"Alright guys, this is straight forward and easy, all you got to do is... oh shit, and... oh, and... shit, this isnt easy" sums up pretty much every time I open my hood...
Thanks for the video man I was just about to replace my alternator while doing a timing belt job on my 350k mile sequoia.. instead I bought a new brush pack from toyota for 28$ at a local dealership. Was very hesitant to get a parts store replacement and didnt feel like spending 250+ dollars. Will give this a go tomorrow!
Damn… engineers and mechanics need to fuckin hang out more. Thats insane accessing it compared to other cars that have it sitting right on top the engine.. whatever. Nice vid. Really clear on EACH step. Most vids suck ass and skip a step or don’t actually show what bolt/nut… or do the process unnecessarily… work smarter not harder!! Nice vid!!
I figured I would post my unrelated question on your most recent video so you’re more likely to see it. Thank you for the videos. They are really helpful when you’re doing things on your own at home. Your Subaru engine swapping videos are the best I found on UA-cam to help with my at home driveway engine swap on my 09 outback. Now it’s time to find an engine to go back in. I have a quick question for you. All the junkyards I call say I need an engine out of a manual transmission outback because mine is manual. In your video it sounds like it doesn’t matter and I just need to swap over the timing belt guide and maybe a couple of other things. Is there anything else? And am I good to just buy any compatible year engine, regardless of transmission? , Thank you and keep the videos coming.
I don’t know why I didn’t get notified on this, sorry about that. You need a 06+ with vvl, avcs, V-TEC. Whatever you want to call it. Use your intake, harness, timing belt drive, and cam gears
FYI: The part number listed in video for 4th gen 4runners and gx470s is different from 2007 onward. If you have a VVTI 2uz-fe in your 4runner or gx470, then the correct part number is 27370-58460

Brushes wore out on my Chevy. Gone. Spring was riding on rotor surface.

Wish i had seen this before i replaced my alternator in my 2008 4runner with 300K on it.
whats the software or program you used to check or test the alternator after repairs?
I took it to Orelieys
Is the 4runner link for all 4th gen 4Runners both v6 and v8 ?
I doubt it. This was UZ specific.
I’ve never done a GR alternator
You should ALWAYS remove the NEGATIVE battery terminal. Not the positive.
Either one is fine
what state are you in? do you sell rust free cars and car parts?
New Mexico. There’s plenty of rust free cars in my region
