wow guys this is awesome there not much open education on car audio. i really enjoy this, this helps me better explain outputs to clients
Hey Allen, I have a Sony GS610BT head unit right now Im using the "4th" setup and that thing sounds really good I am lovin it.
The diagram on the top right shows wiring in series, you should redraw it to show parallel. The explanation is correct but the diagram shows what is traditionally representative for a series connection. Also, what about a dual 4 ohm voice coil woofer with one coil connected to each woofer?
Thanks for the reply 👍🏻
grate stuff guys
I'm running mine with a 10g wire to the second battery and the front speakers are Infinity 62.11s 2ohm. It works and sounds great. My question is how can I add an aux input on the back through a bus connection?
so what's the desired wattage for a radio like this?? less than 40W? and what do i have to watch out for if considering component speakers?
Been running mine 4ohm up front 2 ohm in back now for 5yrs no problem
If we went to option 2
I have setup a woofer for people where I connect their woofer to one of the rear leads, and taping the other and not using it at all. .And they are satisfied. And you will get some bass. Most of the time they want 4 good speakers, And an amp to a sub, which this option really hits hard on the sub. Sony radios are pretty cool. I have been installing many of them lately.
Any issues with heat or does the radio have thermal shut down circuitry like most common amplifiers? Is the radio wiring harness any different then a standard Sony harness? I remember when Pioneer had that 60x4 radio around 2007-8 it came with a thicker power and ground wire.
what if you have an external amp and set of front and rear speakers and subs with an external amp for that as well...how would you hook all that up on that deck?
Would you guys know why it doesn't read the aswc-1? I installed the N5100bt into a 2012 sentra but i couldn't get the radio to read the actual module for some reason. My connections are all good so i'm confused....
hey guys is there an additional wiring kit needed when wiring up this unit because of the extra fused and larger pwer/ground wire?
I can connect two speakers in parallel into a single channel on this Sony MEX-XB100BT?
Do you recommend using the decks(pioneer avh3100dvd power(amp) to power tweeters or like crescendo bullet speakers with a hi pass or crossover.
Looking to install this unit soon. Want to replace the 6x9s and 5.25s factory stock speakers that came with my truck. Any suggestions??
Would you be able to bridge channels to run a set of higher end component speakers? Running a pair of Focal 6.5" in a single cab Toyota pickup so these are the only other speakers currently installed aside a woofer.
What if we hooked all the 4 outputs to 2 channels parallel getting a total of 80 watts power to each right and left channels?
What if you have two front speakers and in the back have two 6 inch subwoofers
