The best demos on youtube by a country mile. Unfortunately they always make me want to buy pedals that I know I can't use and don't need. Hahahahahaha. I hope TC are appreciating this
Pitch shift sounds great on chords. That's the test of a good pitch shift algorithm for me. Stereo in and out as well as toneprint slots? SOLD! Thanks for the demo. Best one I have found.
i realize I am kind of randomly asking but does anybody know of a good website to stream newly released tv shows online ?
@Sergio Dexter Flixportal
@Maximilian Cassius thanks, I signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :D I appreciate it !!
@Sergio Dexter Glad I could help :D
excellent demo. convinced me to get it in place of a digitech Whammy for less than half.
do you think it can do Wah as well with the app?
@@ymelfilm yessu can mix in pretty much everything it has autowah ones
@@speedhead I mean, the mash function maybe able to help express the wah as we wish
Have this on my pedalboard and its the most fun pedal there, I got it for the whammy effects but its so much fun on all the other settings as well as the faux whammy, great demo as always Mike
Andrew Moore It’s a killer pedal! I love the Mash footswitch
@@popintothechemist indeed and very clever idea (mash) loads of space on the board now I can take off my digitech whammy pedal
Hey there,
i know this is a somewhat old comment of yours but i am thinking about getting this pedal and wanted to ask you if its possible to get a sound where i ONLY hear the ptch shiifted setting. I am especially looking to get the lower octave only to emulate a bass guitar.
I hope you read this and you can help me out
greetings from germany

@@Junkpilepunk Hi There, yes you can do this, you can even take your dry signal completely out so you just get the octave sound on its own, tbh its ok if you wanted to do it with a better signal i'd recommend the EHX Pitch Fork as it just sounds much much better more full if thats what youre looking for. All the best from Ireland
This pedal is awesome, but if you really want to get advantage of him, it's stricly mandatory to use the toneprint app, same thing for others TC toneprint pedals... you don't really knows what you have til you meet and use the toneprint app.
Since they're pure digital... Idk why TC Electronics doesn't release a pedal with Decay, Mix, and Tone knobs, a PreDelay switch, and knob to choose between 10 fixed positions BUT... EACH of those 10 options is a TonePrint!
The difference from other TC pedals would be that ANY TonePrint can go into any of those 10 slots! Like, you can have Tremolo TPs, Reverb TPs, Phase TPs, Delay TPs, etc!
Basically, it would be a "Jack of all trades, master of none" pedal (Jack or Trade Jack even being decent potential names).
The "catch" of the pedal would obviously be that there are limited TonePrints and you could only use TPs from single-unit TC pedals. Meaning, multi-delays capable with the Flashback x4 wouldn't be available
Haha just a stoned-at-2am thought of mine! They could charge like $200-$225 so it's not something people can absolutely take advantage of too. It's limitations would obviously not make it able to be a stand-in/substitute for ALL other TC pedals as well
What a master player to demo this pedal! 🤯
Awesome video! 👍👍
That Guy thanks so much!!!
Its almost identically to the Boss- PS6 functions
P6 has terrible, glitchy tracking
this pedal have no master volume? you can mix clean sound with effect sound, but cannot control the volume in relation with other pedals,,,is thrue?
Why is that when I use the Wham function it's far quieter when mashing?
Hey man, did you find a workaround? I’m trying to understand the same thing. I just bought the pedal and I find the wham function unusable, the volume drop is massive. However in this video, it sounds very good in more than one scenario.
@@alvarogdv.9908 I tried different combinations of mono and stereo outputs and one of them eventually helped, but I can't remember which one and it wasn't perfect
@@GNVS300 Hey thanks for the answer. I've been trying and i found out that the volume drop happens when you put the brainwaves after dirt on your pedal chain. When you put the brainwaves before the dirt, WHAM function works amazingly well (no volume drop)... problem is, in this order, the tracking on every other mode sounds very glitchy and not as good (at least to my taste). It would be awesome if TC would let us change the volume of the WHAM on the toneprint editor. For now, i'll keep putting the brainwaves after dirt. It's an amazing pedal even without the wham so I can live without that function.
How do I change the semitones on the brainwaves TonePrint???
tired of tc making pedals like this but no way for us to switch presets easy on stage.... ADD MIDI PLEASE!
Question.....the original pitchfork goes 1, 2, then 4 pitches and skips the 3rd....meaning, if I am in A, and I keep dialing the pitch key up, it will go A#, B, then C#......Will this pedal allow me to hit the 3rd, or C, note that the original pitchfork doesn’t????
Can this just pitch shift your dry signal semitones up or down all I see is octaves and effects
1:36 fuc yea dude
I'm trying to find a vid with major dirt gain and this pedal. Anyone found a good link? This is nice but pretty clean sound. I'm hoping for a more dirt example!
Great demo! What expression pedal are you using here?
The expression is in the Mash technology, in the on/off button.
THAT COLOR THOUGH....
brain
Great demo! What amp did you use?
Says Two Rock in the video
Wouldn't most of what this pedal done be doable with some configuration of the TC Quintessence as well ?
Quintessence is a monophonic HARMONIZER, thus it does not work with chords. QT detects the note played and then plays the harmony according to the selected scale and mode. Brainwaves will pitch a fixed number of cents, regardless of the input, thus it is able to be polyphonic. Hope that kind of answers it :)
@@Kattemageren definitely, thanks :)
I agree with Ky fisher, Lots of funny pedals, lots of funny psosibility's, very usefull. But come on, on stage a one trick pony, and these thing do'nt com cheap, for me.
After a lot of time trying to find out how to get Eb tuning (half step down) with this pedal, realized some things:
1) It loose a lot of gain/volume
2) It loose a lot of high frequencies
3) There is a kind of "delay" (as a second note) that is really annoying.
I tried a lot of different settings os Softclipper section but could not fix it.
Right now I think my cheap Mooer PitchBox does this job MUCH better.
Can you help me?
does the brainwaves do one whole step down well? thanks
@@supernothing77 I do not recommend Brainwaves for that function. It's a shifter, mainly. The dropping tune is not good. If you want a dropper, I strongly recommend Drop from Digitech. Or, PitchBox from Mooer if budget is low.
@@DelReiRock hey thanks for the advice
Yes drop is great. My guitar is tuned to c standard and i use Drop to set it in A standard. Works great.

Can you record something for us?
Does this create a clearer and clickier (more pick attack and brighter) octave down sound with better tracking than the EHX pitchfork to play complex Bass VI type chords and riffs under distortion?
Chords Of Orion did a comparison video on the Pitchfork and Brainwaves if you wanna use that to form your own opinion! I think the Pitchfork sounded way better than the Brainwaves
Is that your foot?😆
Sennstrato Sennstrato yes!
So it's just the ps5?
If they added one more smaller brain in the distance... I'd call it Hemispheres Pitch Shifter.
Or how about a drippy spring reverb to ride those brainwaves?
