It feels nice to watch these videos- I opened my IGCSE results on a random drive and I was so deep into an anxiety disorder and antidepressants that I didn’t even feel anything. I got a B in math, straight As in the rest of the subjects I took and an A* in physics- and I didn’t feel a thing. I wish I could go back and truly experience what it felt like to see what 10 years of my life led to
Thanks that means a lot!! Also I used up all of the best live reactions I could currently find, but I might make a similar compilation in the future! Let me know if you have any suggestions for a similar type of video though!
17 May 2018. Got 4 A* and a B. What a wonderful day it was for me. Grades don't matter in the long term but they surely give you moments to cherish for lifetime.
I am terrified of getting average results. Absolutely terrified. It sounds very stuck up but if I get more than 2 7s or anything under a 7 I will be very disappointed in myself, and quite upset. It’s just so anxiety provoking, all my friends are so clever and going to get all 8s and 9s and I’m predicted 8s and 9s too but I really don’t know if I’m going to get those results.
Honestly don't worry at all. GCSEs are mainly just to see where your skills lie so it doesn't matter if you don't get the highest grades or whatever else. Don't compare yourself to others or stress yourself out too much because it's really not worth it. If you put the work in then no matter what you get should be fine & you should be proud of yourself regardless. I know it can be difficult, especially these days when everyone makes it seem like these grades will determine the rest of your life but that isn't the case at all. If you want something badly enough you'll find a way of doing it, even if it isn't the most conventional route. And if something doesn't work out the way you hoped, it probably wasn't meant for you anyway so you just have to move on & keep trying until you find what makes you happy. The main purpose of this video was just to highlight how flawed the education system is in the UK as it puts so much pressure on young people to do well. At the end of the day just take a step back & remember that they are just grades on a sheet of paper & that shouldn't determine your self worth so don't let it. Good luck, I believe in you & feel free to let me know how it goes if you want! 😊 x
A few other things to note as well for others who may read this: - Just chill out and relax in the summer and stop worrying and stressing yourself out because there's genuinely no point and life's too short. - I really don't understand why everyone brings race into this because the colour of your skin doesn't make you any more or less likely to do better than someone else. Anyone has the ability to produce good grades if you put the work in so stop making excuses. - Yes, I am aware that the final video is a skit lol how about you use your reading skills from the humanities subjects to read the description. He's taking the piss out of how dramatic everyone can be about something that's pretty insignificant so calm yourselves.
Chi’s video motivated me to start my revision extremely early (like early November). I got a 9 in Maths and 4 grade 8s (and an A* in Further Maths) These reaction videos are useful if you react to them the right way.
mitch which bits in particular ? For me the hardest topics were trigonometric identities and matrices. At my school, we finished the regular gcse syllabus (old spec) by the end of year 10, and did the new spec material plus further and for some people, additional, in year 11 (that was pretty intense for the people doing additional). For me, most of my consolidation for further was in my last week before my further exams, as I simply had no time to revise for it before then. This meant I spent 4-5 hours a day consistently from Saturday till Monday revising Further. On Tuesday I was broken by the paper so I didn’t revise in the evening, but I did revise on Wednesday. For me at least, the calculator paper tended to be significantly more challenging than the non-calculator paper. And that seemed to be true for most of my friends as well.
Aayush Ganesh probs calculus, I get the whole dy/dx thing but I missed like 3 of the lessons in a row. Considering that we only have 1 lesson a week after school we’re doing pretty good. I’m probably going to buy the revision guide and go over things but I generally understand what the questions are asking to do. We finished the normal syllabus by the end of year 10. My entire class is taking further maths and my set is getting consistent 8s and 9s so I don’t know why we’re going over normal syllabus lol. I’m probably just going to forget about further until I get most exams over and done with and then just try and learn the stuff because it’s mostly just normal syllabus stuff plus matrices and calculus. I’ll do a couple past papers over half term and see what areas I need to work on
mitch Yeah, old spec L2 Further isn’t much harder than the new GCSE. One could arguably say its actually easier. It certainly has significantly less problem solving. Regarding differentiation, the differentiation power rule and the meanings of the first and second derivative are essential. They can put coordinate geometry together with differentiation really easily as well. Make sure you’re rock solid on that and you can make some of the hardest questions with relatively little difficulty.
I opened my results like a couple a days ago and I’ve never been so freaking happy like getting an A for literature is a damn miracle and the fact that I didn’t fail one subject was all I wanted

A few other things to note as well for others who may read this:
- Just chill out and relax in the summer and stop worrying and stressing yourself out because there's genuinely no point and life's too short.
Thank you for your reply💛
Shut up you stuck up twat. Absolute nerd and try hard

yeah why is not many people talking about this
“Omg shove that up miss- what’s her name? Fernando?” I’m done 😂
Chi’s video motivated me to start my revision extremely early (like early November).
I got a 9 in Maths and 4 grade 8s (and an A* in Further Maths)
These reaction videos are useful if you react to them the right way.
Aayush Ganesh shit further maths, i haven’t attended half of the lessons and I don’t know any of the stuff lol
mitch which bits in particular ?
Make sure you’re rock solid on that and you can make some of the hardest questions with relatively little difficulty.
happy for u :)
really shows how much hard work and trying you’re absolute hardest can change your reaction to your results ❤️
