their covert behavior or you got lucky and are around genuinely good people. Sometimes, ignorance is bliss.

I’m Caucasian, my wife of 41+ years is Asian. At the start, yeah, we got some dirty looks, particularly when we travelled in the South one year. But we chalked it up to ignorance. The last ten years, we’ve traveled extensively in Asia and the only looks we get there are ones of curiosity as I’m 6’2” tall and she’s 5’1”. So we’re a bit of a novelty in that regard, but since we do a lot of repeat travel over there, there are shop owners, restaurant workers, etc, that recognize us and welcome us back.
Lindsey, have a relationship with whoever you want. It’s your life and your happiness is all that matters in this regard.

White British Manchester man here, I love the U.S but I really wish it was more like here in terms of racial relations. All of my mates are black, white, Asian, mixed race and we have always dated whoever we wanted and for the most part no one cares at all. When I rocked up in my black girlfriend’s parents house as a teen the parents were totally cool. Same as for my black mates. If you are a decent man/woman the parents are usually fine with it. Of course this prob wouldn’t be the same in the small towns but if you are a black/white/Asian person who wants to or is dating another race come to inner city UK and you won’t be judged.
In my humble opinion, the UK is far from perfect I know but we are WAY ahead of the world in this respect. I’ve been to 50 countries and lived in Thailand, Brazil, UAE and the U.S (NYC) for 18 years, so have a basis for comparison.

I don’t agree. PK experienced racism in Montreal Canada and they traded him for no reason. He played well for the Canadiens. The management and many fans didn’t want to see a black player excel and be the face of the Canadiens.

Good point a lot of racism is still in hockey. People hate the fact that not only is PK a black hockey player but a tough and skilled one as well. There’s unfortunately still racism in Canada and the United States where PK plays.
