Gel x pros:
Saved money! 💰
Keeps my nails long and strong
(All of my nails were the same length as the thumb nail before I filmed the last clip) they were maybe a little longer than the second clip 😊
Cons:
Possible fungal issue… 😷 I was able to grow out any fungus that I experience - the minimal growth on the thumb started at the base of the nail near the cuticle. Most of it has been filed off during my last set.
I am now using builder gel instead of gel x to maintain the strength and length of my nails! 💅
Just started my journey in November. My nails usually grow to a nice length then break so I decided to go to a salon to get my nails done professionally first time in years! Got a gel x extension. After 1 month I removed it myself, watched UA-cam videos to learn how to do nails, bought nail kits on Amazon and boom! My nails have retained the length using gel builder, it’s amazing! I wish I knew about this sooner!!! 😂 ppl are shocked it’s my real nails 😂.
Funny thing, I’m refilling my builder gel right now! Stopped drilling to respond 🫶🏽 I love that for you! I had the same issue, my nails grow long and then one breaks & I have to cut them all.. I started gel x because I didn’t like how minimal my nails looked with only gel on top and it didn’t add strength somewhere down the line one will break. With builder I get the strength & longevity and the shape I love!

What is gel x?
Is it a nail polish?
It’s a nail tip extension (almost like a press on) that’s made out of hard gel. It’s applied using a gel glue.. since the nail is made out of gel it soaks off with acetone making it easier to use than acrylics
